Chapter 2
I got home with the dragon guy right behind me. I went around to the back door and unlocked it. Before opening it though, I swung around and confronted the strange guy. "Okay, so here is how it goes. I don't know you and at the moment I really don't trust you, so if you try anything I will rip your dick off and shove it up your ass. Do you understand me?" I asked him. Jayden growled emphasizing my point. He nodded his head and I thought I saw sadness flash in his eyes when I said I didn't trust him. He blinked and it disappeared. I opened the door and went inside, grateful for air conditioning after the long walk. He went and sat on the couch and I sat on the chair opposite him, laying my bag and purse beside it. Jayden laid down in front of me protectively, watching the stranger.
Nobody was home and I didn't feel like being ambushed if this guy really did have an ulterior motive. We waited a little while and soon the silence became too deafening for me and I pulled out my Eragon book, patting Jay on the head. He licked my hand in return and I giggled. They had just escaped from the Shade and that's where I started to read. Not two pages into my book he spoke to me.
"Are you afraid of me? If you are, you should not be. I won't hurt you, not like the other men you have known. I really am the dragon you saw. My name is Adrian and it is a pleasure to see you again Embarra," he said, almost purring my name. I was surprised that he knew me, although if you heard it once, it was hard to forget. I contemplated ignoring him, but gave up in search of answers.
"How do you know my name? I'm not afraid of you. I learned a long time ago, it doesn't help to be afraid. You have to be strong always. Prove to me you really are the dragon and that it didn't just fly away and leave you to swoop in acting like you are him," I said letting him know I wasn't afraid, just not trusting. He sighed then nodded his head.
"As you wish, but stand back. I don't want you to get hurt in case I lose control," he said. I stood up and took a few steps away from him, Jayden following closely in front of me. When I was a safe distance, his face started to contort. I gasped as his face lengthened and stretched as his mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. Three seconds later and his face was the face of the dragon. His emerald green eyes stood out from his gray scales like neon lights. I stared and he flicked his fork tongue out at me. It was so surprising, I picked up the closest object I could. It happened to be a glass ashtray and made a weighty object to throw. I chunked it at his head. He dodged it with ease and started stalking me. I backed away quickly and ran into the wall. Jayden started growling and barking at him as he got closer and closer. He went to lunge at him, but changed his mind at the last minute and came to stand in front of me protectively. He stalked right up to me, shoving Jayden out of the way, while caging me in with his arms.
I stared at him and saw a war going on in his eyes. They were flickering back and forth from the dragon eyes to his human ones. He buried his face into the crook of my shoulder and took several deep breaths. He nuzzled and licked my bare shoulder, sending shivers through my body. When he finally pulled away from me, his facial features had contorted back into his human form. The only tell-tail sign that he had changed were his eyes, which were still emerald green and soon, even that changed to hazel. He looked down at me for a moment and leaned down. He put his lips to mine and kissed me...hard!
