kisses and music
Kevin woke up by the bright light of the sun entering his room, his phone's text alarm went on, it was a text from his dad, he read it as he got up from his bed,
* I know we agreed to have lunch this afternoon but I have a conference so I will get home around dinner time, I'll meet you at Pop's around 7 *
He got up and went downstairs to make breakfast, he turned the tv on and watched a tv show as he made himself some toast and tea, he cleaned up and then went upstairs and took a shower.
He got out of the shower and he texted Joaquin
*still want to see me?* Kevin sent the text and walked over to his closet to see what he would wear, he got out a purple sweater and pair of blue jeans, he got dressed and then Joaquin replied
*i always do, meet me at the end of your street in 20 minutes* *see you soon* Kevin quickly replied and went downstairs to call his dad, he dialled his number but since he didn't answer he left a message
'Hey dad is Kevin I will meet you at Pop's at seven text me if anything changes in going out with Veronica, um bye'
Kevin hanged up and started thinking on what would he need to go out with Joaquin, house keys, phone, money, he sat on his phone for some time and then started walking to where he would meet Joaquin.
Kevin realized that he should have worn a jacket since it was windy and kinda chilly, but he would be late if he went back to his house so he kept walking until he got to the end of the street, he could see Joaquin walking around at the end of the end of a street near so Kevin approached him, "are you lost?" Kevin said poking Joaquin in the shoulder "it's the wrong street isn't it?" Joaquin's said looking down at his feet "I'm sorry I thought I knew where your street was" "it's fine don't worry" Kevin said smiling at him and giving him a kiss in the forehead, "so where are we headed?" Kevin said walking to his street, "well maybe we could get some ice cream, I mean if you want" Joaquin said smiling "yes! I have been wanting to get ice cream" "well I know this place, is really good, but is near the south side" Joaquin said nervously, scared that Kevin wouldn't want to go there "if you say it's good then I want to try it" Kevin said giving Joaquin a smile and a kiss on the cheek.
They started walking, Kevin followed Joaquin until they got to a really nice place, it was almost empty except for these two guys that were talking to the two girls behind the counter, once Joaquin and Kevin walked in the two guys looked at them for a second and turned back to talk to the girls, a women came from behind a door "I don't pay you to be flirting with your boyfriends go and take the order of the gentleman" the women said yelling at the girls and walking back into the door, one of the girls approached and said "sorry, um what can I get for you two today" she was really friendly, she waited patiently while Kevin chose an ice cream flavour, once Kevin chose it Joaquin turned back to her "okay so it will be two cotton candy ice creams please" he handed the girl a 10 dollar bill and waited with Kevin for the ice cream "where are we going next?" Kevin asked while hugging Joaquin "where do you want to go?" Joaquin answered breaking the hug since the girl had the two ice creams ready "thank you" Kevin said getting his ice cream, Joaquin opened the door and they walked outside, "I know a place" said Joaquin, they walked to a park that was near the ice cream shop, it was empty so they sat on a bench and ate their ice creams, Kevin was the first one to finish so he sat criss crossed facing Joaquin, Joaquin turned around trying to finish his ice cream "alright so, do you mind if I ask some questions?" Kevin said looking at Joaquin eating his ice cream, "go ahead" Joaquin replied and kept on eating "so why me?, why did you talk to me?, I mean I'm glad you did just why?" Kevin asked nervously, Joaquin finished eating his ice cream and putting the napkin from the ice cream cone on his jacket pocket, "because I knew I wouldn't have to hide with you, people I liked wouldn't accept the fact they are gay but you are different, you were the one that noticed me, and I'll say it, I think you are really cute" Joaquin put his hand on Kevin's cheek moving in closer, Kevin chuckled "I think you are very cute too, they got closer until their foreheads touched, they closed their eyes, they stayed like that, without moving, and then Kevin sneezed, "sorry" he chuckled and that made Joaquin laugh "it's okay" they both laughed for some time and then Kevin said "I'm cold and when I'm cold I sneeze, I ruined the moment didn't I?" he chuckled again "Oh, Kevin why didn't you told me you were cold" Joaquin started to take his leather jacket off "here put it on, I don't want you to get sick" Joaquin handed Kevin his jacket and Kevin grabbed it "are you sure? Because I don't want you sick either" Joaquin got up from the bench and Kevin did the same, Joaquin grabbed his jacket from Kevin's hands and delicately put it on his shoulders "I'm sure" Joaquin smiled "okay, but, um" Kevin cleared his throat and continued saying "do you want to come to my house? So that we don't get cold out here" Joaquin was surprised by the question but he agreed to go, the truth was no one had invited him to a house before since he was part of the serpents, he was nervous he might do something wrong, "you jacket smells really nice" Kevin said as they walked to his house, "you look cute in it" Joaquin quickly responded.
