"SAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!" I hear Papyrus yell from the living room, waking me up.
"Nn..just five more minutes," I protest, rolling over and pulling the cover over my head. I start dozing back off, when I hear a loud bang, followed by being shaken violently.
"BROTHER, I NEED HELP!!"
I grab my younger brother's arms to stop him from shaking me and then sit up.
"With what," I ask, trying to hold back a yawn.
"The human! I don't know anything about love!! I mean, I went on a date with her once when we first met, but I didn't feel the same way as her at the time."
I sigh, rubbing my head. "I can't give you much help with that, bro. If you haven't noticed, I don't have any'body' either."
"Sans, now is not the time for your puns!"
I shrug, closing my eyes. "I'm serious, though. Why don't you ask someone with actual dating experience, like Tori or Undyne?"
He gasps, a gleam of hope flashing in his eyes. "That's IT! How did I not think of consulting Undyne with this? She's the one who would truly understand the importance of this!!"
He turns around, saying "Thank you, Sans!" as he walks out of my room, closing the door behind him.
I decide to lay back down.
(He really is finally serious about her, huh?)
I close my eyes, preparing to go back to sleep.
(As long as he'll make Frisk happy, then I'll be okay with letting her go.)
I lay thinking about the situation until finally falling back to sleep.
~Author's POV~
At Undyne's house, Papyrus stands banging on the front door.
"Who the hell is it this early in the morning?!" She yells.
The door swings open, revealing a very annoyed Undyne.
When she notices who it is, her expression softens.
"Hey Papyrus. Haven't seen you for a few days."
"Undyne, now is not the time for small talk! The Great Papyrus has come to you for advice."
"Uh..what kind of advice?"
"Love."
Undyne's eyes widen in surprise. She turns to yell, "Alphy, I'll be back in a bit," before stepping out and closing the door.
"Walk with me," she demands.
Papyrus has always looked up to Undyne; even so, he never really realized his true feelings for her, and, once she started dating Alphys, his feelings just kind of disappeared. Since then, they've often hung out together and became very close friends. He often goes to her for advice on, well, pretty much everything.
Being the former leader of the royal guard, her advice usually involves violence. However, her views on love are surprisingly quite passive and gentle.
Papyrus follows Undyne, trying to keep up with her quick pace. "Undyne, where are we going?" he asks.
"Nowhere in particular. I just like to walk while giving advice; it helps me think."
"Oh, I see. W-well, would you mind walking a little slower? It's..kind of hard to keep up.."
Undyne looks back at him and notices that he seems out of breath. "Sorry, Pap, It's a habit."
Once Papyrus catches his breath, they begin walking again, Undyne trying to match his pace this time.
"So, you want to know about love, huh? Who's the lucky gal?"
"She's, uh...frshk" he mumbles.
"Who?"
"F-Frisk.."
"Haha, about damn time," she exclaims.
"What do you mean?"
"Dude, you're so easy to read! The way you look at her, the way your eyes light up when you talk about her, it's obvious to a lot of people that you like her. We were all just waiting for you to notice it yourself."
Papyrus' face flushes a bright yellow-orange color. "H-how did everyone else notice my feelings before the Great Papyrus himself did?"
"Heh, you've always been that way, since I first met ya."
She laughs a little at Papyrus' embarrassed expression before sighing. "Anyway, Frisk seems like the kind of person who would be oblivious to someone liking her. So, you probably have to make a real move on her. Try writing her a love letter, that's what I did to get Alphys."
"But..wouldn't it be more special if I did it in person?" he inquired.
"It might be, but knowing you, it might be a bad idea."
"Why do you say that?!"
"Remember telling me about your first date with her? You said you were super nervous. Plus, you get flustered easier than you may think."
"Maybe you're right..but.."
As the two monsters are talking, they walk past the beautiful, large garden belonging to Asgore; once king of the underground. While sitting at the small, round, white table in the middle of his garden, he notices Undyne and Papyrus and calls out to them.
"Undyne! Papyrus! Why don't you come sit with me for a bit?"
"Asgore" Undyne shouts, "long time no see!"
The two of them walk on the grass walkway that goes directly through the center of his golden-colored flowers.
"Hello you two," he greets, "it's a beautiful day, isn't it? Birds are singing, the flowers are blooming; a perfect day for a walk!
"Sure is" Undyne agrees.
Suddenly, Undyne grabs Papyrus' arm and pulls him to the side, telling Asgore "hang on a second."
"What is it, Undyne?" Papyrus asks.
"Hey, why don't you ask Asgore for advice? He's been married after all."
"But..isn't he divorced now?"
"I CAN STILL HEAR YOU TWO," Asgore exclaims.
"I-I'm very sorry, Sir!" Papyrus apologizes.
Asgore lets out a sigh. "It's alright, Papyrus. I've gotten over it for the most part. Anyway, what is it that you need advice on?"
"Well, you see.." Papyrus hesitates, "I'm...in love with the human, Frisk."
For a moment, Asgore is silent, looking as if he's trying to think of the words to use. Finally, he lets out another large sigh, before saying, "I'm very sorry, Papyrus, but it's forbidden for humans and monsters to be in an intimate relationship. So, even if she did like you back, I'm afraid you could not be with her. Unless, of course, you could find some way to magically become human."
Papyrus' heart sinks. "But..why?"
"It's a rule that the leader of the humans wanted in place in order for them to allow us monsters back on the surface world. Besides, as a monster, you wouldn't be able to reproduce with her; or even kiss her, for that matter."
Papyrus looks down, seemingly defeated. "Become a human, huh..?"
Noticing how this news seemed to affect the skeletal monster, he quickly tries to change the subject.
"S-so, would you two like to join me for a cup of golden flower tea? It's freshly brewed!"
"Uhh..sure!" Undyne replies.
The monsters sit in two of the three remaining chairs surrounding the table. Asgore excuses himself from the table and hurries inside. He quickly returns with two beautiful flower-printed teacups. He pours tea in the cups and hands them to his company.
As Undyne and Asgore catch up, Papyrus is in his own world, trying to think of what he could possibly do to be with Frisk.
After half an hour, Papyrus stands up.
"I'm sorry, but I need to go home. I have to figure out what I'm going to do about my situation."
"Uh, sure..want me to go with you," Undyne offers.
"No, no, you two seem to be having fun! I'll be okay!"
With a smile, he says his goodbyes and walks home.
