Pic says it all!!!!
Jake's POV:
"Hurry up we need to get these to the main plaza right away!" A tall fair haired man shouted as he and several other Saints ran past Jake, all of them carrying crates filled with what he was guessing were bullets for what Wallace was calling a siege.
Jake though had been wondering aimlessly through the streets of Aeria ever since Stark had sent his city wide challenge to Father Matthew. He wanted to find his mentor but as soon as the Stark's message was over Father Matthew had stormed out of Wallace's office without a word just before what seemed like every Saint in the city had barged into the small office demanding to know what was going on. Jake didn't see any point in staying there while that was going on, and since then Wallace had sent out a city wide message of his own giving specific instructions to all able-bodied Saint Shields; though what those were Jake didn't know he denied the message almost as soon as he'd received it.
Jake walked across a street that seemed less busy and marched as steadily as he could along the road as there were no cars in Aeria because everyone here walked. It was a way to insure that people stayed in shape is what Sister Mary had told Jake and Lance so many years ago. Although at the time he didn't think anything of it but now that he was here experiencing the long walks from street to street he began to miss cars or at least his motorcycle. Then he'd be able at least search for Father Matthew much faster than he could on foot.
What he'd do to have Lance's nose right now but ever since his little fight with Wallace, he along with Pierce and Issac had been sent to one of the residential buildings on the other side of the city. Jake had once asked why the Saints positioned all of their residential buildings on the outskirts of the city instead on in the center so that people would always be able to get where they needed to a bit faster. Of course he'd been ridiculed by Father Matthew for asking such an idiotic question who told Jake not so many words that; It was because in the very unlikely event that someone ever did attack Aeria that the residential buildings were meant to be a line of defense with people already there to defend the city.
"Watch out Unrisen," A stocky woman carrying pulling a rolling cart behind her said as she nearly ran Jake right over. "Get out of the street you fool before you get in somebody else's way."
Jake uttered a half-hearted apology before continuing his search for Father Matthew at a much brisker pace until he was moving at a steady jog. He doubted Father Matthew would be anywhere around here but still he needed to look around just in case he ran into anyone he might know. As of now he wasn't having much luck until he rounded a corner and came bulldozed someone right over to with a yelp. He instantly let out a barrage of apologies as he reached to help them up when he saw that it was Eve that he'd just knocked over.
"Ow- why don't you watch where you're going Jake?" She said rubbing her elbow which now that he was looking at it was already beginning to bruise. Again he apologized and helped Eve to her feet fussing over her much more than she was comfortable with because she shrugged him off and puckered her lips as she always did when she was mad. "Why were you running around a corner anyways? Don't you know that it's a good way to get yourself or someone else hurt?"
""I said I was sorry didn't I?" Jake said scratching the back of his neck. "I'm looking for-"
"Evelyn!" A sharp feminine voice called out cutting Jake off before he could finish and when he looked to the side he saw Eve's teacher Rayne walking over to them with a scowl. She grabbed her student’s arm that she'd been rubbing and right before his eyes Jake saw the bruise fade away to nothing. "Did you find him yet?"
"No I haven't," Eve said bowing her head slightly and thanking Rayne for healing her arm for her. "Any idea where he'd be?"
"Where who would be?" Jake asked looking at the two witches standing before him.
