A-Yeon POV
A-Yeon means beautiful.
Baekah's compliment floated in my mind all of a sudden and I was not oblivious to my surroundings until I collided with a certain person.
"Ah, sorry!" I got back my senses and quickly kneeled down to pick up the dropped fruits. There were a bunch of oranges, bananas and dragonfruit that had rolled out from the basket.
"I am terribly sorry for not paying attention! Please forgive me!" I bowed towards the young lady as I passed her the items.
"Aigoo, how are you being so careless? Now the fruits are all dirty!" Another lady standing beside the girl grumbled as she glared at me fiercely. She was dressed a little more casual as compared to the first girl; and she seemed as if she was the servant.
Peculiarly, the servant was more agitated as compared to the lady while the lady simply had a look of uncertainness.
"I apologise, it was not intentional!" I was flabbergasted as I stared towards the two ladies embarrassed.
"Miss Haesoo, let's go." The servant cling her arms with the girl named Haesoo and quickly walked off. I turned towards their direction as I met with the eyes of Haesoo. Somehow, I felt a weird feeling when I looked at her but I could not describe what it was.
The house was peaceful as I stepped inside and I awkwardly announced that I was home to father. Honestly, I was still unsure how I should greet him after yesterday's conversation. I knew father meant good for me when he insisted me to work in the palace.
I slid open the door to his room but surprisingly, he was not inside.
"Maybe he went to the toilet?" I wondered to myself as I allowed myself in to the room. It was the same cramped room with all the paintings and drawings father had drew during his free time. A heartwarming feeling arises within me as I glanced around the room; taking in each and every corner in to my mind knowing I'd probably wouldn't be able to come here any sooner.
The same flowered pattern letter laid quietly on the brown desk and a surge of curiosity prompted me to take a peek of the details. My hands reached out for it and I gently picked it up, digesting the beautiful pattern imprinted on the nice smelling paper.
To Jong Suk oppa,
It is time.
From, Court Lady Oh
"What's the meaning of this? Court Lady Oh? Who's that?" I furrowed my brows as I dug through my memory, trying to remember if I had ever met any Court Lady Ohs throughout the years. Other than Aunt Yuri which I knew was a Court Lady in the palace; I don't know any other people.
"A-Yeon ah, you're back." I jumped at the sound of father's voice and quickly hid the letter behind my back. He's going to get upset if he knew I peeked in to his things without his permission. He'd always never let me read any of his letters.
"You..." Father's eyes grew wide when he saw the letter behind my back and he anxiously reaches his arm towards me. "Did you read the content?!"
"F-father..." I stuttered at his sudden behaviour.
"Answer me! What did you saw?!" He raised his voice while he looked intensely into my eyes.
"I-it read 'it's time'...father, I'm sorry. I shouldn't invade your privacy like this!" I handed back the letter and bowed regretfully.
I heard a sigh from father as he gently took back the letter. "Anyway, it's none of your business so you shouldn't think too much." He said as he walked past me to take a seat behind the desk.
