What should I do now? There's no one in the palace that I can trust to ask for help. Why will this happen to Hae Soo?!
After the confrontation with Princess Yeon Hwa, it was revealed that she accused Hae Soo out of jealousy for Prince Wang So.
This is so ridiculous. And the Queen actually believed Princess Yeon Hwa as well! I mean, why wouldn't she? All along she holds a grudge towards Hae Soo too...
"Ah!! This is so frustrating!" I groaned as I felt useless that I can't help my best friend even though I had the status of a princess. The status gave zero benefits to me and I'd rather not have such a grand name in such situation.
This can't do...I must find the root to this cause and get Hae Soo back in to the palace!
Having such determination, I marched my way towards a certain place. As I entered the gardens of the quarter, I was kind of shock to see such few servants in the house. Compared to Prince Wang Eun's place, here was eerily quiet and unwelcoming. The atmosphere was tense and heavy; and there seemed to be an invisible force that forbids people to move further in.
The astounded servants quickly bowed when they saw me, their expressions telling me they were not expecting a guest to visit. The servant in charge hurried over to address me in a shaky tone.
"G-good evening Princess Hwa Yeon...what brings you h-here today?"
Taking a deep breath to calm myself down, I tell the servant to announce my arrival.
Here I go...the one person who can save Hae Soo is just inside. I will have to convince him!
"P-P-Princess...Hwa Yeon has arrived..." The servant announced softly and timidly as he waited for his master's orders.
My heart pounded fast as I waited for the acceptance outside the door.
Why does it felt like I'm going for an examination when I'm only here to find rescue?
There was a short silence before a low voice from within spoke. "Let her in."
The timid servant bowed and nervously opened the door for me. I bravely took a big step in and approached the man sitting on a chair with his back facing me. Surprisingly, Choi Ji Mong was in the room as well and he gave me a comforting smile which eases my tension for a while.
"Good evening Princess Hwa Yeon. I'm guessing you're here to talk about Hae Soo?" Just like the rumours said that he was able to read a person's mind, he guessed correctly about my reason of coming here.
"I..." As confident as I may be earlier, somehow I struggled to get the words out.
Don't be afraid A-Yeon ah. You came here for Hae Soo's sake!
"I really don't want to ask for your help but it seemed like there wasn't anyone which I could trust in this matter." I swallowed my pride and pleaded. "Please help Hae Soo!"
A long and excruciating silence followed after and I had hoped to dig a hole to hide my head in. But, a long sigh finally came out from Prince Wang So and he said, "I can't."
Not expecting the answer that I wanted, I frowned and questioned agitatedly. "Why not?! You're the reason why she got kicked out from the palace in the first place! So you must get her in!" I blamed.
Having that last straw that breaks his cool, Prince Wang So stood up from his chair angrily and turned to me. He prowled towards me like a predator hunting for his prey.
"I...caused Hae Soo to get kicked out?" His low threatening voice and close proximity causes shivers down my spine as he stared in to my eyes; as if challenging me to say more of what needs to be told.
