~Frisk's POV~
"Mom, I'm here," I announce as I walk into her house.
"Ah, hello, Frisk! How was your time with Sans yesterday?"
"It was..okay. He took me to one of his special places; a place that he says he's never taken anyone else to."
I notice a bright smile appear on mom's face. "Well, you must be pretty important to him then, huh?"
"I..suppose.."
As if noticing that I feel uncomfortable, she changes the subject. "So, would you like to make a butterscotch-cinnamon pie with me? It's been quite a while since I've made one for you."
"Sure!"
The two of us head into the kitchen, put on our aprons, and begin cooking.
While we're cooking, I space out for a moment, thinking back to what Sans said yesterday at the pond.
"Hey, mom?"
"What is it, dear?"
"So you think that Sans and Papyrus will stay human forever?"
She hesitates, seeming to try thinking of the right words to say. "W-well, you see.." she starts, "this Friday is..actually the day that their spells wear off."
"You mean..they're changing back into monsters this week?!"
"I'm afraid so.."
I look at her in disbelief. "But..there has to be a way for them to stay human, right? Why else would they change in the first place?"
"The only way for them to remain human is for the person they love to return their feelings. I'm honestly a bit surprised that neither of them have told you any of this."
I become silent, sitting down at one of the chairs at the dining table.
I feel my eyes beginning to tear up. "Did you..ever figure out who Sans likes," I ask, not sure if I really want to know the answer.
Mom lets out a small chuckle. "Frisk, my child, you're a dense one..aren't you?"
I look up at her in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Frisk, you are the person that Sans likes."
"Wh-what??" I squeak, feeling my face heat up. "Th-there's no way!"
"Have I ever lied to you before?"
"N-no, but..if he really does like me, why didn't he ever say anything?"
"Frisk, honey, you're the first person that he has ever had romantic feelings for. It's only natural that he'd be afraid to tell you, don't you think?"
"I-I guess. But..does that mean that if I want to be with him, I'll have to be the one to confess?"
"I hate to say this, but I'm afraid that may be the case," she says, giving me an apologetic smile.
I cross my arms on the table and lay my head down on them. "I'm scared. What if he rejects me? What if I ask him and things get awkward between us?"
"With the relationship that you have right now, I doubt anything would become awkward. Besides, Sans is the kind of person who will crack jokes to ease up the mood."
"That's true.."
I let out a frustrated sigh. "I just..wish he would've said something to me about it. Even Papyrus tried getting him to confess!"
"Well, that's a bit..complicated."
"What do you mean," I ask, looking back up at her.
Mom joins me at the table, sitting adjacent to me. "You see..Sans originally thought that you had feelings for Papyrus. That's probably the biggest reason as to why he didn't confess."
"Papyrus..? But..he's like a brother to me. Sure, he's adorable, but I don't think of him in a romantic way. Besides, he's been getting along great with girls since he became human. He even has a girlfriend!"
"I know that it's hard to understand, but Sans hasn't confessed because he didn't want to hurt you if you liked his brother."
"That bonehead.." I say with a sigh.
Mom smiles and takes my hands into her own. "Frisk, there's something that I want you to really think about. If you want to be with Sans, the only way that you can do it legally is if you two confess your feelings before Friday. I know it is a lot of pressure, but you should try it; if it's really what you want."
I only nod in response.
"So," mom starts as she stands back up, "ready to finish that pie?"
I laugh a little, happy that she's trying to cheer me up. "Of course. We'll make the best pie ever created!"

The weekend passes by fast. Mom seemed to try keeping me distracted so that I didn't worry too much over what to do with my Sans situation.
Sunday night, I return home and go straight to my bed, staring at the wall.
(What am I going to do? I'm not sure how to ask him..)
I let out a sigh. "It shouldn't be too hard. Just say 'Hey, Sans..I have something to tell you..', and then confess. Should be easy, right?"
Suddenly, my phone rings, causing my to jump. I look at the display screen, which shows the familiar picture ID of Sans and I. Hesitantly, I answer it.
"H-hello?"
"Heya, kiddo. How was your weekend with Tori?"
"It was..pretty good.." I say awkwardly.
"Did something bad happen," he asks, seeming to notice the nervousness in my voice.
I feel my face flush. "N-no! Nothing at all!"
The line is silent for a moment.
(Crap..I think I said that too suspiciously..)
Finally, Sans says something.
"Well..I'm glad you had fun."
(Thank goodness he didn't say anything about how that sounded.)
"Th-thanks."
"So, if you're free tomorrow, would'ya like to go to our secret spot again?"
(The place we went the other day? It's really secluded there..but, maybe that's a good place to confess, since it's special to him.) "S-sure, sounds good."
"Alrighty. I'll be there in the morning, then. Does 10 work?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, see ya tomorrow."
"See ya."
After hanging up, I go back to staring at the wall. "Okay, Frisk. Don't be afraid. Mom already said that he likes me, and she's never lied to me before. Plus, with them being such close friends, it is likely that he'd tell her."
I close my eyes, preparing to go to sleep.
(Just be brave, Frisk. Be..Determined.)
