The next morning Kevin got dressed, with a grey shirt, skinny jeans and his light green jacket, he brushed his teeth and went downstairs since he heard his dad "you leaving already?" "hey Kev, sorry but I'm going to have to leave early, the murder case is getting serious, we got more clues" the sheriff put some papers on a portfolio "I left money on an envelope beside my bed, and here you go ten bucks for lunch, I'll see you Monday morning" the sheriff handed the ten dollars to Kevin, he walked around the house grabbing stuff for his trip, the sheriff headed to the main entrance "bye dad, be careful" Kevin smiled, the sheriff walked out "bye".
Kevin put the ten bucks the sheriff had gave to him on his back pocket.
Kevin headed outside his house after grabbing his bag pack walking in the street, the streets were empty, he wanted to get early to school since he wanted to go to the library and read for a few minutes, once he was away from his street he heard someone approaching so he moved to the side of the sidewalk, he stood beside the house's fence so that the person could walk by, but he felt a hand going to his waist "Hello preppy" a familiar voice said, Kevin jumped and then smiled realizing it was Joaquin "hi Joaquin" Kevin said looking at him, Joaquin had his jeans, a white shirt and a grey sweater "I thought we wouldn't see each other today" Kevin said walking beside Joaquin "I told you that if you went to sleep I would visit you, and well here I am" Joaquin's smiled "plus I miss you"
Kevin blushed at this, the streets were quiet and empty so Kevin softly pulled Joaquin's face into a kiss, the kiss was soft but passionate, Joaquin put his hands on Kevin's waist pulling him in close to his body, Kevin put his hands on Joaquin's hair, Kevin pulled away for air, "um we should keep walking" he stuttered
"yeah" Joaquin nodded putting his hands on his pockets, it was cloudy that morning, Kevin hoped it would not rain or snow soon since the fair was the next day, Kevin started looking at the trees, and Joaquin couldn't stop looking at Kevin, his hair and beautiful blue eyes "I can notice when you stare at me Joaquin" Kevin joked,
"I'm sorry" Joaquin looked down at his feet "it's fine, I do the same thing when you are not looking" Kevin chuckled "you just never notice" Joaquin rolled his eyes playfully at Kevin
They kept on walking and Joaquin wanted to grab Kevin's hand, just intertwine their fingers together, and walk, Joaquin decided to take the hand closest to Kevin and started to reach for Kevin's hand, "so the fair is tomorrow" Kevin said smiling at Joaquin "what time should I pick you up?" Joaquin said putting his hand back to his pocket "we can hang out at my house after school if you'll like" Kevin looked at Joaquin who was looking at him with 'love eyes' and a smiled "maybe four thirty? We could have dinner at my house" Kevin said as Joaquin moved in closer to him "that would be great Kev, but isn't your dad going to be there?"
"He is out for the weekend so we have the house to ourselves" Kevin smiled
They kept walking slow and quietly, Joaquin decided to make a second attempt at holding Kevin's hand, he started to reach but he wasn't sure, maybe Kevin didn't like to hold hands, their hands started brushing, since Joaquin was as close as possible with Kevin.
Kevin wanted to hold Joaquin's hand too, they kept walking, without saying a word, their fingers brushed again, and Kevin blushed at the thought of them holding hands so he intertwined his pinky finger with Joaquin's, Kevin started smiling and Joaquin knew this was his chance, so he started moving his fingers in between Kevin's, the soft brush between them, and how their fingers fit together so nicely.
They walked like that, Joaquin kept looking at kelt heir intertwined fingers, moving closer to Kevin, after some minutes of walking they got close to school "alright, well I guess I should go before someone sees us" Joaquin said stopping before they got to the end of the street
"call me tonight" Kevin said hugging Joaquin "I will" Joaquin whispered and Kevin smiled resting his forehead on Joaquin's, he inhaled his scent, such a unique scent, Kevin pressed his lips against Joaquin's forehead, kissing him softly, Joaquin smiled and put his head on Kevin's chest and his hands on Kevin's back "I will call you later preppy" Kevin pulled away, "you should get going, I don't want you to be late" Joaquin smiled "promise you will call?" Kevin smiled letting Joaquin pull away "I promise"
Kevin started to turn away, but Joaquin grabbed Kevin's jacket pulling him for a quick kiss on the lips and walking away, Kevin was taken by surprise, he blushed and kept on walking a different way from Joaquin. They waved at each other and kept walking
Kevin went on his normal day, he had lunch on the cafeteria with his friends, he had no homework except for an English project which was easy, he told Veronica and Betty he would be going to the fair with Joaquin, they were very happy for him. Kevin had a nice day, he walked home after school and tried to finish his homework before the weekend.
