Dress up

"Natsu, I feel stupid."

"Come on, just trust me."

It's spirt week at school, each day is something different. The first day was western day, next day was sloppy day, and tomorrow was dress up like an animal. At I was going to dress up like my pug bob, get the dog ear and get something to wear over my nose, but somehow Natsu talked me into something completely different.

"A cat?"

"Yeah, we can be cat."

"Is there reason why?"

Natsu suddenly got shy and hid part of his face in his scarf. "I-I know Lucy likes cats, so.." I smiles at his red face and bum his shoulder with my own. "Alright, I'll help you out." He looks shocked then overjoyed from my answer. "Thanks mav, and hey I bet Zeref will like it to. You know cause he likes yo- cats."

Zeref? likes cats? I always pictured him as a dog lover. "H-he likes cat huh..." I feel my face get completely hot picturing Zeref wearing some cat ears. "Uh, we should go get some stuff for tomorrow." We both started heading to the front of the school, walk down the stairs, down the hall near the library. We almost made it out until we hear some soft laughter inside.

"Sounds like Lucy."

Natsu ducks down with me right behind him. We look threw some books to see Lucy and Zeref laughing and Lucy even touching his upper arm at one point. Crossing the line Lucy. "What did he say to make her laugh?" We move to a different spot to so we can hear them better, but in the process I trip over my own feet and knock some books off a shelf near me. Oh crap. Natsu helps me sit up and cover my mouth. We hear a chair move then someone asking if anyone was there.

"We gotta go."

I nod into his hand and we both head for the door, neither of us look to see if they saw us. We get outside the school and run half way down the sidewalk. "Why did we just run away?" Natsu catches his breath and shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, it felt like the right thing todo." My breathing calms down along with his, "Let get these costumes."

Zeref's POV

Gotta met Lucy in the library. Throwing my bag over my chest, I make my way past the crowed of people leaving school. I keep my eye out for a certain blonde. She's been hanging out with my brother lately and being really secretive about it. I'm not sure why, but it bugs me like crazy. I head to the back of library and see Lucy working on out project.

"Hey Zeref."

"Hey, sorry I'm late. It's crazy out in the hall."

"You sure you weren't looking for someone?"

She places a sneaky grin on her face, I get a little wide eyed and don't even respond to she said. "Uh, you working on your part of the project?"

She hands over her papers for me to see, looking over them I'm happy to see that this project is almost done. "Looks all good."

"Hey Zeref, do you like Mavis?"

Wow, she just asked that so bluntly. My throat starts to get this weird feeling it and I move around in my seat. "Who wants to know?" I don't look at her because if I do she'll see right threw the wall I've put up. All she does is shrug a bit then goes back to working on her part.

"I can't wait till this project is done, I got so much writing I need to catch up on."

Lucy rests her head on the table and close her eyes for a minute, I loosen my tie and drink my water. "I got stuff todo also, good thing tomorrow we'll be done." She moves her head slowly almost like she's sleeping. I can see why my brother likes her so much. We end up talking before her ride gets her and I end up telling a very embarrassing story about Natsu to her. She laughs and touches my arm, just then we hear something fall of a shelf near by.
