Bey POV

"Alright, that's it for today."
"Thank you so much Dr. Miller. I really enjoy these sessions."
"You know I'm here for you whenever you need me. Now go on and get out of here before you're late."
"Okay, see you next Wednesday."
I jumped in the car, and of course there's traffic, "Hello."
"Ma, where are you?"
"I'm just leaving Dr. Miller's office. I'm on my way."
"The game starts in forty five minutes-"
"King. Calm down. I'm going to be there, I've never been late and I'm not going to start today."
He took a deep breath, "Okay."
"Now, did your sisters and father bring you your snacks?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay well just go out there and warm up like you need to. I'll be there okay baby."
"Yes ma'am. Love you."
"I love you too."

I was zipping in and out of traffic and made it with three minutes to spare. "Ma!" he said running over to hug me. "You made it!"
"Of course, now let's pray." Before every game, I say a prayer with King and his team and one with just us to keep him calm.
"Thanks Mrs. Jackson."
"No problem, good luck coach!" I made my way over to the stands to sit with my husband and our daughters.
"Hey babe."
"Hi baby." I kissed his lips. "Where's Shawn?"
"Sitting over there with Aubri." he pointed, I waved.
"Mommy, you missed it."
"Missed what Kenzie?"
"Some lady was trying to push up on daddy. Must be from the other school because she was trying really hard to be his friend." I looked over at him.
"Please rise for playing of the National Anthem."
"Come on y'all let's stand up." Marquis said. We stood and let that lil song play but I wanted to hear the rest of this story.
"So anyways, Aubri came out of no where and told the lady to back up." she said laughing. "She got red so fast and was stumbling over her words. She was trying so hard that he couldn't even get a word in."
"I shut it down before it got any further. I just held my hand up and the lady looked embarrassed and left."
"Hey BB!"
"Hey Laiyaaaa!" I said as her and my sisters made their way up the bleachers. "How are you?"
"Good, where's- never mind. I'll see y'all after the game." she made her way over to Aubri and Shawn.
"Hello my beautiful family." Solange said.
"Hey y'all." Rasheeda said sitting down. "They just started?"
"They about to do tip off." Marquis said focused on the court.
"They here?" I asked.
"Yeah they're sitting on the other side so he won't notice since he's always looking up here."
I nodded and we continued to watch the game. This is King's sophomore year in high school and it's the state championship game. They came out on top and won by three points. The team took their pictures and they were presented with hats, shirts and the big trophy. I'm so proud of these young boys. They worked hard all season and it paid off.
"WE WON MA! WE WON!!" King said running over to us.
"You did so good baby!" I said wrapping him up in a hug. "I have a surprise for you." I turned him around.
"Grandma and Grandpa!" he ran over and gave both my parents a hug. "I didn't know y'all were coming."
"It was a surprise. You played so good King." my mama said smiling.
"I'm proud of you kid." my daddy said.
"What's up King! You did great my boy! Fifteen points and you're only going to get better." Shawn said coming over with Aubri.
"Thanks dad!" he said and they dapped each other up.
"Hey everybody."
"Hey Shawn." we said back.
"You coming out to eat with us, right?" King asked.
"For sure man, that's cool with y'all."
"Shawn you know it is." Marquis said dapping him up. "We're going to Water Grill."
"I'll meet y'all there."
"Mama, can I ride with him?" Aubri asked.
"If it's okay with-"
"Mama, my daddy don't care if I ride with him."
"Fine Aubrielle but you're not staying so don't ask later. It is the middle of the week and you have school in the morning."
We all went our separate ways and met at the restaurant.

"Mommy, can we get dessert?"
"McKenzie, you always asking for dessert before dinner like my answer is going to magically change."
"One day it might." she shrugged.
"King I saw you did well today." Mama G said. She couldn't come to the game physically but she had the tvs at the diner on the game. "I'm soooo proud of you baby."
My baby is smiling so big right now, "Well you know me, and thank you Mama G."
"You know you can have whatever you like this weekend."
"Oh Lord, there she go." I said laughing.
"Hush Bey, it's in the grandparent's handbook to spoil our babies." my mama said.
I just shook my head, that's why all three of them are spoiled now. We ordered, talked and then King gave a little thank you speech.
"I just want to thank all of y'all for coming to my game. It's been a long journey and road to get here but I made it. I know it was in the middle of the week and day, so I really do appreciate y'all for coming out to support me. It means more than y'all know."
"We wouldn't miss it bubba." Aubri said smiling.
"Right, we love you bubba." Kenzie said as they both got up to hug him.
"Awwwww. Don't move. I need to get this picture." I said tearing up a little. I took several pics until Marquis said that was enough. Those are my babies, I can't help it. We finished up and then went home.
