Beyoncé POV

I felt my phone vibrating. I ignored it and tried to continue to rest. A few seconds later it continued to vibrate. I sat up and answered it.
"Hello."
"Giselle, where are you?"
"I'm at home mama."
"Come open this door." Click.
I looked down at the phone and made my way to the front door. "Hey."
"You know the kids get out of camp in an hour. Why you still in here sleep?"
"I'm tired ma. I've been working a few extra hours this whole week."
"Have you given that boy an answer?"
"I'm not going."
"Why not?"
I shrugged, "I don't want to be around a bunch of stuck up people for hours. And I don't have a dress to wear anyways."
"Giselle, come on now. That man really likes you."
"So."
"So I think you should give him a chance."
"Nope. Not happening. I'm straight."
"Why not? Listen, you can't punish a good man for the horrible mistakes of a bad man."
"And why not?"
"Because that isn't fair to him. Imagine, a man says all women are hoes because one woman had a baby by another man while she was in a relationship with him. Now is that fair?"
"No but-"
"Okay then."
"I still don't have a dress and I don't have money to be wasting on one for one night either." She smiled at me, "No."
"I'm calling her."
"No please don't."
"Hurry up. Go put some clothes on. I'll take you to get the kids."

I signed the kids out, including Laiya because Rasheeda asked me to pick her up as well. We walked out to the car and I helped them in the backseat. Mama G drove to the mall so I could drop Laiya off but everybody got out the car.
"Hey my babies!" Rasheeda said giving them all hugs and kisses.
"Why is it empty in here?" I asked looking around.
"I closed early today upon a request." I looked at her and she had a smirk on her face.
"Mama I told you no."
"Girl, your sister owns this nice store with plenty of things for you to choose from."
"Yeah Bey. I'm not about to let you stand my friend up."
"I'm not standing him up. I never even agreed to go, I said I'd think about it."
"Child please. You weren't even going to call him."
"I was."
"When? Tomorrow?" I sighed, "Call him and tell him you're going."
"I don't want to." I whined.
"Mommy did you take a nap today?" I looked at my youngest child, "Because you need one."
"Beyoncé Giselle, go call him and let him know you're coming."
"What if he asked someone else already?"
"wHaT If hE aSkEd SoMeOnE eLsE headass."
"He could have."
"But he didn't."
"Fine."
"Okay people. Operation find Beyoncé a dress is a go." Rasheeda clapped.
"Ms. G do I have to help?" King asked. "This is girly stuff."
"You want your mommy to be pretty right?" He nodded. "Then let's go find her something."
I went in her office and sat down to dial his number. It rang three times before he answered. "Hello."
"Uh.... hey it's Beyoncé." I hesitated.
"Yeah, I figured it was when your name popped up on the screen." he chuckled. "What's up?"
"I know this is short notice but I'll go with you tonight."
".......Really?"
I nodded, "Yeah really."
"You don't sound too sure."
"I'm sure."
"Hey, remember I said we can go as friends."
"Okay."
"Where should I pick you up?"
"My-" the phone was snatched from my hand.
"Hey MarMar this is Rasheeda. Yes, you can pick her up from my house. What time does it start? Perfect. Be at my house at 7:45. Bye now."
"That was rude."
"Blah. Come on we don't have time to waste. We've got a couple of hours to get you ready for your date."
"It's not a date. We're simply going as friends."
"Sure. But let's go we already have some dresses for you to try on."
I walked out and went to try on tons of dresses. After about an hour of trying things on and getting approvals from everyone, I finally found the dress.

We all went back to Rasheeda's house to help me prepare for the evening. I swear they pampered me like a princess. All of this seemed extreme for a friend accompanying another friend to a ball. Rasheeda did my makeup while Mama G did my hair. I told them I didn't want anything too bold. Simple and sweet was what I was going for.
"Stop moving."
"I want to see."
"We're not finished yet."
"Giselle move one more time, ya hear?"
I pouted, "Your makeup is going to be ugly. Relax your face." I relaxed.
A few minutes later, and they were finished. I slipped into my dress and slid my heels on as well. When I was ready to walk out, King waited at the door to escort me out.
"You look really pretty mommy."
"You think so?" He nodded smiling. "Thank you baby." I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek.
We walked out, "Now, presenting mommy!"
