phone calls and friends
Kevin arrived to his house after school and went to his room, he took his homework out and started working, he had some math equations and an English paper due, after around an hour after he had finished the math and was almost done his English essay, he decided to go downstairs and get some food, he headed to the kitchen and got a granola bar, he started to go upstairs when someone knocked at the door 'please be Joaquin' he thought, but it was only Betty and Veronica, he opened the door "hey guys" they walked in, he left the granola bar on the table near the front door 'um what are you doing here?" Kevin said acting surprised "you know why we are here" Veronica said, "I'm guessing you want to know?" Kevin said shyly closing the door "yep" Veronica said popping the p "alright come upstairs" they headed to Kevin's room, Kevin was nervous, he knew he could trust them but, Joaquin was a serpent and he didn't want him to get in trouble for dating the Sheriffs kid.
Kevin closed his door as Betty and Veronica sat down on his bed. "Okay so? Why are you so mysterious?" Betty asked worried "listen, we won't judge you, we can help you if you need us to" Veronica said looking at Kevin, he took at deep breath "you guys have to promise me, that you won't bring it up or say anything about this" Kevin said sitting on his desk chair looking at them both "Kevin, you are worrying us" Betty said looking at Veronica and Kevin "okay" Kevin took a deep breath "I'm seeing someone?" "You don't sound so sure" Veronica chuckled "I am, well I think, I'm not sure" "who is it?" Betty asked smiling "he, well, his name is Joaquin" Betty and Veronica frowned but nodded "I'm sorry who? Veronica asked, Kevin took a deep breath again, "okay this is harder than I thought, um, remember the night you took me to the drive in?" "Yeah" Veronica nodded "well when I went to get 'snacks' this boy came to me and we talked and then we made out" "wait, the serpent? That guy sitting with the serpents?" Veronica said looking surprised "yeah the really cute one with blue eyes and really nice dark hair" Kevin said blushing "awe Kev it looks like you really like him, how is he like?" Betty asked "let's not judge the book by its cover" Betty said looking at Veronica "alright, keep going" Veronica said rolling her eyes at Betty "so we made out at the drive in and, well, we have been seeing each other, we have gone out to places, and he is just really nice to me, and he is really cute too, and I couldn't say anything since I'm the sheriffs son and he is, well, a serpent and Jason's murder got everyone, worried if anything that is different in this town" Kevin was looking down, hoping Betty and Veronica wouldn't say something mean, "well he sounds like a good guy to me, I mean risking his safety to be with you" Betty said smiling as Kevin looked up to smile at the two girls "well we won't say anything" Veronica said as she glanced at Betty and looked at Kevin "but please promise that if you are in danger or you need to talk to someone you will call one of us and let us know alright?" Veronica was being serious he cared about Kevin and he didn't want him to get hurt "thank you guys" Kevin smiled and got up bringing the girls into a hug "we should go, we have to go pick some stuff for the fair coming up" Betty said "I have to help organize it and Ronnie is helping so" Betty stood up and gave Kevin approached Kevin who was know leaning against his desk and giving him a hug, "um about the fair" Kevin said when Betty was heading out of his room "yes Kevin you can go with him, we will try our best to make sure no one sees you two" Veronica said heading downstairs with Betty "tell him to be careful with the jacket he chooses to wear that day" Betty said opening the front door, Kevin chuckled "I will form worry, thank you again guys" "no problem Betty and Veronica said in unison and walked out of Kevin's house.
He went back to his room and put some music on, he kept writing his essay for another hour, he finally finished and he remembered he hadn't ate since he got from school, he turned his computer off and lowered the volume of the music, he headed to the kitchen and took out some bread and mayo "hey Kevin" the front door opened and the sheriff walked in "how was your day?" Kevin asked looking into the refrigerator to see what he could put in the sandwich "I got Chinese" his dad said placing a plastic bag on the counter "oh okay, movie?" Kevin asked excited and his dad nodded, Kevin put everything back in place and followed the Sheriff to the living room, the Sheriff put a tv show on and started eating.
After around half hour they had finished eating and we're watching the show, "hey I know I said I would leave Friday morning" sheriff said lowering the tv's volume "but I'm actually leaving tomorrow at lunch and coming back Monday night" the sheriff looked worried "I'm sorry, I wish I could be here, I don't like you being alone" Kevin hugged his dad "don't worry about me I can ask Veronica or Betty to stay over or I could go to their place" Kevin got up picking the empty boxes of the Chinese food "I will be fine, you go and enjoy that research meeting" Kevin chuckled and his dad followed him into the kitchen "if anything you give me a call okay?" Sheriff said "I will don't worry" Kevin hugged his dad again "going to sleep now?" "I think I'm going to work a bit" sheriff said heading to his home office "okay I'll be in my room" Kevin went upstairs and got his outfit ready for the next day, a bright blue shirt with his black sweater over it and jeans, he put the clothes in his desk chair and laid in bed scrolling through his Instagram, his phone rang "hello?" He said without checking the number
'Hello cute guy' Kevin blushed and sat on his bed smile
'Well hi Joaquin, why are you calling me? Kevin chuckled blushing
'I can't see you tomorrow' Joaquin said
'why is that so?'
'I have to do some stuff here, if I don't help with this job then the serpents will be mad' Joaquin said sadly, he really wanted to see Kevin.
'Promise you will be safe though' Kevin said worried about Joaquin.
'I will Kev' Kevin loved when Joaquin gave him nicknames, Kevin laid down again on his bed 'Kevin is getting late and you need to sleep'
'I love hearing your voice though' Kevin said blushing,
'are you tired though?' Joaquin asked concerned
'I'm fine not tired yet'
Kevin started putting his pyjamas on while holding the phone
'What are you doing?' Joaquin chuckled
'Trying to put my pyjamas on' Kevin said chuckling
"Kevin who are you talking to?" The sheriff asked opening the door, Kevin covered the phone with his hand "sorry just Veronica called, I'll go to sleep soon, sorry" the sheriff nodded "alright goodnight Kevin" Kevin smiled and when he put the phone on his ear he could only hear Joaquin laughing 'what?' Kevin asked
'as I said before, you are a bad liar Keller' they both laughed and Kevin turned his lights off so that his dad wouldn't walk in his room again, Kevin laid on his bed
'so why am I not going to see you tomorrow?' Kevin asked quietly
'the serpents are going to do a meeting, and well, I have to go, I don't know what is for though'
Kevin yawned and tried to cover the phone so that Joaquin wouldn't hear 'Kevin?' 'Yeah' 'I heard that' Joaquin laughed 'what are you talking about?' Kevin joked 'get some sleep Kev' 'I like when you give me nicknames' Joaquin smiled 'go to sleep and I might even visit you tomorrow morning''
Kevin sighed 'alright, goodnight' 'goodnight preppy' Joaquin hung up and laid in bed, he put his phone aside and put his hands on his face, he couldn't stop smiling, he was so happy that Kevin liked him.
Kevin put his phone on his side and went to sleep with a big smile on his face.
