Deception **ON HOLD**

chapter seven (EDITED)

  I woke up a few hours later to an empty bed. As I sit up I realize that my bag is gone along with Mason's bag. I get up and go to the window to see that they are all down at the big van we rented packing the back up.
 

I sigh shaking my head as I walk to the bathroom and freshen up. I enter back into the bedroom taking my phone and charger deciding to get an apple before we leave. As I grab an apple my phone dings from it's spot on the counter. As I go to pick it up it dings again. I see two messages sitting in my inbox.
 

The first is from my step mother - 'darling you need to come home tomorrow for winter break.'  I ignore her message and go to the next. This message is from an unknown number - 'i will have you again, sweetheart. But until then have fun.' I start freaking out but before I go into  panic attack I hear the door open and the footsteps of my friends so I will myself to calm down. "Hey Lynn, you're up. Thought I would have to dump water on you." Beth says joking with me.
 

I glare at her before turning to everyone else, "I could have helped." I tell them. They shake their heads. "You just got out of the hospital we wanted you to rest." Ree told me.
  I nod understanding before Mason asks me, "are you ready to go?" Eagerly I nod my head yes.
  We all walk down to the big van. We rented a vehicle this big so that we could all fit and be comfortable together.

  Bryce volunteers to drive first, so he and Beth get in the front. Mason and I are in the very back with Luke and Hales in front of us and Ree and Kayden in front of them.
  Mason and I decide to watch movies on my IPad to pass some time. After a few hours of movie watching I yawn leaning on Mason's arm and fall asleep. I feel a blanket put on me and I swear to the moon, a kiss on my head.

***three hours later***

  I semi wake with Mason's arm around me. The warmth from his body makes me shiver and unconsciously snuggle closer into his side.
  I see that Luke and Hale's in the front while Bryce and Beth are in front if us in their old spot.
  I sigh closing my eyes again while Mason's arm tightens around me.

***sometime later***

I wake up in a room that is unfamiliar and start panicking. Oh no what if josh has me again. Am I going to get raped? 
  Mason runs into the room no doubt hearing me panic. He quickly calms me down before Bryce and Beth come in.
  "So where are we?" I ask once I can trust my voice.
 

"At some best western in Pennsylvania " Beth answers quietly. I nod and they sit on the other bed. When I look out the window I see the sun up and bright.
  "You slept all yesterday evening and night. We tried waking you up but then I figured to leave you alone since you may be tired from what happened. So we left you alone." Mason tells me as my stomach growls.
 

I get dressed in the bathroom and brush my hair and put it in a bun. When I walk back out I knew that Mason and Bryce would be shocked. Beth starts squealing, "omg! I can't believe you put your hair up. It's been forever since you wore it up."
  "Shut the hell up Beth and let's get breakfast." I say.
  Everyone laughs while Bryce says, "come on let's go feed you girls." We giggle and head down to breakfast.

***after breakfast***

We get our things and check out before loading back into the van this time with mason driving and I beside him.
  As we all slept well last night in decide to sing my new song I wrote before I cut myself trying to die. I named it thumbs.

After my song and three hours of playing a bunch more we stop for lunch. We head in while my phone dings and as we sit down my phone dings three more times until after we order I check it.
I get it out of my pocket and these four messages :
11:13 am stepmother- 'I tried to be civil but you are not listening so I'm heading over there.'
11:53 am stepmother- 'where the hell are you brat!?'
11:54 am unknown number- how was your breakfast at best western?'
11:56 am unknown number - 'have fun in Maryland sweetheart.'
 

I start freaking out in the inside but keep calm on the outside. Who is this guy? How the hell does this person know where we were and are going? Before I could continue my thoughts are stopped when Kayden asks me, 'truth or dare?"
  That's how the rest of the time was spent before our food came.

***after eating***

We head back out to the van and all climb in with Ree and Kayden in the front. After four more hours of singing, driving, and playing games we arrive at another Best Western in Maryland.
After we check in we head up to our rooms. We dropped our bags on the floor and I let my hair down before climbing into bed and we all fall asleep.
