Beyoncé POV
"When we get in here y'all better behave."
"Yes ma'am."
"Aubri don't you jump in that pool without me or your TT being there."
"Okay."
"Dang girl. Let them have fun."
"They can have fun and act like they've been raised properly."
"And you call me the party pooper."
About thirty minutes later we pulled up to this huge house. It looked like five houses in one.
"Well look at you Mr. Cool.""Hey Rasheeda." he said hugging her. "Hey Laiya."
"Uncle MarMar we can swim?"
"Yeah, y'all come on. Nobody's here yet."
"Not even your dad?"
"Nah, him and his friends went to Vegas for the holiday."
"Sounds like Mr. Jackson."
"Hi Beyoncé."
"Hello."
"Mommy I'm hungry."
"Well it's not my house."
"You got chicken tenders Mr. MarMar?" Aubri said with her hand on her little hip. King and I just shook our heads.
"No but I have chicken. Is that close enough?"
She started rubbing her chin like she was thinking, Lord my child is a mess. "Yeah that'll work."
"Cool and you can just call me MarMar."
"Okay. Mommy can I have some chicken?"
"Yes, but first you need to put your towel down on a chair. Then wash your hands."
"Okay, where do I go?"
"I'll show you guys."
"Thank you."
We washed our hands and made our way back outside to fix them plates to eat. King made his own but what shocked me was Aubri didn't want me to help. She told Marquis to help her.
"Is it okay if I do?"
"Yeah, she's not allergic to anything."
"Come on MarMar." she said pulling his hand.
"I'm coming Aubri."
"Looks like Aubri likes him." Rasheeda said coming up next to me.
"Yeah, she's a friendly child. King on the other hand doesn't want any man near me."
"He still waiting on his dad?"
"I don't think so. He never saw me and Julius physically get into it but you know kids can always tell when something is wrong. After every fight, he would come in my room and lay with me."
"Awww he's so sweet."
"When we finally left, he asked me if I was going to cry anymore." I took a deep breath, "I can't put them through that again."
"Well Marquis isn't like that."
I rolled my eyes playfully, "Let's go get some food."As the day went on, more and more people showed up. It was a huge backyard so it wasn't uncomfortably crowded. The kids were playing in the shallow end where I could keep an eye on them. King jumped in and splashed water on Aubri and she started hollering like he just hit her. She got out and came running to me fake crying, you know when kids make that crying noise with no tears coming out.
"Slow down and stop running Aubrielle."
"Mommy brother got water in my face." she whined.
"You're in the pool. If you don't want water in your face then stay out and come sit by me."
"Noooooo."
"Then stop whining and go play."
"Can you come with me?"
"I need to change first." She grabbed my hand and we went in the house. I took my cover up off and folded it neatly placing it in the bag. We walked back outside and I swear men have a freaking sixth sense to detect when a girl is half naked.
"Dammmm BB! You look good sis!""Stooooppp." I whined.
"Oh girl hush. Come on and get in this water. It's hot out here."
I jumped in to get used to the water temperature, "It's cold."
"You'll get used to it."
"Catch me mommy!" Aubri said smiling.
"Okay, I'm ready." She jumped in and came up giggling. See I told y'all wasn't nothing wrong with her. Just a little drama queen.
"Mommy come race me."
"King I wouldn't do that. Ya mama here is like a mermaid in the water."
"Mommy you know Ariel?" Aubri asked.
"No baby." I giggled.
"I can beat her. I'm fast like a shark." King said all confident.
"Don't say I ain't warn you." she said throwing her hands up.
"Where we racing to?"
"From this side to the other side."
"That's too short. Let's race from the middle to the end."
"Okay."
"Bey don't be cheating my nephew!" Rasheeda said.
"Girl ain't nobody going to cheat."
"Yeah, like you never used to cheat us when we were kids."
"Y'all were just slooooww."
"I'm going to beat you mommy."
"We'll see."
"On your mark.......set........go!" Rasheeda yelled.
We both took off swimming but King's floaties were slowing him down. He sure was trying his hardest but of course ya girl won. King stopped and started pouting. My kids must be a pouting mood today.
"Boy you better finish this race." I said laughing at his mad face.
