They could hear the music begin to fill the air as they came closer to the club. It sounded incredible and the line outside wasn't too long... yet. They all started to get into line, but the doorman recognized them and ushered everyone in ahead of the line. Well that was weird, Rashelle thought. Guess Amsterdam and L.A. aren't completely different, she mused. Inside the club they first came to an area filled with wall to wall lockers. She followed Sam where he stuck in a coin and pulled open the metal door, gesturing for her to put whatever she wanted inside. She put her purse inside and then her jacket. Then Sam started to put a coin in the locker next to hers but she stopped him.
"Why don't you just share mine?" she asked and he pondered what she said for a moment and then smiled.
"Okay." he told her and then unzipped his hoodie and rolled it up and stuck it neatly inside. Rashelle then closed the locker and used the key, then stuck it inside one of her pant's zippered pockets. The air was chilly near the front doors but the body heat from the club was pouring towards them in waves. Everyone started cheering and waving their hands in the air as they all filed into the club and made their way into the heart of the crowd. About half way through the room, they all began to survey the scene and the girls pointed which way they wanted to go so everyone just followed them off to one of the sides where everyone huddled around together and began dancing to the insane music!
There were three DJ's up at the stage in front of an enormous sound system and the beats were contagious. Rashelle cheered along with everyone else and just started dancing compulsively. The whole room was filled with a sea of faces and dancing bodies glistening with sweat and smiles and Rashelle very easily lost herself in the moment. She danced with the girls and the other guys and Sam of course, with strangers next to her and even just by herself whenever she recognized the song.
After a really good set, the girls, once again, led the pack over to the bar to get ice cold beers. Sam took the liberty of buying hers and brought it to her with a smile. Rashelle took it with a 'thank you' and swallowed it down. It felt really good going down her throat. Then she wiped the edge of her mouth and grinned over at him. She drew near so he could hear her and he bent down to put his ear nearer.
"So does this mean I'm supposed to sleep with you now?" She asked gesturing to her drink, making reference to their conversation earlier about Dutch dating stereotypes. Sam laughed then drew close.
"Unfortunately No. I didn't pay anything for these." he told her, gesturing toward their drinks. She looked confused again so he tried to explain. "I had muntjes." he told her then added, "Drink tokens." he explained.
"Drink Tokens?" Rashelle asked, not really understanding. Sam laughed.
"I'll explain another time. What's important to know, paying for drinks or food at the club isn't considered generous if you use tokens which most people do." he explained. "The only real way to know if a girl likes you is getting her phone number of course, but more important, is how she lets you dance with her." Sam said with a twinkle in his eye. Rashelle was intrigued
" 'Let's you' ?" she asked, eyebrow raised. "So what, is there a test?" she asked. Sam just grinned mischievously and took her glass out of her hand and sat down both of their empty glasses on the bar behind her then leaned over to say something in her ear again.
"I'll show you." he said flirtatiously and took her by the hand, leading her out into the crowd. He found a space around the other side, out of the line of sight of the others where they could have a bit of privacy away from his friends and just as they began to dance along with everyone around them, the music shifted to a slightly slower beat and a new remix began to play with a slow and sexy intro... Don't Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers and Daya (W&W Remix).
