homework and kisses
Tuesday morning Kevin woke up by the sound of his alarm, he turned his alarm off and laid on his bed for a few minutes, he heard his dad in the kitchen downstairs, he got up and took out a yellow sweater and dark jeans, he put them on his bed and went downstairs "morning Kevin" his dad yelled from the kitchen when he noticed him, "hey dad, what are you doing?" Kevin asked sitting down on the kitchen counter, "I'm making some eggs, before I go to work, maybe we could talk" Kevin started to get nervous, did his dad knew about Joaquin? had he seen them? Kevin simplify cleared his throat, "yes sure, I'll make coffee" Kevin got up and turned the coffee machine on "so what did you want to talk about?" Kevin took two mugs out of the dishwasher "well as you know the town's fair is coming up, on Friday, and I won't be here, so if you like, you could come with me..." Mr. Keller paused putting the scrambled eggs on two plates with toast on the side, there was silence until they both sat down, Kevin brought the two mugs to the counter where they both sat down, "so, do you want to come with me then?" Kevin sighed, "dad, I would love to go, but I already promised l" the sheriff nodded "okay but if you go to the fair please be careful, the serpents will go too, since is near their territory" Kevin smiled "I will be safe don't worry" they both finished their breakfast I would hang out with Betty on Saturday morning, since we haven't talked a lot" Kevin's dad smiled "I understand, I'll come back Monday, maybe we can catch a movie or something" Kevin nodded and smiled.
They both finished breakfast and Kevin went upstairs to get dressed while his dad cleaned up the kitchen, he brushed his teeth, did his hair, and got dressed, Kevin grabbed his phone heading downstairs, "well I should go now, I will probably be late" Kevin said grabbing his bag pack "I'll take you to school, is on my way to work anyways" Kevin's dad said getting his jacket and heading to the door, Kevin put his shoes on and went outside to wait in the car, "I'll be there in a second" his dad yelled from the kitchen as Kevin walked outside. While Kevin was waiting in the car for his dad his phone started ringing, it was Joaquin, but he couldn't answer since his dad would come any minute, he declined the call and texted Joaquin *dad's driving me to school, I can't answer I'm sorry* Kevin's dad got into the car and he started driving, once they got Clair to school Kevin asked his dad to park "I'll get down here don't worry" Kevin's dad stopped so that Kevin could get out "see you later Kevin" his dad smiled "um I might be late tonight, I have a project" Kevin said before closing the cars door "alright text me to check in" "yep" Kevin closed the door and waited for his dad to drive by, he checked his phone, he had one text from Joaquin *call me when your dad is not with you* as he read the text his phone started ringing again, so he picked up and started walking to the school
Hello Joaquin, Kevin said
Hey how are you?
I'm okay, I miss you
he heard Joaquin chuckled from the other line,
Um listen, I was wondering if you want to go to a library and do homework tonight? Maybe after school?
Kevin started smiling, he was getting close to the school entrance so he stopped beside the entrance to avoid people seeing him
Um sure, I could meet you there, which library are we going to? Kevin said lowering his voice trying to avoid every person walking by him
Well there is this library near the south side, is usually not full, and I don't think people we know would go there.
Joaquin was nervous Kevin might be scared to go, he really wanted to see him
Sure I'll meet you
Joaquin cut Kevin off
I'll be outside your school after you finish your classes
Kevin smiled
I will see you then
Yes um well have a nice day
You too
They were both quiet for a moment, just hearing what was happening around the other person, then Veronica approached Kevin and he had to hang up, "hey!" She said enthusiastically "hi" Kevin replied walking to her and into the school "do you maybe want to go to Pop's later today?" Veronica asked walking beside Kevin "I'm sorry, I actually have to do homework tonight but maybe on the weekend?" "I understand, and sure it would be nice to hang out soon, well I should get to class" Kevin nodded smiling and went to his locker, grabbed the books he needed and went to his first class.
