Perfect Family

I've always picture my life with a big family, with a mother and father playing with kids in the backyard laughing and having the time of their life. A family is so important to Zeref and I, we both wanted a big family and to give our kids more than we had growing up. I remember when I found out we were going to have a child, Zeref's whole demeanor changed from protected husband to protective father in training. He did everything for me, the smallest thing like getting something to drink to putting my my shoes, he was always there to help me and make sure I don't get hurt.

When our little girl was born, It was the best moment for the both of us, she was so small and delicate, she had that same dark hair just like her father, but when her eyes opened up for the first time, he said it was like looking into my own eyes. The first night in the hospital, I woke up to see Zeref walking around with our daughter in his arms. He was telling her about how him and I first met and how happy he is to be her father. He didn't see me smiling at him and tearing up some, but I knew he'll be a wonderful father.

A year and half later our daughter Mazie is now walking and saying  words, she is defiantly a daddy's girl, but at times she wants her mother too. When Zeref comes home, she does her funny little walk to him and falls into his arms, he picks her up and kisses her whole face ad carries her into the kitchen were I'm currently washing some dishes. Just the sight of these to makes my whole heart feel warm. 

"How are my two favorite girls?"

"Wonderful. Mazie said 'bye lucy' today, than her and I took cleaned the house."

"Did you help mommy today?"

She just giggles and smiles at him. "Will you put her down for her nap for me?" He nods his head and takes her upstairs to her room. I take this time to look into my apron pocket at he surprise I have waiting for him, I just need to find the right time to say it to him. "Alright she's sleeping." I jump when I hear him near me and I quickly hid the item back in my apron. "Oh that's good. Thank you."  I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him lightly on the lips. He pulls me closer to him and kisses back with some more passion then what I gave him.

"What was that for?"

"You gave me the greatest thing ever. I can't thank you enough for that."

"Zeref I-"

Before I could say more, Mazie screams from her room, we both head up to see what's wrong. We see her standing up and crying her eyes out. I go over and hug her close to calm her down. She clings to me as I take her to our bedroom. "Aww did you have a bad dream? it's okay now, you're safe."

I set her on our bed and wipe the tear aways with my thumbs. Zeref gets some tissue so we can wipe her nose. "Daddy?" Zeref bends down to her level. Mazie makes that motion that she wants to be picked up. "what is it?" she whines when she doesn't get picked up, soon he gives in and picks her up. "Scary things are under my bed." Zeref smirks at me then looks at Mazie. 

"I'll go check and see if anything is under there and I'll tell them not to mess with my little girl."

"Really."

He nods at her then takes her back to her room. I stay in our room and feel some nausea come over me. Really, this is happening to me now. I rub my stomach and take my leave to the bathroom.

At dinner, Mazie is eating her little meal of mac and cheese, while Zeref and I have something more adult like. I would clean Mazie's face when it got covered in cheese, or her fingers get cover in it as well. "So how was work today?" 

"It was normal, I think I need something interesting to happen to me, like a promotion or something."

"It will happen, you've been there for awhile so don't worry."

"Don't worry."

Mazie giggles once more then goes back to her food. "You should listen to your daughter mister."   He nods his head as he eats his food. For me, I can't seem to eat that much without feeling sick. I push my plate off to the side and get up from the table. "Mavis, is everything okay?" 

"Yeah, I'm just feeling sick. I'm going to lay down for awhile okay."

"Alright, I'll be in to check on you later, after Mazie's bath."

"Thank you."

I kiss the top of his head then head to our room. I place my hand over my stomach, I know that this is just the beginning of this surprise.

"Mavis, wake up."

I open my eyes slowly to see Zeref stroking my face. "Feeling better?" I hum at him then sit up. He rest my legs on his lap and starts massaging my feet. "Mazie is all clean and sleeping with her bear."

"That's good. Hopefully she sleeps all night. I don't think I have the energy at the moment to take of her tonight."

"Mavis, I get the feeling you want to tell me something."

"You're right, I need to tell you something." 

I take my legs back from him and run to the bathroom. I take out the stick with the tiny plus sign on it and hold it tightly in my hand. I put it behind my back so he won't see it. I stand right in front of him with a big smile on my face. "Close your eyes." He does what he's told and I take his hand into my own and place the stick in it. "Alright you can look now."

He looks down and flips the stick over, it takes him a second to understand what I just gave him. He leaps to his feet and pulls me into a hug bear hug. "Mavis, once again, your going to give me another reason to protect this family more." His eyes are now misty, I too feel my own eyes get misty as well. 

"Thank you Mavis."

"I couldn't have done it without you silly."

He laughs softly from my joke, He kisses my lips then gets down on his knees. He place both of his hands on my side. "Hey little one, we can't wait to see you, and I promise I'll make sure you your sister and especially your mother are always protected. I promise you that." He kisses the front of my stomach and glances up to me. "I love you Mavis, I love you so much." 

He stands back up then looks right into my eyes. "Time for bed." 

"Zeref, I just got up from a nap, I can't go back to sleep just yet."

"Mavis, it doesn't matter, you need your rest, so get into bed."

Here he goes again. It may seem like he's being to over protected, but I love it and I love him and this family. 

"Alright, but I need something to hug while I sleep."

"Then, I'll go to sleep too and I'l take care of Mazie if she wakes up."

"Wonderful man and father. How did I get so lucky."

He takes my hand and leads me to the bed. I get under the cover and wait for him to get next to me. He changes quickly then slides next to me. I rest my head on his chest and listen to his heart beating in a calming rhythm. 

"Another child, I hope its a boy, but if its another girl I'll love it just the same."

"well just have to wait and see Zeref, but I want a boy too."

"Let's get some sleep."

He holds me close and puts his hand over my stomach then I place my own over his. That night I dreamed about Mazie running away from Zeref and I'm holing onto the new baby. Perfect family, Perfect life.
