Lexi's POV
Going back to school was a drag. I wanted to swing into action but no, we need more information on John's whereabouts.
At first I thought that the bloodlust would be too much for me, since the school is full of humans, but it was like any other day. They only difference is that my senses are forever heightened and it feels like I'm crawling when I walk at human pace.
"So how was the visit to your dads?" I hear Amanda ask Xavier. Out of the corner of my eyes I see her grab his bicep and I almost loose it. She then proceeds to flirt and twirl her hair like the airhead she is.
When she puts her hand on Xavier's upper thigh, that's when I start to see red. My fangs start to prod my gums, wanting to be released. I get up from the lunch table and human speed walk to the door. As I human run through the hallway, I hear footsteps follow me.
I dash into an unused classroom an climb into the air vent in the ceiling with my vampiric speed. I peek from the edge, curiosity getting the better of me. Roy walks into the room. His scent quickly fills the room and make the bloodlust return.
I realize that this is the moment when I know if I have the self control to be around humans. Just like three days ago when Jace was testing me, I try to focus on anything but the heartbeat pounding furiously below me. The amazing smell wafting up into the vent where I'm hiding. And finally I feel my self calm down and slowly move away from the opening. Knowing that I can't be around the school for a bit I crawl through the vent until I reach an opening to the outside. I kick off the covering and jump onto the grass in the back of the school. Luckily it was rumored to be bad luck to be behind the school during lunch so no one was there.
"I'm in the back." I tell Xavier through our mind link so he won't worry.
"Okay, but once we get home we have to talk." He lets me know.
Of course he wants to talk. I can't believe jealousy pushed me to do the unthinkable. Not wanting to head back to school I begin the walk home. It'll take me a good two hours at human sore but I need that time to cool down.
Two hours later, I'm rounding to corner to the street that Bertha's house is located on when I hear a car come up behind me.
"Hey, did you walk all the way here after lunch?" I hear someone ask from behind me. I turn to see who it is an surprise, it's Roy.
"Yeah, I didn't feel good so I called and asked my mom if I could walk home." I reply. I knew for a fact that his house was on the other side of town. It's beginning to creep me out. "What are you doing on this side of town?" I ask, because I'm stupid and always speak my mind.
"I was worried about you when you didn't show up to classes and your brother was freaking out."
"Thank you, I'm sorry but I have to get home." I start to walk again and he pulls up beside me driving at the pace I was walking in. At this point I'm more than creeped out.
"That wasn't the only thing, I also wanted to ask you if you maybe wanted to...I don't know....well, I heard you telling my sister that you're a huge Hunter Hayes fan so I managed to score some tickets to his concert so willyougowithme?" He rushes the end of the sentence together but I manage to understand.
I'm debating in what to tell him. One one hand I've always wanted to see Hunter Hayes live, on the other hand I remember I made plans with Xavier to go to a rock festival in Cali this weekend.
I finally realize which one of the two sounded better to me but I still needed more info. "When exactly is the concert?" I ask.
"Thursday night. I know it's a school night but the Friday night concert was all sold out." He starts to ramble.
"It's okay. I'll check with my mom and see what she says to this." I say even though I knew I was going to check with Xavier instead. With that I walk up the driveway and take out my key, open the door and step inside.
***************
"So what happened at school today?" Xavier asks me. It's now late at night, Bertha is fast asleep, and I haven't brought up the Roy thing yet.
"Nothing." My typical response.
"Lexi, don't lie to me."
"I was jealous, okay. She touched you and all I could think about was snapping her neck. I started seeing re and all I could think about was snapping her like a twig. So I left." Guys are so freaking dense sometimes.
"Come here."
"No!"
"Lexi stop being stubborn!"
"I'm not being stubborn." I retort. "I just feel nasty, sweaty. I need a shower."
I turn my back to him and start to take of the stupid uniform. I'm not in the mood to talk to him right now. I'm tired and I still have to do my stupid, stupid homework. I look over to the desk an cast a spell so the home work gets done by itself. Lazy, I know but I don't want to do my homework today.
"You're already doing your homework and you can take a shower later." Xavier continues.
"No." With that I walk into the bathroom. I take a quick shower and change quickly. I remember that I still have to tell him about the concert Thursday.
Back in the room Xavier is sleeping. I guess I'll just tell him tomorrow about the concert. With that last thought I crawl into bed next to Xavier and sensing me he scoots closer before throwing an arm around my waist. I fall asleep listening to his heartbeat.

A/N
This is kind of a filler chapter. The next Lexi chapter will include both concerts so it might be a little longer and I'm thinking of throwing a little surprise in there.
I'm currently doing my best to research scholarships and colleges while still finding time for my family while trying to write so updates might take longer but ill try to update all my stories on here for my birthday.
