Deception **ON HOLD**

chapter five(EDITED)

  The next morning I wake closer to Mason than I have ever been before. I roll my eyes and realize that I'm back to myself. Grinning to myself I get out of bed and dress in a long sleeve shirt with jeans and my normal boots. I let my blondish brown hair lay flat against my back instead of putting it up.
 

I head back to the room to see Mason in the shower so I drop my things off and head into the kitchen. I see Bryce at the stove and Beth at the table. I sneak up behind her and touch her shoulder at the same time I say , "what's up doc?" I start laughing at how high she jump before I slip into the seat across from her.
 

"Well we now know Lynn is back to normal." Beth says darkly. Mason, Halley and Luke walk in as Bryce brings the food to the table. "I didn't know you cooked Bryce." Beth said and he looks at her and winks. She blushes and I wonder what is going on. Soon enough the food distracts me and I eat two plates and drink two cups of sweet tea.
 

"Come on guys let's get to school." I say and we all head to mine and Bryce's car. We get to school ten minutes early and park beside Bryce. We decide to hang out in front if the cars until the bell rings. Mason and Bryce start play fighting and a new car pulls into the school parking lot. Once it parks a guy steps out sunglasses blocking most of his face.
 

He removed them and that's when I stop breathing. Beth is by my side in a heartbeat. He won't recognize me I'm no longer the girly girl. Josh, my crazy ex boyfriend walks over to us obviously seeing Beth. "Hello Bethany." He says his deep voice slices through me. I shiver and Mason is by my side too. "Where's Lynn? How is she doing? I would sure love to she my girl after this long period of time." He says
 

"Listen here motherfucking. You are pretty stupid if you can't recognize me. Your supposed girl. Ha not. I will never be your girl ever again no matter how long I live. It will not happen. Now go to hell and leave me alone." I tell at him. Mason and Reece pull me away while Bryce and Luke pull Beth away.
 

Josh looks shocked but recovers quickly, "so your posse of boys have to rescue you now? Not the strong girl I once knew. " he says. I growl but the principal shows up so I back off. "Josh go to class and Lynn I am sorry about that." the principal says. I shrug and we all head to class at least the principal made it to where we aren't in any classes together except for chorus.

** class before lunch **

I enter chorus handing Mr. Mills the song beth will be singing at the spring concert before heading to my piano. I sat down and Josh comes up to me saying, "hello." Beth saves me at that time letting me sigh in relief. "She doesn't speak much unless she's pissed. She especially doesn't talk much in this class." she says before sitting next to me. He gives up talking and Mr. Mills walks to the front of class. "Class we have a new song by Lynn which is for Bethany to sing for the spring concert. Can you come up and try singing it for us Ms. Royce?" He asks and she nods excitedly since she isn't allowed to see my songs ahead of time.

(Song is Paris by chainsmokers. Once again act like they are Sarah's)

Beth stands in front holding the paper eyes sparkling with excitement. "Okay guys it is called Paris." She tells them.

She starts to sing, "we were staying in Paris to get away from your parents.
And I thought, Wow.If I could take this in a shot right now
  I don't think that we could work this out"
  Out on the terrace

She finishes astoundingly and everyone claps congratulating me on yet another good song and I just nod while Josh sits there shocked that I wrote that. For the rest of class we just play around figuring out what songs to sing for the concert.

** lunch **

I sit down with the others at our table with my French fries and brownies. Matt sent them to the office and I'm so grateful since after this morning I needed the sugar. Everyone is eating and laughing around the table making jokes.  As I finish off my last brownie someone walks up to our table. "Hey. Can I join y'all?" I hear him say and immediately my head snaps up. "No you can't not. You are not welcome here." I say immediately.
 

Josh walks up to me and gets in my face, "you can't decide that pretty girl." As soon as he said that I get angry and punch him in the face breaking his nose and hurting my wrist. After that the principal comes to get Josh and tells Mason and I to go to the nurse.  We head to the nurse who examines it and tells me I need to go get it x-rayed. Mason and I go to hospital and they x-rayed it and not even an hour later Matt comes rushing in.
 

As they put a brace on I explain to Matt what happened. "Well you see Josh is back." I began and he curses under his breath. "And I ended up punching him at lunch breaking his nose and spraining my wrist. Wonderful way of starting winter break right?" Mason and Matt just shake their heads amused grins on their faces.
 

As I'm waiting for my discharge papers Matt pulls Mason out for a "private discussion". After another hour and school ending they return with my papers saying I'm good to go. Matt heads home as Mason and I head to his flat.
 

When we get home Beth and Bryce surprise us with alcoholic beverages to celebrate the beginning of winter break and Sarah punching Josh. As we all drink I put music on to play throughout the whole flat but not loud to disturb the neighbors. Not even three hours later and everyone but me is completely wasted. I decided not to drink much cause who knows if one of them will need help later in the night. I help them get to the couches to fall asleep before they fall down and once they all fall asleep and I mean dead asleep I curl up in the recliner slipping into one of my latest nightmares.

** Mason's POV **

I semi wake up to screaming but figure they are still partying so I fall back asleep. As soon as I do I'm being shaken awake. I open my eyes and see bethany standing over me worry evident in her face. I realize that the screaming is Sarah so I immediately sober up and tell Beth to get her inhaler as I get up and run to Sarah in the recliner.

As soon as I have her in my arms she stops screaming and opens her eyes. She looks calm and is breathing fine so I tell Beth, "she's good take it back to her bag." Beth nods and does so.
  "I will be back I need to use the bathroom." Sarah says. She basically runs to the bathroom. "Guess that alcohol got to her." Bryce says before cracking up in laughter, I guess he still has alcohol in his system.

** thirty minutes pass **

'I'm going to check on her." I tell the others. "She's been in there a very long time." They nod and I walk over to the bathroom. I open the door and when I see her I immediately yell out, "Bryce keep Beth in there and call an ambulance now!"
 

I pick Sarah up, kicking the bloody razor blade away from me while tears stream down my face. When the ambulance arrived they put her on the gurney and I turn back to Bryce and Beth, "Do not and I repeat do not call Matt and hurry to the hospital." I get in the ambulance and we take off.
 

As soon as we get there they take Sarah into trauma and guide me to the waiting room to fill out papers but I'm shaking so much and tears are still coming out I leave the papers for Beth. They come in and I point towards the papers and Beth takes them.