They started walking to Kevin's house, once they got to the street Kevin made sure none of the neighbours were outside since he didn't want them talking to his dad about him taking guys to his house, they'd topped walking at the end of the street "okay I'm going to open the door and then you come in, just wait here okay?" Kevin said quickly "give me a sign so that I know when to go" Joaquin said and Kevin walked fast to his house opening the door, he checked again that none of the neighbours were looking he then nodded to Joaquin and he ran to his house, he walked in and stepped aside so that Kevin would be able to go in, "we did it" Joaquin said and they both chuckled "should I take my shoes off?" Asked Joaquin standing beside the door "oh yeah please, they both took their shoes off and Kevin left Joaquin's jacket in the closet beside the door, Joaquin followed Kevin into the living room, there wasn't much in the living room, just a tv, a big window facing the front garden, one couch, an empty side table and a carpet floor. Kevin closed the blinds of the window to avoid people looking inside, "you can sit down you know" Kevin said "I will be back, stay here" Kevin ran upstairs to his room and brought downstairs the discs they got the day before, he went back to the living room and put the first album which was the one Joaquin had picked for him "is it okay if we listen to it together?" Asked Kevin as he put the disc into the player and sitting on the couch beside Joaquin "I don't mind" Joaquin said as Kevin sat down, the disc started playing the first song "oh wait I know this song!" Kevin said excited getting up, "yes I love this song" he continued, he started to jump in circles and Joaquin chuckled "how rude of me would you like some water, or juice, something?" Kevin asked looking at Joaquin "um water would be fine" Kevin headed to the kitchen and grabbed a glass for Joaquin, he brought it to the living room and handed it to him, he kept on jumping in circles and Joaquin drank his water chuckling at Kevin when he almost fell, he put the glass on the empty side table.
Kevin got tired when the song was over so he sat down on the carpet floor putting his head against the couch, "I like the song" Kevin said trying to catch his breath, the next song was playing and Kevin was too tired to get back up "I know you did" said Joaquin, they both chuckled, Joaquin sat beside Kevin in the carpet floor, as Kevin listened to the songs Joaquin got in closer, Kevin turned towards Joaquin, they were facing each other, they were making eye contact, Joaquin reached for Kevin's back pulling in him closer, he slowly made his way up to Kevin's neck, Joaquin reached for Joaquin's shirt and they both pulled into a kiss, the kiss was soft and slow, they broke the kiss in need of air and then softly Joaquin said "Kevin Keller where have you been" Kevin chuckled at this "looking for someone like you" Joaquin then grabbed Kevin's collar and pulled him in for another kiss.
They kept on kissing while the music played, then the home phone rang, Kevin broke the kiss and ran to the phone which was on the kitchen, lowering the volume of the music
'Hello'
'Hey Kevin, is your dad'
'Oh hey dad what's up'
'Just wanted to let you know I'm on my way home so we can go to Pops after'
'Oh no, um, I was actually heading out right now to meet you there'
'Well I'll see you there, bring a jacket is kind of cold, love you son'
'See you, love you too'
Kevin hang up the phone and went back to the living room, "hey" Joaquin said getting up "I'm sorry but we will have to leave now, my dads coming home, I'm meeting him at Pop's" said Kevin pausing the music and opening the window blinds, "it's alright I'll walk you, just to make sure you get there safe" Kevin grabbed Joaquin's glass and put it in the sink "you don't have to" Kevin smiled walking to the front door and putting his shoes on, Joaquin did the same and Kevin got his and Joaquin's jackets out of the closet, they put them on and ran to the end of the street hoping that the neighbours didn't saw them, they walked until they got to Pop's, Joaquin gave Kevin a really quick kiss on the lips and Kevin smiled "text me, I will miss you" Joaquin said "I will" Kevin answered, he walked into Pop's to wait for his dad.
Joaquin saw some of his friends outside Pop's so he decided to walk with them home.
