On one hand, he desperately wanted her to pick up the phone, but on the other hand, he might've just made a huge mistake. This dilemma swirled around in his head as he listened to the repetitive rings an anticipated an answer.
"Yellow? Mandy's phone, who this?" A chirpy girl picked up, definitely not the voice of Brownie's. Noel hesitated, wandering if he should just hang up.
"Umm.. this is... Mike?" He said, somewhat confused as to whether that was, in fact, the name Brownie had given him.
"You sure that's your name, mate? You seem uncertain." The girl at the end of the line chuckled, to which he gave an awkward airy laugh.
"Is this a bad time to call? Is.... Mandy there?" He heard the name when this stranger picked up, and assumed that was what Brownie's real name was. Otherwise, he'd royally fucked up. In retrospect, the whole situation was a bit of a mess, seeing as he was dialling up a girl who'd he'd only met once and didn't even know the name of.
"Sure."

I'd been accepted into the job I'd applied to, and, to celebrate, I decided to run myself a luxurious bath. As my eyelids begun to droop shut from the enveloping warmth, I heard my phone blare from inside my bedroom. Cursing, I requested Cassidy to pick it up for me. However, she seemed to be taking her sweet time chatting up whoever had called me.
"Who is it?" I shouted from inside the bath, seeped in bubbled and lavender scents. I really wanted to go snatch the phone from her, but the mess that would create really wasn't worth it.
"Some guy!" She responded as I heard her nearing the bathroom. She threw open the door and smirked at me as she talked on the phone, right in front of me.
"Sooo, how do you know Mandy?" She interrogated, teasingly staring right at me. My eyes widened as I furiously gestured for her to give me the phone. She shrugged and gripped onto it, leaving me helplessly in the bath.
"A bar?" Cassidy said in shock, and my heart dropped as I realised who she was talking to. I gulped and remained calm. A part of me wandered what her reaction would be if she realised she was chatting to Noel Michaels.
"Okay, here," Cassidy finally got of the phone and handed it to, "He sounds hot." she winked as I snatched my phone out of her grip.
"Hello?" I asked, feeling that weird sense of excitement overtake me once more. The comfortable bath elevated that even more.
"So your name is Mandy?" Noel inquired.
"Yeah, a nickname, but most people call me that." I replied, letting my hand glide through the mountains of bubbles around me. My name, Samantha, had been shortened to Mandy by Cassidy when we first met, as 'Sam' was too basic. Ever since, I'd almost adopted that name, just letting all my friends call me that.
"So what are you doing?" He asked, but for some reason, his voice seemed a little deflated.
"I'm having a bath." I blurted out, but then immediately regretted it. Shit, now he'll know that I'm naked. Or will he, is that weird? Is it normal to chat to someone whilst having a bath? Or is it suggestive? I tried to ignore the niggling questions and quickly diverted the topic. "So, what makes you call me?" I asked.
"I just -- I don't have anyone to chat to, you know, normally. These days, everywhere I go, i become a sort of zoo animal that everyone gawks at. I just want to feel normal." He suddenly replied so genuinely that it slightly jolted my heart.
"So I'm assuming I make you feel normal?" I replied somewhat breathlessly, staring down at my wrinkling hands in the tub of water.
"Yeah, you do. I like talking to you." I smiled at his response, and almost saw him as more than a superstar.
