(So..cold..) I think to myself as I start waking up. I sit up and rub my eyes.
(This is..strange. Why am I so cold?)
I look over towards Frisk, who is staring at me; concern portrayed on her face.
"Sans...your bones.." she says, looking at my body.
I look down at my hands. My skin is slightly translucent, enough for you to see my bones.
"I don't get it, what's going on..?" I ask, mainly talking to myself.

Last night, Frisk and I confessed our love for each other. The spell that allowed me to be human was set with the condition that a human and I fall in mutual love.
(But..we confessed to each other, so why am I turning back?)
"I need to go ask her what's going on!" I shout as I quickly stand up. "Ask who?" Frisk inquires.
"The witch..."
I hurry to the car and drive to the 'Otherworldly Shoppe', where Papyrus and I first met her.
After parking the car and walking in, I instantly spot the red-haired lady. No customers seem to be around, so I decide to call out to her.
"Excuse me, but I really could use some help with this."
The lady turns around and smiles at me. "Why, hello. Sans, wasn't it?"
"Yeah. I have a question about my..situation."
"Very well, please follow me into my office."
She leads me into the back room of the building. She sits down at a small, round table in the center of the empty room, and motions for me to do the same.
After I sit down, she begins talking.
"I'm assuming your love did not work out, and you would like more time.." she starts.
"No, it's actually more like she told me she felt the same way, we even kissed, and yet I woke up like this," I explain, pointing to my body.
"Ah, I see. So she says she feels the same. That is quite good. Since you are still returning to normal, though, it means you haven't truly expressed your love."
"What do you mean? She and I confessed that we loved each other. We even kissed!!" I yell out, still in disbelief.
"I am sorry, Sans, but the only true way to prove your love for each other, is to do something that only lovers do." The witch calmly states.
"Something lovers-- what do you mean?" I ask, giving her a look of confusion.
"The most logical conclusion would be intercourse, don't you think?" she asks in a mocking tone.
"Y-You mean..the only way for me to remain human is for us to..have sex?" I ask in shock.
"Yes," she bluntly states.
I stare at her for a few moments before laughing.
"Heh, you're pulling my leg, right?"
"No, I am quite serious."
I go silent for a moment before sighing.
"I can't ask that of her. She's still very young, and we only just realized our mutual love. Is there any way that the spell can be altered? Maybe I could return to being a human when we're ready to--"
"This spell is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It can never be performed on you again once you return to normal," she says, interrupting me. "Honestly, shouldn't you have asked more questions like this before having me turn you human?"
"But, at the time, I had planned on keeping my feelings hidden. I only agreed to become human because my brother was afraid to do so alone."
The witch looks at me with calm, caring eyes. "I can tell you're a noble man. To hide your love for someone because someone, whom you care about more than yourself, loves her as well..that's quite the sacrifice. However, there really is nothing that I can do at this point. Intercourse is the only way to truly prove your love. It is the purest act of love in the human world."
I look down, feeling defeated. "I see. Well, I still refuse to force her into anything that she doesn't want."
"..you truly are a good soul, aren't you.." the witch says, looking thoughtful. After another moment of silence, her expression turns serious.
"There is a spell I can use..to where you can do the act, yet she will not remember it the next day. It's a type of amnesia spell."
"Isn't that basically rape? Besides, I'd like for a moment like that to be special." I said, refusing.
"Look, it's the last option I can personally give you. It's either commit the act of love, or return to your normal self. It's up to you to decide."
I stand up, saying "Thank you, but I'd rather turn back to how I was than force her into something like that," before calmly walking out.
I get in the car and drive towards home. Once home, I sit in the car and sigh.
"I wonder if Tori's busy.."
I pull out my phone and dial her number.
"Hello, this is Toriel speaking."
"Yo Tori, are you busy? I could use a good ear."
"I'm actually off work today, so you can come on over!"
"Thanks, see ya soon."
With that, I hang up and walk towards her place.
After walking for a little while, I finally make it to her house.
I gently knock on the door.
"Come in!" I hear her call out.
I walk in, closing the door behind me, and walk to the living room; taking my usual seat on the brown sofa.
"Hey, Sans, what seems to be the problem?" Tori asks, looking up and down my body. "Did Frisk not confess?"
"She did, but when I woke up this morning, I was like this. I decided to go talk to the witch who put the spell on me, and..."
I explain to her what all was said.
"Oh my.." she says in surprise.
"Yeah, and I really don't want to do anything to make Frisk uncomfortable. You know I'm not that kind of monster."
Toriel gives me a thoughtful look. "Sans..she is of age. Perhaps it could work."
I look at her in shock. "Toriel, I'm surprised to hear that from you; you being her adoptive mother and all. Besides, we only just realized our mutual feelings yesterday! I can't ask that of her."
She gives me a sweet smile. "You're a good man, Sans. I'd trust you with Frisk more than anyone else. In regards to the time you've been together..." She blushes before continuing, "Asgore and I were friends long before we eloped. We weren't even dating long at all. It's because we knew, from all the time we had spent together, that it would be okay."
