Deception **ON HOLD**

chapter four (EDITED)

  I wake up in the same room as last night. I scoff before getting out of bed. I can't believe I broke down last night in front of him. I get a clean pair of clothes and go take a quick shower. I get out and dressed while thinking why would Bethany would let me stay in there with him.
 

I eat an apple and banana before grabbing my school bag and keys and storm out of the flat and to my car. I head to the house to grab some things and continue packing. I enter the house and see Matt who's face immediately lights up.
 

"How are you doing Lynn?" He asks. I shrug, "could be better but anyways im heading up to my room to pack. Oh and don't worry about telling me the time, I'm not going to school today." He nods and I walk up the servant staircase to avoid anyone else.
  I knew that Matt was already in there since some of my stuff was already packed but there were boxes around. I grab an empty one and start packing random stuff into it.

*** three hours later***

I sigh in relief as the final box is packed and I sit on my bed. I look around the room as tears appear in the corner of my eyes. Almost immediately I wipe them away and head downstairs telling Matt I'll be back. I drive to the mall and start looking around the stores for the perfect Christmas gifts.
 

As I walk around I think of my mother and the memories we have around this mall. I continue walking for about thirty minutes before seeing the perfect gift for mason. Next I find on for Bethany and Bryce. As I walk past the kitchen aid store I see the perfect thing for Matt. Next I was walking past dicks sporting goods when I see a couple of things for Kayden, Reece and Luke.
 

Now I only have Halley and my old maid Meredith. I figured I would head to the art supply store and find a new drawing kit for Halley. When I do I grin and become the happiest I've been for Christmas since my mother died. An hour later I have a book kit for Meredith so she can read them to her new charge.
 

I head to my old home and carry all the gifts up to my old room and begin wrapping them. After an hour of lots of tape and wrapping paper my job is  done. I grab Matt and Meredith's gifts before heading downstairs. I give them to Matt telling him to give Meredith's to her after letting out a yawn. I walk back upstairs and lay on my old bed suddenly tired of everything and I fall asleep heading straight into a nightmare.

** Mason's POV **

I wake up only to roll over and feel around for Sarah and to come up empty handed. I sit up and called out to Bethany, "have you seen Lynn?" I ask not saying her actual name because Bryce is beside her. She shakes her head no while tears form and fall. Bryce takes her into his arms and takes her out of my room.
 

I message Matt- "have you seen Sarah?" I head into the living room after getting dressed and tell beth, "Don't worry. Right now she probably left to go to school early." She nods and goes to get dressed. We leave hurriedly and head to school. As we pull in my phone dings with a message- "She is here at the house and is perfectly okay. She will be skipping today no matter how much I tell her not to." After sending an okay thanks I tell our friends and they all visibly relax. We head into school for first period.

** after school **

We get in my car and I go to drop Beth and Bryce off before heading to Sarah's old house. I enter not even knocking and see Matt at the table with two presents beside him which reminds me that Christmas is coming and I need to go shopping. All he does is nod indicating she is in her room upstairs.
 

I thank him and start walking up the stairs. About halfway I her the first of her screams. I start to run upstairs but abruptly stop when I see her, I'm guessing, dad standing outside with his hand on the knob deciding whether or not to enter. He turns to look at me and I nod indicating to enter and comfort her. He opens the door and her screams are louder. He enters and heads straight to her bed pulling her into his arms as I stand at the door. I see he wake and clutch her throat before looking around the room.
 

I knew she was looking for her inhaler so I head to her school bag finding it instantly in the front pocket before handing it to her father. He gives it to her and she breathes deeply with it before calming down. She slaps her father before yelling "get the hell out of here!" he obliged and I walk to the edge of her bed when she looks up at him. I feel a hand on my shirt and next I know I'm lying beside her. "You are pretty strong." I tell her. She nods before she starts to play with her fingers.
 

"T-thank you for today. For being here to help me out of the nightmare." She says, looking down at the bed. I reach my hand up and brush her hair out of the way letting my fingers brush against her cheek and she shutters at the touch. "Anything for you Sarah." I tell her before sitting up and running a hand through my hair.
 

She clears her throat and stands grabbing a few bags, "the rest will be sent to my flat that I'm moving into across the hall from yours after the holidays." I nod sadden a little by her announcing that. We head down to her car and put the bags in the back.
 

I open her driver door and let her slip in before shutting it and jogging to mine. We drive to the flat and park before I help her get the bags in the flat. After we drop the bags down Hales and beth attack Sarah with bugs and questions.
"Are you okay?"-Beth.
"Where were you?" -Hales.
"Why didn't you leave a note bitch?"- Beth.
 

She yawns before answering, " Yes I'm fine. I was at my old house packing and then the mall. Because I didn't think of it, bitch." After she answers those the bombard her with more and she yawns again after answering them all. I step up behind her and suggest, "Why don't we go to bed? We have school in the morning." They all nod and we all head to our bedrooms. After changing in the bathroom I come out to see Sarah changed and fast asleep in the bed under the covers looking very cute. Ugh knock it off stupid brain.
  I climb in on the other side pulling her closer. I make a silent promise to her. I will protect her for life. I kiss her on the forehead already thinking of the perfect gift for her. She sighs and scoots closer to me for body warmth and I fall asleep with her close to me.
