~Sans' POV~

"Sans, Papyrus, this way!" Frisk yells as she motions for us to follow her.
The three of us have spent almost every day together since the day that monsters returned to the surface world.

It's actually been 8 years now. At first, the humans were terrified of us. They didn't want us living on the surface. However, Asgore (King of the monsters), Frisk (being the ambassador between our two species), and the leader of the humans came to a compromise. We monsters were able to live on a very large island, one with plenty of room for all of us. The island soon became connected to the human land by a large bridge so that humans and monsters could come and go to each others' lands by boat or car. It wasn't what everyone had hoped for, but at least human and monsterkind have come a lot closer together since then.

"Come on, slowpokes!" Frisk yells once again, walking quite a significant distance in front of us.
"I'll have you know, The Great Papyrus is not slow!"
Frisk turns around and smiles teasingly. "Whatever you say, Pap."
I notice my brother's face gaining a bright yellow-orange glow.
(He's so cute when he's embarrassed) I think to myself. "C'mon lazy bones," I joke, patting my taller brother's back.
"I AM NOT LAZY!" He yells, running ahead to catch up with Frisk.
I chuckle, picking up my pace as well.
The three of us walk along until we come to an area full of trees.
"What's this?" Papyrus asks.
"It's a nature Park," Frisk informs him, smiling.
"Ooh, is this were a bunch of cute little animals live?"
"It sure is!"
Papyrus' eyes light up. "Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go in!"
Papyrus grabs Frisk's hand and runs inside, leaving me alone at the entrance.
"Heh, he's such an innocent boy." I murmur to myself, slowly walking in through the trees. In the center of the small forest, there's an area with four benches. I take a seat on one of them, leaning back and closing my eyes.
"What is this creature? I haven't seen it on the island," Papyrus inquires enthusiastically.
I look over towards Frisk and Papyrus as she tells him the names of the little furry creatures running around the park. I notice the sparkle in my brother's eyes.
(When is he going to realize his feeling for her?) I think to myself. (I noticed how he felt over five years ago. I know he takes a while to catch on to things, but this is a bit unexpected even for him.)
"SAAAAANS!! Come look at this thing!" Papyrus yells, holding up the rabbit he had caught.
I stand up and start walking towards them. (Oh well, it's best for him to realize on his own anyway.)

The three of us hang out at the nature park until late in the evening. We wait until the sun starts to set before heading back to the island.
Papyrus and I had both learned to drive, making it much easier to commute to and from the human land. I decide to drive the three of us home so that Papyrus and Frisk can have some more quality time.
Once we got to the island, Papyrus and I dropped Frisk off at her home before returning to our own.
Walking in, I put the keys away and start walking towards my bedroom, when Papyrus stops me.
"Sans, may I talk to you for a moment?"
"Sure. What's on your mind?" I ask.
"I'd.. prefer if we sat down to talk about this."
I shrug and sit down on the brown living room recliner. Papyrus sits on the adjacent brown sofa.
"You know that, being the awesome being that I am, I never ask for advice. But.." he looks down nervously, "I have a question about emotions."
I smile, knowing how this conversation will go. "Sure thing, Pap. What're you curious about?"
"You see, it has to do with the human, Frisk. When we are around her, I feel happier than usual. I thought I was the only one who could make me happy!" he starts. "But when I'm with her, I constantly want to make her happy. I want to cook spaghetti for her every day. Is this normal?"
I sigh and smile at my younger brother. "Sounds like you've got a bad case of love, bro"
"L-love?!"
I nod. "Yeah, the emotion, love. It's pretty natural. Even someone as great as you can feel that way."
Papyrus stares at me for a moment before looking down thoughtfully. "Love..that's where people go on dates and kiss, right?"
"Yeah, that tends to happen when you're in love."
Papyrus blushes. "I see." He stands up and places his hands on his hips. "If I, The Great Papyrus, am indeed in love... I will love Frisk better than anyone ever could! NYEH HEH HEH!"
With that, he marches into his room.
I let out another long sigh. (Well, guess it's about time he realized it.)
I walk to my room, closing the door behind me. (Still...)
I walk over and pick up the photo album from my desk, sitting on my bed to flip through the pages. It's filled with photos of the three of us. Papyrus looks very happy in every one of them, as does Frisk. I stop at a photo of just Frisk and I, running my bony fingers over it. (It does hurt a little, knowing that he'll actually pursue her now.)
I sit the album down on my nightstand and lay down, closing my eyes. (Maybe if he never noticed, neither of us would be with her. Maybe she could find a nice human boy to be with.)
I open my eyes wide, surprised by my own thoughts. (What am I thinking? I should be happy for my brother! This is the first time he's admitted to being in love. Even though I know he liked Undine, he never told me about it. I don't even think he ever realized that himself.)
I roll onto my side, closing my eyes once again. An image of frisk and papyrus being happy together but she's into my head. (All I can do now is cheer him on. I can't be selfish.)
With that thought in mind, I fall asleep.