I let out another sigh and lean back against the sofa, closing my eyes. "I just don't know. This is all really confusing. Besides, who knows how long it'll be before I return to normal. Might as well just let it happen," I say with a shrug.
"Sans, I-"
Just as she's about to say something, there's a rapid knocking on the door.
"Who is it?" Toriel yells from the other side of the door.
"It's Frisk, I really need to talk to you!"
I jump up and stare at the door. "I'm not ready to face her, need to hide!"
"You can go into the closet." Tori whispers.
I quickly shut myself in the closet by the kitchen just before hearing Toriel shout "Come in!".
I hear the door open and footsteps of someone walking in.
"What seems to be the matter, Frisk?" I hear Tori ask.
"I confessed to Sans last night...I confessed and we even kissed! But..this morning, you could see his bones through his skin. He went to talk to the witch, but I haven't seen him for hours! I'm worried it went badly."
I can hear what sounds like Frisk crying. "Do I not love him enough? Did I not express it properly?"
"Oh, honey..I'm sure you love him plenty enough! Maybe..there's some catch to the spell.."
"L-like what?" Frisk asks between sobs.
"Well, what are things that people in love normally do?"
After a moment of silence, I hear Frisk say "Well, they kiss and go on dates, and eventually get married, right?"
"Anything else that you can think of?" Tori asks.
(Tori, what are you thinking?!)
"I-I mean there's..one other thing..but that's a but..th-that can't be it!! It can't be, can it?!"
"I'm not sure. But you don't have much time to find out, do you? Isn't today when he's supposed to return to normal?"
"But..I don't even know where he is.."
"Have you tried calling him?" Toriel asks.
"A couple times..."
"Well, why don't you call him again? Maybe his phone is on vibrate," I hear her say, speaking slightly louder than before.
"M-maybe.." Frisk agrees.
After hearing Tori say something about my phone being on vibrate, I quickly turn off my ringer in case she does call. Not long after, my phone starts vibrating.
I quickly answer. "Hey, Frisk!" (I REALLY hope she can't tell I'm in here..)
"Sans! Where are you?"
"Oh, y'know, I decided to head to Grillby's for a bite."
"I see..well, uh..what did she say?"
"Who? OHH, you mean the witch lady?"
"Yeah.."
I sigh. "There's not much we can do. She said that we must not've proved our love or something like that.."
The line goes silent for a bit.
"Frisk, you there?"
"...are you still human?" she hesitantly asks.
I let out a bit of a laugh. "Yeah, but who knows how long I have left."
Silence takes over the line again.
"Look, Frisk..even if we can't be together as humans, I-"
"No.." Frisk interrups.
"Huh?" I ask, puzzled.
"You can't give up that easily! I won't let you!!" she practically yells through the phone.
I let out another huge sigh before saying, "But there's nothing left to do."
"There is one thing." she argues.
"What would that be?"
"..Sex.."
My eyes widen in surprise. "Wh-what was that?"
"S-sex is supposed to help people connect physically and spiritually, right? So maybe if we do that, you will--"
"Frisk, I'm not going to make you do that," I calmly state. "You're still young, and we only just realized that we feel the same way for each other. If we do this now, especially given our situation..you may just be doing it because it feels right in the moment. You may regret it later."
"N-no, that's not--"
"And even if we do try it, there's no guarantee that it'll work. So it may just be best to not even worry about it."
"But Sans--"
"Don't worry about me, Frisk. We can still hang out all the time. It'll be just like before I became human. We can still stay friends."
"But I don't want to just be your friend!! I love you! I have for longer that you may even know!" Frisk protests.
"I'm sorry..but this is for the best."
With that, I hang up the phone. At first, all I can hear is silence. Then, low sobs emit from the living room.
"Frisk, honey, what's wrong?!" Toriel asks.
"He doesn't seem to even care. He could turn back at any moment, to where we wouldn't be able to truly be together, and he doesn't even care!!"
I tightly shut my eyes, feeling a dull pain throughout my chest as I listen to them.
"Oh honey, I'm sure that's not true! He probably just doesn't want you to feel like he's taking advantage of you."
"B-but he knows better! He knows I trust him.."
"Maybe..you should talk to him in person." Toriel suggests.
"Wh-why? He probably wants to be alone now anyway.."
"I doubt that. Look, just go find him and prove to him that you trust him. Make him realize how much you truly care about him."
There's another moment of silence before I hear Frisk say "You're right. Besides..even if he does return to his original self, I'll be there for him. I'll always be there, no matter what." With that, I hear footsteps heading towards the front door. "I'm going to look for him. If you hear from him at all, please tell me where he is."
"Of course, dear." Toriel responds.
Right after I hear the door close, I hear Toriel storming over to the closet, throwing it open.
"What do you think you're doing?" she shouts. "She wants to help you! I can tell she's serious about you."
I look down and rub the back of my head. "I know. I just don't want her getting hurt."
Tori glares at me before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the door. "Go out there. If you truly care about her, then man up and let her be there for you."
I look at Toriel for a moment before agreeing. "Okay. I'm heading to the lake. Give me a five minute head start, and then call her."
Toriel gives me a bright smile and nods. "Will do!"
