Beyoncé POV

"Aubrielle, what you doing baby?"
"I drawing a picture of my family."
"You can finish it later but right now I need you to go put your shoes on."
"We see daddy?"
"Maybe."
"But I want to see him." she whined.
"Aubrielle go put your shoes on or I will leave you here."
"I got the bags in the car, y'all ready?"
"Yeah, King and Aubri come on!"
"I'm going to miss you."
"Are you really?" He nodded and pulled me into a hug. He put his face in the crook of my neck and nibbled on my shoulder. I pushed him a little but he didn't move. "Marquis." I moaned.
"What?"
"Move, please."
He lifted his head, "Too much?"
"Yeah. I'm still n-"
"You're not ready. I get it."
"I'm trying."
"I hear you."
"Mommy we're ready!"
"MarMar are you coming with us?"
"Not this time Aubri." He picked her up and carried her outside. I grabbed King's hand and locked his door.
"Will you be lonely?"
"I'll be good."
"Mommy take my picture in front of the car."

"King what type of pose?" I laughed

"King what type of pose?" I laughed.
"That's how you act cool."
"Oh Lord. Get in the car." Marquis opened our doors and drove us to the airport. When we arrived Mama G was already outside waiting for us. We got out and the airline people helped bring our bags inside. After I checked them, we were on our way to the security checkpoint.
"Mommy come on!" Aubri said excitedly.
"Hold on. Y'all say bye to MarMar." They gave him a hug and Mama G took them to the side to give us some privacy. "Well this is it."
"You sure you're going to be alright?"
"I'll be with Mama G. I should be fine."
"I'm talking about being in Florida."
I exhaled, "It's only for a few days."
"Remember, he's locked up for good. He's never getting out."
"I know."
"You going to see him?"
"Aubri wants to see him and it'll be good for King to get back on better terms with him."
"And you?"
"Me?"
"Do you want to see him?" I looked at him confused, "Beyoncé, I feel like that's why you won't go there with me fully."
"What?"
"A little part of you wants to be a family again with him. I mean now that he knows that they're both his. Listen, I really like you but I can't compete with the history y'all share."
I shook my head, "That's not true."
"Listen, after this trip, let me know who you want." he kissed my forehead. "I'll see you when you get back."

Let me catch y'all up a little. So after the argument and Shawn storming out, the DNA test came back and proved that Aubri was indeed Shawn's. Almost everyday since then, he's FaceTimed the kids before and after school. Aubri just fell in love immediately. King has slowly start to come around. Shawn has even come to visit twice since he left. On Thanksgiving he invited us down but I had already made plans to spend it with Marquis and Rasheeda. Speaking of Marquis, we're still taking things slow. Last night was the first time we've done anything sexually, but we didn't have sex. I'm not stuck on Shawn, I just don't deem myself worthy of a relationship considering my past.
"We're going in the clouds mama!"
"I see baby."
"I'm hungry." King said.
"You want a sandwich?" Mama G asked.
"Yes ma'am." She ordered him a sandwich and he ate it.
"Giselle when we get there we'll have time before the dinner. If you want to take the kids to see their father you can."
"I don't know if he'll be home."
"I haven't met the boy but from what you've told me, he's trying to step up."
"He has."
"Then it's settled."
We landed a few hours later. "Where we going mommy?" Aubri asked.
"You want to see daddy?"
"Yes! Yes!" she clapped excitedly.
"Is he at home?" King asked
"He should be. You going to be respectful?"
"I will for you and Aubri."
I sighed, "I know it's not the same, but he's trying baby."
"I guess."
I called his phone but he didn't answer. Today he should be off, from what he told me. But we all know how that goes. The car drove us to his apartment.
"My daughter lives here."
"She does?"
"Yes, but she's not at home. She went out with her friends last night and stayed the night at her house."
"I'll be back." I went to knock on the door and he didn't answer. "I guess he's not at home."
"I knew it."
"Hey, we still have a few days here."
"Daddy not home?"
"No baby girl. We'll try tomorrow."
