Hirokiyoshi’s small body darted into the sliding door on the veranda which leads inside. You stood there for a moment, still under the pouring rain, wondering why he had run, and why he was here. The answer lied inside the dojo, and you jumped onto the higher platform, letting yourself dry up a bit as you took off your combat boots, before making your way in. When indoors, you slid the back exit closed and strolled into the girls only changing room.
Thankfully, there was a row of clean towels on a shelf at one end of the small room. First, you dried yourself, and then quickly switched outfits, laying the damp clothing on the small wooden bench to desiccate. The black silk uniform that now hung loosely onto your body consisted of traditional hakama pants and a keikogi top. The long matching band was tied around your waist, separating the two pieces of attire, and you noticed that it was gray. You secured white cloth wraps onto your feet- hands as well, still choosing to sport the cutoff gloves over that. Taking one last look in the mirror that was off to the side, you retied your hair and made way down the halls towards the main corridor.
As you past numerous rooms, you saw that one had its paper thin doors inched open a bit. Auron was inside, talking to a tall man with jet black hair that was messily spiked. His back was to you, and you couldn’t hear what they were saying, but you guessed that he was the sensei of the rival dojo. Like Auron, he modeled the white sensei’s outfit containing the hakama pants, and keikogi top beneath a long black, long sleeved robe. With the threat of getting caught listening in to their conversation, you decided to continue on to the meeting room rather than the main corridor in order to give the opposing team the chance to get some training in.
Sure enough, your three friends were warming up in the meeting room. Angeal was giving the punching back a few kicks, Vincent was calmly drinking a cup of piping hot tea, and Leon was doing pushups off to one side. You stood in an open corner and began stretching, as Angeal took a break and leaned against the wall where Vincent was sitting.
“So,” you began as you cracked your back,” What is this other team like?”
“They’re… incredibly… skilled,” Leon huffed between pushups.
“And they have no intention of even giving us a chance at winning, not even a small one,” Angeal wiped the sweat off his forehead with the band.
“We’ve always been outnumbered when fighting them. There are 4, we always had 3,” Vincent paused taking a sip,” Meaning one of us had to go another round.”
“But… now… we’re… even,” Leon sighed and sat up, smirking at you.
“That’s right, you’re gonna be our secret weapon to winning,” Angeal smiled along.
You frowned,” That’s mean, it’s like you guys are using me.”
Vincent chuckled and you turned to him,” [Name], I think they mean we’re lucky to have you as an addition to our team.”
“They could’ve said that then,” you glared at the other two then began doing sit-ups,” Big meanies.
“Che,” Leon chuckled and laid down,” I didn’t know that we were training with Yuffie.”
You rolled your eyes and sat up with a pout,” Is it really necessary to make fun of me?”
“Yes,” Angeal nodded with a laugh.
“Why~?” you whined, crossing your arms.
“Well, you are the newbie here,” Angeal shrugged.
“Oh, really!? You, Cloud and Gippal made fun of me last time- this totally counts as bullying now!”
“From what I heard, you and Vincent made fun of Cloud,” Leon raised an eyebrow.
