Ayeshas POV

"Ammi please tell me where she is" he looked at ammi with a desperate expressions.

"She's in Ayesha's room." Ammi replied after a while.

Within a second he was climbing the stairs to the top, I ran after him.

"Haadiya..." Kaab burst into the room. She was sitting on the bed looking into space but as soon as she saw Kaab she broke into tears.

"B-bhai." Kaab hugged her tightly, patting her head.

"Bhai, where were you? I called for you so many times but you didn't come." She said in between sobs.

My heart ached seeing her like this. Haadiya was always in a bubble of happiness,  seeing like this broke my heart.

I sat down next to Kaab. Haadiya turned and looked at me.

"What happened to our angel huh?" I wiped her tears and gave a soft smile.

"Do you want to share it with us." She wrapped her arms around me and kept crying. I was really worried as to what had happened that made her cry like this.

I broke the hug and made her look at me. Her eyes were red and swollen, her cheeks tear stricken.

"Ok, I will just be outside, you share it with your bhaiyan, and when you feel comfortable you can tell me too." I pushed her hair away from her face and kissed her forehead before leaving.

I closed the door and turned around to see ammi standing there.

"Assalam-O-Alykum ammi." I kissed her cheek and hugged her. A mothers embrace is the best thing in the world.

"Ammi, what happened to her, do you have any clue why she is in such a state?" It was hurting me not knowing what she was going through.

"I don't know Ayesha, she wouldn't utter a word. She is such a kind soul, it's so sad seeing her like this." Ammi had genuine sadness clouded in her eyes.

I decided to go meet everyone else. I knocked on Daamin's door.

"Come in."

"I walked in and saw Aabira and Daamin sitting on the bed.

"Salam guys."

"Salam." They replied. I walked upto the bed and hugged them both.

"I miss you two trouble makers so much." I said, sitting down with them.

"Honestly appi, the house is not the same anymore with out you and Abbu." Daamin said playing around with his fingers.

"Did you find out what happened to Haadiya Appi." Aabira asked.

"No, not yet. She is with Kaab right now. I am so worried." I said with a sigh.

We talked some more until we heard Kaab's booming voice outside.

We all looked at eachother, quickly got up and went outside.

"Ayesha!" He yelled.

"Kaab, I'm right here. What happened?" He was holding Haadiyas wrist and when he saw me he also grabbed hold of mine.

"Salam Kaab. What happened." Daaem bhai came out of his room.

"You are asking me what happened. Look at her, she can't even talk because she is crying so much. I left her in your care, you had promised me you wouldn't let anything happen to her. I should never have left her in your care in the first place." He kept yelling at bhai and by this time ammi had come out too.

"Kaab, calm down." I tried to bring his temper down but to no avail.

We sat in the car and he drove home. I didn't even get a chance to say bye to ammi. The uneasy feeling still didn't go away. I just prayed to Allah SWT that Kaab wouldn't be too mad and Haadiya would be fine.

As soon as we walked into our apartmemt Haadiya went straight to her room. I followed Kaab to ours.

I watched him as he took his watch off and brushed his fingers through his already tousled hair.

I waited a few seconds before talking.

"Did she tell you what happened?" I said, referring to Haadiya.

"No." Came his stern reply. He grabbed his towel and walked into the bathroom, leaving me standing in the middle of the room.

I contemplated on whether or not I should go to Haadiya, maybe she just needs space. I paced around the room, my thoughts all over the place.

Suddenly I felt two hands grab my shoulders.

"Stop walking around like that." Kaab's voice sent chills all down my spine. I really don't like this side of him, the side where he get's really mad. I had only seen this side of his once before when Haadiya was in hospital, and it scared me back then aswell.

"Should we go check up on Haadiya." I broke the cold ice.

"I think that would be a good idea."

So as we made our way to her room I thought of all the possible outcomes. Maybe it isn't that bad, I thought to myself.

But the way she was crying, there has to be more to it.

I knocked on the door, and when we got no reply I opened it a crack, she was sitting on her bed once again staring at nothing.

"Haadiya darling." I opened the door and walked in, Kaab right behind me.

We both sat on either side of the bed and waited for some kind of response. But she didn't mutter a single sound.

"What happened?" I gently touched her shoulder.

One tear fell from her eye, then two and within a second she was sobbing, her head buried in her hands.

"I didn't do it Ayesha, it wasn't my fault. He just barged in. I couldn't stop him." I rubbed her back and looked over at Kaab. His face was a mirror of my own.

I took her face into my hands and wiped her cheeks.

"Shhhhh, calm down. Stop crying. And tell us clearly."

Eventually she stopped crying, and my heart started beating faster, scared to hear what she would say.

"I-I was at home. No one else was there that day. "Daamin and Aabira were at uni and college, Daaem bhai and Ebrah appi had gone to the doctors with ammi jaan. I was sitting in the living room when I heard the door open and close. I thought it was Daamin since he had said he would be back around that time." She paused. Then carried on.

"I yelled out a salam to make sure, but..." Her voice started shaking.

"It's ok take your time." But she kept on talking. Kaab had worry painted all over his face.

"It was C-Cemal." Kaab instantly clenched his fists.

"He wouldn't let me go bhai, he... he touched me, neck, arms. Bhai he wouldn't get off me."

My eyes widened in shock. "Ya Allah Haadiya, he did that to you." I felt tears down my own cheeks. I hugged he tightly and when I looked over at Kaab my heart quickened it's pace.

His eyes were red, fists clenching and unclenching, the veins on his head bulging.

"THAT SON OF A..." He continously cursed that horrid man.

And like that the best day of my life, became the worst day of my life. The two people I loved unconditionally were in pain, and I felt as if my whole world was being crushed under the foot of Lamih.
