Chapter 7

You looked out on the main deck at Spira- or the land where death revolves- as Auron called it. Cid landed the Gummi ship on his first attempt in the shallow waters of a nearby island. Yuna informed you that this was Besaid Island; the place where she grew up, and the place where she met Tidus. It was just after sunset and the sky was sprinkled with dozens of stars. Everyone boarded off the airship quickly- especially Yuffie who was glad to be back on dry land again. You were one of the lasts to walk out, along with the group you were with during the ride here,

Trudging through the shallow water, all you wanted to do was swim in it. It was so clear, and sparkled off the moonlight. Suddenly, you were swept off your feet, bridal style by a certain raven haired boy. He smirked at you and you couldn't help but laugh at him not knowing about his face.

"Zack, what are you doing?," you asked with a smile. 

"Welcoming the beautiful- uh.... Girl to Spira!," he cheered. 

"You don't know my name do you?," you raised an eyebrow. 

"Sure I do!! It's-" 

"[Name]!!," Cloud called jogging up to the two of you. 

"[Name]!!," Zack exclaimed with a smile. You rolled your eyes shaking your head. 

"Puppy, put her down," Cloud crossed his arms in front of him. 

"Geez... Leave it to Cloud to ruin my fun," Zack pouted as he put you down. 

"From what I hear, you didn't even know her name," Auron stated as he walked past. 

"Hey!!," Zack ran after him.

Tidus and the Gullwings led the group towards Besaid village through the small jungle. You stuck with Tifa through the walk, as she talked about the world. You noticed Leon's face had been stern ever since last night, and you made a mental note that you'd talk to him about it when you got the chance. When you reached the village, you saw six small huts occupying both sides of the are, three on each. They paved the way to a large temple towards the edge of the small town. A man with copper read hair and a raven haired woman both strode over to the group when seeing Yuna. Everyone split there, going in various directions, you followed Tifa into one of the small huts and left your duffel bag there, then walked back out, taking in the scenery. The small community, the handful of people, children playing without a care, it all reminded you of your village, and you smiled at how life used to be so simple.

"Who's she?," asked the copper haired man. 

Yuna turned to where he was looking and smiled. Rikku pulled you over to them," This is [Name]! She's new, and the guys totally have a crush on her!," Rikku chirped. You blushed lightly and looked down. 

"Yeah! Watch, when we go back to school! The guys who didn't come are gonna wish she showed up," Yuffie added. 

"I knew I've never seen her before," said the woman. "I'm Lulu." 

You bowed to her in response," Nice to meet you ma'am, I'm [Name]." 

"Wow, you're polite ya? I'm Wakka," the male pointed at himself with a wide grin. 

"So~ Wakka, you and the guys get any better while I was gone?," Tidus asked casually strolling in. 

"Ya! Let's show you! C'mon," they both raced off towards the beach, along with them, about 8 other guys. Yuna giggled and Lulu sighed shaking her head. 

"What's a temple doing here?," you asked, gesturing towards the tall structure. 

"Temples aren't used anymore. The high priests were corrupted and they did nothing but cause trouble here. Eventually, people stopped following the teachings and went their own ways," Lulu answered. You nodded in response and walked off towards the building.
