Pssst. Above is a pic of Aabira. Now onto the story. Bye.
"It was... my cousin Cemal." Said Haadiya.
"What. I don't even know him. What did he have to do with us." Asked Ayesha very confused.
"Look, I haven't told you this but I don't have any parents. They both died in a car crash 2 years. We used to get bet up by them a lot. When they died Kaab managed to get us an apartment. One day my uncle saw me talking to you. If it was any other girl it would have been ok but I told him that you were from Pakistan and were muslim. He didn't want to see you anywhere near me since I told him you have a little brother. He wants me to marry his son only and so he's afraid that I might go ahead and marry your brother. Not that i want to. His son, my cousin has tried many times to marry me, some in unexplainable ways. But neither of them have managed to get Bhais trust and I'm so thankful for that."
"So my sisters are hurt because of him." Ayesha said through clenched teeth with anger in every word.
"My uncle even threatened me before and hurt me." Haadiya showed her a big purple bruise on her forehead lifting up her hijab a little.
"This is all because of me. I'm so sorry. Does your brother know? I mean about the bruise?" Ayesha asked in a concerned tone.
"No. I've somehow managed to hide it from him. I hope he doesn't find out." Haadiya was on the verge of tears now and Ayesha just had guilt building up in her.
The girls walked to their first class. Ayesha needed to stop this but she needed someones help. But who?
At morning tea Ayesha saw that Haadiya waas sitting with Cantara and Badia laughing and deep in conversation. It looked like they were laughing at Ayesha. She just ignored it and sat at Gabriellas table with her. While the two girls were talking they heard a scream. They turned around and bursted out laughing at the scene in front of them.
Badia and Cantara were covered in mud and Haadiya was standing on the side laughing her head off.
"This is what you get for hitting my friend!" She said and started making her way to Ayesha and Gabriella."You didn't think I would actually want to be their friend." She said as a huge smile appeared on her face.
After school when Ayesha got home she went upstairs and prayed asr. After praying she made a dua. Allah please help Haadiya. Give her courage to fight through this tough time. Ayesha looked up and saw her brother sitting in front of her. "I need help." He said
"With what?" Ayesha asked
"Cooking." Ayesha laughed. "You came to the wrong person. Why don't you go to Aabira?" Exclaimed Ayesha.
"She's at a friends house."
"Fine. But why are you cooking?" Asked Ayesha confused.
"Ebrah said she wanted to see how I cook. She said she would come at 6 pm to taste my food so i only have 2 hours to cook. Please say yes. Daamin has alreadt said yes. Please." He said whilst doing his best impression of a puppy face.
"I'm not the best so dont get your hopes too high but I'll try. Now come on. Oh and don't ever do that face again. It just looks like you're about to slaughter someone."
They decided to make roti and daal. The easiest things to make. Or at leaast they thought.
"Do you put the water in the flour or the flour in the water." Asked Daaem very frustrated. (Ek hazaroon mein meri behna hain dialogue. Ha. Star plus came in hamdy sometime 😂😂)
"I think it's water in flour. Wait no flour in water. Yup 100 percent sure." Ayesha replied.
"Wait a minute. I have washed the daal. Now do i fry them or..." Daamin asked standing in the middle of the kitchen, half of his shurt wet.
"OMG! What have you done to my kitchen." Aaabira screamed when she entered. "Bhai whaat are you trying to do?" She asked with her arms crossed and her foot tapping. Out of all three sibpings she was the most mature.
"Ummmm... making roti." He slowly answered.
"Appi what are you doing?"
"Uhhhhh... mixing?" Everyone knew this was a lie because all Ayesha had in her hands was a wooden spoon and an empty frying pan.
"Just so you know I didn't jump in a swimming pool. The sink and daal decided to attack me. Just going to put that out there." Daamin said with a sheepish smile.
"Why do you guys even try. Even you guys know yourselves that your hopeless at cooking so what's the point going into the kitchen to do anything other than eat. Now get out. I need to clean up." She tried saying it seriously but there waas clearly a smile tugging at her lips.
"Sorry aaboo. I desperately wanted to cook and you weren't home." Everyone burst out laughing but you know what they say, It's always calm before a storm.
