A-Yeon's POV
I guided Hae Soo to the room where Chae Ryung had been locked up in. She had wanted to talk to Chae Ryung, hoping to clear some misunderstandings. I waited outside nervously as Hae Soo entered the room. The door closes in front of me and I silently prayed that nothing would go wrong.
But only a few minutes had passed and I'm already hearing Chae Ryung shouting.
"You wouldn't understand me! You had everything you need but I am merely a servant who wanted someone to care and love me!"
I had the impulse to rush in to the room to flick the sense out of Chae Ryung to find out what the heck was wrong with her. She was in no position to shout at Hae Soo after getting her in to trouble! While Hae Soo was out in the cold as a water maid, she was in the palace living the good life!
And then I heard a smack sound which was totally uncalled for. That moment I couldn't wait any longer and I opened the door, ready to give Chae Ryung a piece of my mind only to find that it was Hae Soo who had slapped Chae Ryung.
Chae Ryung caressed her red cheek, her body slumped on to the ground weakly. Hae Soo's body was shaking and her breathing was hard as she glared painfully at her best friend.
"I don't want to see you again." She suddenly said in a cold tone and turned to walk out of the room, her shoulders banging on to mine slightly as she ran away.
"H-Hae Soo ah...!" I cried out after her, absolutely stunned that things had went down this way.
I glanced towards the poor servant who had already given up in hope for the last time and hurried after Hae Soo; in fear that she might do something unpredictable.
When I arrived at the main hall, almost everybody was gone and Prince Wang So, along side Ji Mong the astronomer was standing in the middle of the place. In fact, Hae Soo was being hugged by Prince Wang So tightly.
"Why are you here?" I asked confusingly as I looked at the three of them.
"Princess Hwa Yeon, it's too dangerous to be here. We need to leave the palace now." Ji Mong sounded really panicky as he told me to run.
"What do you mean by that?!"
Responding to my lost self, Prince Wang So simply gave a brief explanation of things. "King Jeong Jong had decided to strike. All of the ministers in the court room had been killed by him in the morning."
"What?! K-killed?!" Both Hae Soo and I gasped at the news and simply didn't know what to think of that.
"We must hurry, there's no time to lose!" Ji Mong shouted at us as he chases both Hae Soo and I out of the lot.
"W-wait! What about you?!" Hae Soo turned towards Prince Wang So in concern as he doesn't intend to follow us.
"Don't worry about you. I will find you in a second. Ji Mong ah, take care of the girls." He assured with a smirk and left Damiwon Palace.
There were sudden screams from the corridor that I had just came out from and all of the servants came running out in fear.
"Princess, there's an assassination!" My servant exclaimed, frightened.
"Chae Ryung!" Hae Soo gasped as she seemed to want to go over.
"No, it's too late for her. Let us go, hurry!" Ji Mong forbids as he forcefully pushes us out to the lawn.
We ran across the garden which a few bodies were already lying dead on the ground. Most of them had slashes on their bodies and it was terrifying to see.
