Shawn POV

"We're going to eat Aubri." I said for what seemed like the billionth time.
"With who daddy?"
"You don't know them so it doesn't matter."
"Daddy I-"
"Aubrielle."
"Okay."
"Dad, what we doing this weekend?"
"Well after dinner we can go back to my hotel and have a movie night."
"Tomorrow can we go to the water park?"
"Water park?"
"Yeah daddy! Can we go to Raging Waters? It's sooo much fun!" Aubri said excitedly.
"Y'all don't have swimsuits with you."
"You can buy us new ones."
I thought about it, "Aubri you can get your hair wet?"
"Uhm-"
"She has to wear a swimming cap because she don't like getting it combed out after."
"Shut up King!" she yelled at him.
"Hey, calm down."
"I don't want to wear it daddy."
"You'll let somebody comb it out?" she nodded her head. "Okay then."

A few minutes later we pulled up to the restaurant. I told them Chilis because it's more relaxed and I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable meeting them. Hell, it'll be both of their first time meeting them. It's been too long and I want my kids to have a relationship with my parents.
"Welcome to Chilis, table for three?"
I looked around and spotted them, "No thank you. I see who I'm looking for. Come on y'all."
"Hey my favorite son!" my mom said when reached the table.
"Hey ma." I said giving her a hug. "Sup dad."
"Hey Corey."
"This is King and Aubrielle. King and Aubrielle this is my mom and dad."

"Hi

"Hi." Aubri waved shyly.
"Hi baby. You're so pretty." my mom said.
"Thank you."
"And King you've gotten big since the last picture I saw of you."
"You got pictures of me?"
"Yes, when you were little."
"Y'all sit down." my dad motioned us into the booth. "What do y'all want to eat?"
"Wait, are you guys allergic to anything?"
"King is allergic to cherries but Aubri isn't allergic to anything."
"Cherries?" he asked.
"Yeah, I get really sick."
"Daddy can I get macaroni?"
"Sure, King you know what you want?" he nodded. "Okay, well we're ready."
The rest of the night went smooth. The kids seemed to like them and my parents were receiving of them. Now I just have to get my mom and Beyoncé on the same page so they can go visit them in Houston.

Beyoncé POV

"I want the big teddy bear!"
"Can I have the big purple teddy bear please?" The man reached up and pulled it down for us. "What do you say?"
"Thank you."
"Woo that was fun." Solange said as we left.
"So when do you find out if you make partner?"
"Next month. I'm so nervous BB."
"Why? You're good at what you do."
"I'm a young black woman competing against these middle aged white men. I just want them to give me a chance."
"I understand."
"I'm sleepy."
"You can sleep on the way home." I said picking her up and putting her in the back seat.
"Does Shawn know?"
"Know what?"
"About lil mama in the back?"
"I told him I was pregnant."
"And?"
"And it's not his business Solange."
"I mean it isn't but-"
"But what? She's not his daughter, end of story."
"You sure about that? Because from what you told me..."
I sighed, "My kids are my business. Their fathers are in their lives, that's all that matters."
I looked in my rear view mirror and seen the black truck following me. I panicked immediately because my child was in the back seat. "BB!"
"Huh?"
"I said where you going? You just missed the exit."
"It's happening again." I whispered.
"What's happ-"
"The truck. That's the same truck that King saw."
She glanced back, "Call him."
"He's not here."
"I don't care. Call him." She looked in the back seat, "Kenzie is back there Beyoncé."
I dialed his number, "Hello?"
"The truck."
".....Where are you?"
"On my way to your house." I said stumbling over my words.
"You remember the back way?"
"Mhm."
"Don't take my exit, take the one after. Text me when you make it. I'll be there in an hour. You alone?"
"I have Kenzie and Solange with me."
"Where are the kids?"
"Shawn has them."
"Alright well text me when you're safe. Try to be calm."
"I can't-"
"Breathe. Your sister is with you."
"What if he took them?"
"Call to check on them when you make it because I know how you'll get."
"Okay." I hung up the phone and did what he said. I took the exit and flashed my ID for the guard at the back entrance and took a few extra turns just in case they made it past him. I pulled into the garage and we got out going into the house.