"You already won."
"I don't care. You start something, you finish it until you're done." He made his way to the edge and tried to move from me. "King, look at me. You're not always going to win. Mommy is really good at swimming so she won. But you beat me a lot of times on bowling on the Wii. You don't see me pouting."
"Okay."
"We good?"
"Yeah." he smiled. We did our little handshake.
"Good. Now go play with your cousin and sister."
He swam away and Rasheeda came over, "Tired ain't you."
"Hell yeah!" she started laughing. "I haven't swam like that since we were little."
"If he didn't have them floaties on he could have got you."
"I don't know about all that now."
"The boy swims like you."
"Whatever, he got a hot tub?"
"Mhm. Why you asking?"
I looked at her, "Because I want to get in. Duh."
"It's over there with the indoor pool."
"He got an indoor pool too?"
"Yup. He likes to be in the water just like you." I rolled my eyes, "What?"
"I see what you're trying to do."
"I no do nothing." she said sounding like a kid.
"Whatever, you think he'll mind?"
"Go ask him."
"I'm good right here."
"You so annoying. I'm about to get a drink, you want something?"
"Bring me back a Seagram's Lime Melonade."
"Got you."A few minutes had passed and that heffa still didn't bring me my drink. I got out the pool and went to the cooler to grab one just to see they were out. I dried off and went in the house because I knew it had to be some in here somewhere.
"What you looking for?" I turned and saw Marquis.
"A wine cooler. There weren't anymore in the cooler outside."
"The kitchen is the other way."
"You don't care about me wandering through your house?"
He looked me up and down then licked his lips, "You right. Let me show you, wouldn't want you stealing nothing."
I hit his arm, "I ain't no thief."
"I don't know you, remember?"
"Hmph. You don't."
We made it to the kitchen and he handed me a drink. "What if I wanted to get to know you?"
"Marquis."
"I know you're still trying to recover from these past few years."
"I am."
"I can respect that. Look, I'm not trying to pressure you into anything. You said words didn't mean anything, so let me show you." he took a step towards me and I backed up.
"Marquis, I'm not ready for that yet."
"Just one night. There's this governor's ball next weekend, I'd love for you to accompany me. We can even go as friends, and nothing else."
"I don't know Marquis."
"You don't have to give me an answer right now."
I smiled flexing my dimple, "Uh, thanks for the wine cooler."
"Mommy!"
"King stop yelling in people's house."
"Sorry. Can we have a popsicle?"
"Sure, ask your TT to get it for you."
"She told me to ask you."
"Come on." I said grabbing his hand about to leave.
"Beyoncé, before I forget." I turned my head, "You look beautiful." I smiled and left out.Marquis wasn't lying when he said he had a good view for the fireworks show. Everybody had left already and it was only me, Rasheeda, him, and the kids left. Aubri and Laiya were both sitting comfortably in Marquis's lap gazing up at the sky. King sat in between my legs, as I sat on a beach chair next to Rasheeda.
"This view is amazing."
"Yeah, it is."
"Look mommy." Aubri pointed happily.
"I see it baby."
"Mommy can I play with my water gun?" King asked.
"Where you get that from?"
"Out the bucket over there."
"No, when this is over we're leaving."
"Bey?" I turned and Rasheeda sprayed me with a bunch of water.
"RASHEEDA!" Everyone turned and looked at me then started laughing.
"She got you good BB!" Laiya said through laughter.
"I just had to." She said still laughing.
"I'm getting you back." I went over to the bucket and grabbed a water gun. It was water balloons in here too. Oh it's on now.
"Aye, wait!" she said. "Let's do teams, me, King and Laiya against you, Aubri, and MarMar."
"Cool." I sprayed her ass right in the face.
"I said wait girl!"
"That was payback!" I said laughing.
We had a full blown water fight, in the dark, while the fireworks were displayed. We made the kids put their floaties back on because we ended up pushing each other in the pool. We didn't pop fireworks, ourselves, tonight, but there's always New Years. Overall, I had a great time today. I can honestly say this has been the most fun and relaxed I've been since we've been in L.A.Another one🤗
But should Beyoncé take him up on his offer🤔
Comment. Vote.
Stay Blessed😇💖
