Jong Suk POV

With no preparations and tools, Soo Yeon and I fought the battle to save a life in that abandoned quiet chamber that King TaeJo had gifted.

"You can do it Soo Yeon! Just a little more!!" I encouraged when the tiny head of the infant popped out from her vagina.

At the moment, the door to Soo Yeon's chambers bursted open and I directed my attention to see Yuri and RiNa. Both wide eyed and dumbfounded at the current scene they had ran into.

"Don't just stand there! Help us!" My desperate shoutings reaches them and RiNa rushed out to fetch warm water and fresh towels; while Yuri came over to my side to help.

"What the hell happened?!" Yuri was screaming at the top of her lungs as she fidgeted around nervously.

"Save the talk for later!" I scolded as I instructed her to go to Soo Yeon's side.

"Soo Yeon ah! Sorry...I am sorry for arriving late! We had so much things to do at the last minute that we couldn't even visit you! Hang in there!!" The nervous cries of Yuri gave encouragement to Soo Yeon as she took a deep breath and gave her last push.

The baby's cries rang throughout the entire room as the three of us all heaved a sigh of relief that the horrifying trial had ended. I wiped the blood off the baby's face as I struggled not to choke on my tears.

"S...so beautiful..." I sort of cry and laughed at the same time as I looked at the precious baby in my arms. The baby who could have died if I hadn't came in time to witness the situation in the chamber.

"Soo Yeon ah, look at your baby..." I moved towards at the exhausted girl and at one glance of her baby, she fainted.

"Soo Yeon ah!!" RiNa came just in time with the necessities and all of us cried for her.

It was one hell of an experience and memory for all of us as it would float on to my mind from time to time to remind me that I have to protect A-Yeon even more until the day the truth may be revealed.

A tear fell from my eyes and stained on the beautiful letter and I quickly wiped off with my finger. I folded the piece of letter and held it close to my heart as I secretly missed the woman that I've longed to see 16 years ago.

"A-Yeon will definitely enter the palace. Just as you wish, Soo Yeon ah." I promised with determination, the moon being a witness of my vow.

A-Yeon POV

"Entering the palace will be good for you."

Father's message kept ringing in my mind since yesterday. Though the bustling streets along the river was noisy and lively, that was the only thing I could hear from my current state. I stared afar towards the river blankly as I sat on a rock dazed.

"Look who's fishing here? It's amazing how each time we meet, you're affiliated with animals. Do you really enjoy killing them?" I heard a familiar voice blabbering to me but I was too distracted by my own thoughts.

"Oho, now you're resorting to ignorance as well. How rude." The bug was still buzzing around and I was still not responding.

A thug from the fishing rod I was holding on to brought me back to reality and I quickly reacted to it. "Oh no..." I stood up abruptly and tried to control the rod but sadly the fish got away.

"Ah seriously!!" I was frustrated as I dropped the rod harshly on to the pebbles. My attention directed towards Baekah who was staring at me in amazement with that smug grin of his. "You! It's all your fault!" I pointed to his face in annoyance.