On the other hand Joaquin walked back to the Southside he went to his trailer and laid in bed waiting for FP to go look for him. He kept smiling every time he thought about Kevin, then a sudden knock interrupted his thoughts, he got up putting his serpent jacket on and opening the door "Hey kid" FP walked in "what do you need?" Joaquin closed the door as FP sat on an empty chair "listen I'm going to go out this weekend, and I know you are getting close to those rich kids for the North" Joaquin opened his mouth to say something but stopped "Listen I don't care who you hang out with, I just need you to keep an eye on Jughead, you know, make sure he is, well, fine" FP got up going up to Joaquin "don't tell him I sent you, don't talk to him if you don't need to. Just check if he's fine, I'll come back Tuesday. If anything happens text me" "alright I'll check on him" Joaquin said "oh and we have a meeting on the bar later tonight" FP headed outside his trailer and Joaquin closed the door. He took his jacket off and went back to his bed, he had to wake up early that morning to catch Kevin walking to school and he was exhausted, he set and alarm and fell asleep.
When he woke up by his alarm he texted Kevin *hey preppy can I call you in an hour?* he had to go to the meeting at the bar Kevin got up putting his jacket on and walking to the bar, he heard the loud music and when he opened the door the cigarette and alcohol smell filled his lungs. He walked to the basement where FP and other serpents were sitting around, FP started talking about who would go on the weekend to check up on some packages they had coming in next week, Joaquin am zoned out, he knew he wasn't going to be part of this since FP wanted him to keep and eye on his son. They kept talking and Joaquin just sat down on a chair on the back of the room, his phone vibrate it, a text from Kevin, he smiled trying to not be seen he opened it *call me whenever you can, and be safe* FP dismissed the meeting and Joaquin walked back to his trailer.
He changed into back sweatpants and left his grey shirt on, he laid in bed and dialled Kevin's number.
"Hey Kev" Joaquin said when Kevin picked up
"Hi"
"What are you doing?" Joaquin turned to his side
"I'm just finishing up a paper, but well tomorrow is Friday and I will probably won't have homework" Kevin chuckled
"I'm going to school tomorrow so I won't see you in the morning, but we still up for four thirty?" Joaquin asked
"You didn't go to school today?" Kevin sounded concerned
Joaquin sighed "um, no, but I will go tomorrow"
Kevin sounded really concerned "Joaquin, I don't want you to miss class for visiting me, okay?"
"I'm sorry, it won't happen again, I promise I won't miss school"
"You promise? You promise you will never miss school to see me"
"Alright Kev, don't worry, I won't" The line went quiet until Joaquin talked again
"You looked really cute on that jacket today"
He heard Kevin chuckle "Joaquin, you are making me blush" Kevin joked
"You look cute all the time though, you are the hottest person" Joaquin said and heard Kevin laugh, they started laughing
"I love your laugh" Kevin said
"Why are you so amazing" Joaquin said he heard a door bell from Kevin's side of the call "who is it?" Joaquin asked
"It's probably just Veronica, she wanted to rant about boy problems, you know" he heard Kevin going down the stairs of his house
"well you guys talk, and I will see you tomorrow?" Kevin opened the dork and heard Veronica come into Kevin's house
"I will see you tomorrow" Kevin smiled
"See you tomorrow Kev"
Kevin hung up and kept on smiling "was that Joaquin?" Veronica asked "yep" Kevin put his phone on his pocket "you guys seem really happy, excited for tomorrow?"
"Yes I am" Veronica and Kevin sat on the couch and talked until it was late.
