"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than waking alone in the light."
Hellen Keller

*7 weeks later*
Over the past seven weeks nothing has changed, I go to work everyday, we travel around the country catching criminals, and then we return to our homes and sleep knowing that there are more criminals than there are people catching them.

However, things have changed. Derek, who at first was just a piece of door kicking eye candy, is now like the brother I never had, he has my back if I need it. And he is there for me if and when I have a bad day.

JJ, is like a mother/sister/best friend. She's the whole package, she will always be there if I need her to be, I've even met Henry who is adorable.

Emily, she has some mannerisms that remind me of Naomi, and she will go out of her way to make sure I'm okay. She is a rock. She is my rock.

Garcia, where do I even begin with Garcia? Good ole Penny G, she is like a sister and a best friend. She will solve any problem with her optimism and bright clothes, she often checks up on my dad for me while we are away on cases, she lets me know how he is doing, I've never asked her to do it, but I'm so glad she does.

Rossi, Dave. The coolest of uncles, has taught me on several occasions how to cook some 'proper' Italian food. And he is generally the party host of the team. If you need a party, give Dave a call. Heck you can call Dave if you are having problems, he will probably hit you up with some vague and inspiring quote that will cheer you up.

Hotch, Hotch was pretty cautious of me when I first joined, probably because I can self destruct sometimes. But now he is kind of like a father figure and an uncle, I wouldn't tell him my problems but I feel like if I needed to, he would listen. Despite his stone cold glares and monotone voice, I have learnt that our leader does indeed have a sense of humour and does occasionally smile, I've also met Jack his son, he seems happier around his son.

And last but definitely not least, Dr Spencer Reid. My best friend. My person. We got off on the wrong foot but after I saved his mum we have gotten closer, we go for coffee whenever we can and we chat about anything from literature to our favourite colours.

When I first joined this team I promised not to think of them as family because everyone in my family dies or leaves, but here I am thinking of each member as a relative. As much as I hate to admit it, this team are my family.

Lately he has been acting odd, I'm pretty sure I've pieced the puzzle together. Boy wonder has a girlfriend, he keeps disappearing to make phone calls from phone booths even when we are on cases.

I walk in to the office and drop my go back under my desk, I take a sip of the black coffee I bought on the way here, "Morning Ria," JJ calls from Morgan's desk, I walk over, "hey, how was your weekend?" I ask, we make small talk for a while and then I get a call from Reid, "can you meet me at the coffee shop we normally go to?" He sounds nervous, "yeah sure, what's up?" He doesn't reply he just hangs up. "Hey guys I'll be back as soon as I can," I say as I start to head to the door, "okay, we don't have a case today." I nod and walk to the coffee shop a few blocks away from the office.

I walk in to see Spence sat in a booth twiddling his fingers, I take a seat opposite him, "hey what's up?" He looks up and our eyes meet, "I really need to talk to someone. Someone who will take me seriously." He said, he sounds nervous and I can't pinpoint why, "I'm all ears. Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded, "there's this person. Who I've been talking to, Maeve." He paused and I nodded for him to continue, "and I think I'm falling for her, but I don't know if I am because I've never felt this way and being in love is really just dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin which may actually send us temporarily insane." He rambled, "tell me about her," I replied looking down at my coffee, and then back up to his eyes.

-

"Wait so you haven't actually met her?" I asked after he finished telling me about Maeve, "no," he simply replied, "aren't you curious what she looks like?" I asked with a small smile, "it doesn't matter what she looks like, I mean, she's already the most beautiful girl in the world to me, it's just. What if she doesn't like me?" He mumbled looking at his hands, "Spence, what's not to love?" He smiled a little bit, "I'm weird. And I don't want to ruin something this special over something as trivial as looks," he answered, "Spence, you shouldn't worry about that. It sounds like you want to meet her but you're scared." I stated, he nodded "I think you should meet her. Just don't psych yourself out!"

Spencer and I parted ways, I headed home to watch Netflix and Reid headed home to get ready to meet Maeve. I'm happy for him, he seems pretty much head over heels for her, and the way he talked about her. I wish someone talked about me with so much awe.

-

A few hours passed and I was just about to hop in the shower when I heard a knock on the door, I answered to see Spencer, "how'd it go?" I asked opening the door further to invite him in, "not so good." He replied, "I forgot to mention that she had a stalker. I had to cancel because I think he was at the restaurant." He was clearly upset about cancelling the date, "is there a case to be built?" I asked "we do cover stalkers don't we?" I quickly added, he nodded "I don't think there is any evidence. And I wasn't sure if the guy I saw was the stalker, he just looked sketchy and I didn't want to take any chances."
