I woke up to my alarm realising that today was my first day of college. I get ready excitedly and head down to the parking lot and get my car that was brought over a few days ago.

I drive to the college and pull into a parking space, taking my bag out I lock my door and walk to the only class I have today- choir. As I enter I pull out the sing I wrote the other day, Walking the Wire, to hand to the teacher in replace of me singing.

She looks over it and nods before saying, "Milo wasn't kidding when he said he had a great songwriter/singer in his class who had an accident with her voice but it didn't stop her writing. You are perfect darling. Count yourself in this class."

I nod and sign "Thank you." before going to sit down in the back and wait for the other kids to come in. As everyone clambers in I watch to see if I see any potential friends and see Logan who sees me at the same time and we both wave before he walks over and sits with me.

"Hey how are you?" he signs to me. "I'm good. What about you?" I sign back. "I'm great now that I'm with a girl like you.(insert wink)" he signs and we both laugh. We continuing signing stupid things to try to make each other laugh before the teacher announces class is starting.

She pulls my song out and says, "Everyone this is Lynn she is new from the U.S. she can't sing because she is mute but she writes amazing songs. Logan can you come up and try a demo for us?" he nods and heads up to the little stage and looks at it before starting to sing,"

Do you feel the same when I'm away from you?

Do you know the line that I'd walk for you?

We could turn around and we could give it up

But we'll take what comes, take what comes

Oh, the storm is raging against us now

If you're afraid of falling, then don't look down

But we took the step, oh, we took the leap

And we'll take what comes, take what comes

Feel the wind in your hair

Feel the rush way up here

We're walking the wire, love

We're walking the wire, love

We couldn't be higher, up

We're walking the wire, wire, wire

There's nights we had to just walk away

And there's tears we'll cry, but those tears will fade

It's a price you pay when it comes to love

And we'll take what comes, take what comes

Feel the wind in your hair

Feel the rush way up here

We're walking the wire, love

We're walking the wire, love

We couldn't be higher, up

We're walking the wire, wire, wire

So look out down below

Look out down below

Look out down below

Walking the wire, wire, wire

So look out down below

Oh, I'll take your hand when thunder roars

And I'll hold you close, I'll stay the course

I promise you from up above

That we'll take what comes, take what comes, love

We're walking the wire, love

We're walking the wire, love

We couldn't be higher, up

We're walking the wire, wire, wire

So look out down below

Look out down below

Look out down below

Walking the wire, wire, wire

So look out down below"

After he sings everyone claps and surrounds praising me for the great song. After a few minutes the class sits down and our teacher says all our concerts will be traveling concerts. Here is the list, 1. Fall concerts one close to where I came from and one in Ireland. 2. Winter concerts one in Australia and one in Africa. And 3. Spring concerts one in Germany and one in Hawaii.

We all applaud and everyone hoots and hollers. After announcements I start on another song called "I hold on" while everyone practices vocal things.

       *** a time later ***

Even though it doesn't feel like it, I can't believe that it is already October and we are heading to my old town to do a concert. As we all get on the plane Logan, Ashley, Jacob, and I sit in a section together. All of them learned sign language about a month after I met them because they were tired of Logan translating.

We all talk about this trip and I tell them that I am from there and Iwon't be staying with them at the hotel but my old cook's house. And they all look sad but nod in understanding,

**a few hours later**

After my friends drop me off I sneak and sit at the table waiting for Matt to come in. after a few minutes he walks in humming to himself and yells, "Sarahbug"when he sees me. We talk for a few minutes before I let out a yawn and he sends me to bed.

**the next day**

I wake up to the smell of double chocolate chip muffins and get ready before heading downstairs and entering the kitchen. As Matt prepares our breakfast I check In on my friends and see if they want a tour around my old town. They all reply yes and we set a time for them to come and get me.

** an hour later**

My friends pull up in some rental and I hop in and give directions to my favorite place - China's coffee + tea. We all walking in laughing (and of course mine is silent) and playing around and sit at a round booth and I sign, "One of you ask the server if they know sign language."

Logan says, " I will but just incase what do you want?" I sign," just a peppermint hot chocolate. " he nods and we all go back to talking until our server appears.  As I'm messaging Matt I don't pay attention until Logan elbows my side and asks, "Do you know sign language?"

Our server says, "yes. My best friend became mute and I learnt it for her." my head raises and I sign, "Beth?" she looks surprised before fainting. A few minutes later we are all in the back surrounding a fainted Beth waiting for her to wake up. I lean into Logan who is like a brother to me and he wraps his arm around me and close my eyes tired from what has happened.

As I'm falling asleep Ashley says," look she is waking up." as I open my eyes I see Beth looking at Logan and I. I sign, "well at least you woke up." she glares before saying, "So is that your new play toy?" Logan and I jump up and shake our heads before logan says, "No we only have a brother and sister love."

She nods and says, "well I'll let you guys go do whatever you were doing." Ashley speaks up and says, "we are doing a concert here." and beth rolls her eyes before muttering," of course." we awkwardly say bye and leave but as we walk out I sign, "we don't need the car because we are walking from here."

We walk around town and I show them everything from the highschool to the park to our good restaurants and everything in between before we go back to Matt's and eat lunch and hang there for the rest of the day.
