Finally all of Ayeshas lectures and classes were finished and she could go home. She sat in her car and sighed. Yet another eventful day had gone and she couldnt have been more thankful.
She was about to start her car when she heard a tapping on her window. She looked up to find Badia and Cantara laughing at her. They were making circles in the air and Ayesha knew exactly what they were trying to say
Ayesha came from Pakistan but she lived in Sydney, Australia. Even though she didnt live in an islamic country she was a proud muslim and followed all her deen (religion). But there was one thing that always brought her down to her knees. She didn't wear a hijab (headscarf) and she would often get teased about it from her annoying cousins Badia and Cantara. Unfortunately they went to the same university as her.
They teased her to the point where she would sit in her room and cry for hours and hours wondering what she had done to deserve this.
She drove off without even a second glance at them. She was so deep in her thoughts and angry that on the highway she was driving so fast she nearly crashed into the car infront of her. All she needed was a honk to bring her back to reality. She stopped at the masjid (holy place) to pray asr (one if the five daily prayers). Even if she was out if her house she would still pray 5 times a day. And she always kept a handy long skirt and hijab (headscarf) at the back of her car so she didn't have an excuse.
After prayer and reading a bit of the Qur'an (holy book) she drove home. As soon as she entered she was encountering the wonderful smell of her sisters famous biryani (traditional dish).
Ayeshas 15 year old little sister Aabira loved cooking. She was very gorgeous with her sparkly green eyes and long black hair. But not as long as Ayeshas. She was the only one in the family with green eyes.
"Assamlam-O-Alykum (greeting) ammi." She greeted her mother and her mother greeted her back. She ran to the kitchen to greet her sister and see how the biryani looked. "Salam (greeting) monkey." She said, a huge smile appearing on her face. She loved her sister to death but she always teased her with funny nicknames. "Salam appi. How are you." This is also another thing she liked about her sister. She was very kind and polite.
"I'm good, when are we eating dinner?"
"Im good too thanks for asking." And sarcasm was her thing.
"I'm sorry, I'm just really hungry."
"It's ok go get changed I'll get the table ready." Ayesha walked out of the kitchen and made her way to her younger brothers room. Daamin is Ayesha 20 year old younger brother. He was probably the quietestsibling but still wasn't quite enough. Even though all the siblings were close Aabira and Daamin were probably teh closest. He was studying at a medical univerity because he wanted to become a doctor.
"Salam Daamin!" Ayesha yelled and walked into his room. She plopped onto his bed.
"Salam Api." He replied
"Apiiii....?"
"Yessss Daamin.....?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Appi please don't be mad but I took 10 dollars from your money box." He said quickly.
"You know what? It's ok. Take all the money you need. I don't mind. I mean how else are you supposed to flirt with the girls." Ayesha joked. She walked out of the room but not before yelling,
"I want my 10 dollars in one weeks time." And when she turned around her heart dropped and she nearly fainted.
