Pop's and questions
They finished the movie and Joaquin kissed Kevin's cheek before getting up and walking to the kitchen.
"I should start going, is almost five" Kevin got up and went to look for his shoes
"I will walk you Kev" Joaquin grabbed his Jean jacket and boots and waited for Kevin at the door.
Kevin was now wearing a hoodie he found on Joaquin's closet, they were walking quietly as they got out of the South side.
When they finally made it to the road to the north side Joaquin broke the silence
"I will see you this week right?"
Kevin slid his hand into Joaquin's "yeah, we could do something after school"
They walked holding hands until they were close to Kevin's house. Joaquin let go and hugged him "I will see you soon" Joaquin whispered kissing Kevin's forehead. Kevin smiled and walked to his house.
On Monday morning Veronica started talking about the homecoming dance that the school does every year.
"We have to go shopping" Veronica smirked looking at Betty and Kevin
"Sure we could go after school, what do you need?" Betty asked
"Probably a dress. What are you wearing?" Veronica asked as she finished her lunch
"I don't know yet, so Kevin.." Betty turned towards Kevin
Kevin was eating so he just looked at Betty "are you going to bring Joaquin to the dance?" She smiled
"Yes. Bring him" Veronica smiled
"I will ask him"
Lunch hour was almost over so they grabbed their stuff and headed to their lockers. Kevin texted Joaquin
'When can we meet?'
He put his phone on his pocket and went to his next class.
Time went by and he finally received a text from Joaquin on his last class
'I am walking to you school right now, see you at the main door?'
Kevin smiled 'see you there'
He payed attention to the teacher and waited until the bell rang.
He grabbed his stuff and got out as fast as possible from the classroom, he got everything he needed from his locker and started walking towards the main doors. He felt someone grabbing his wrist making him stop
"Hey!" He exclaimed looking at who had pulled him aside
"Keller, I haven't seen you all day, have you been ignoring me?" Moose smirked
"N-no" Kevin moved his arms away from Moose "I have to go. Do you need something?"
"Homecoming is close" Moose pulled Kevin closer to him "you are coming with me"
Kevin frowned at Moose's comment
"No. I am going with someone else" Kevin pulled away and started to walk away
Moose walked behind Kevin
"Does your dad know who it is? Because he does know me, and he would be more comfortable with his son going with someone he knows than a complete stranger" Moose grabbed his wrist making Kevin stop "dont you think?" He smirked
Kevin pulled away "leave me alone" he said walking as fast as he could until he got outside the school. Kevin saw Joaquin and ran up to him hugging him
"I missed you too" Joaquin chuckled
"Let's go" Kevin pulled him and way from the school and started walking to Pop's.
Once they got to Pop's, Joaquin took his jacket off and sat across from Kevin on a booth. They talked about their days and when the food came Kevin went silent.
"What's wrong?" Joaquin asked concerned
"U-uh. Nothing" Kevin gave him a sad smiled
"I'm not five. What is really wrong? " Joaquin gave Kevin a warm smile
Kevin looked down
"Preppy..."
"Okay" Kevin took a deep breath "Well. There is a homecoming dance, and I would like for you to come with me.."
Kevin looked at Joaquin who was smiling
"Yes. Of course. Let's go, it will be so much fun, I'll meet your friends and we will dance" Joaquin smiled and lifted Kevin's chin up "I would love to go"
"There is just one thing.." Kevin looked at Joaquin "Moose, he asked me to go with him and he is putting my dad knowing him as an excuse..."
Joaquin payed attention to what Kevin was saying "and well, maybe you should meet my dad..." Kevin went silent and took a sip of his milkshake to let Joaquin process the situation
"That would be nice. We can have dinner or something" Joaquin smiled
"Are you sure?" Kevin said happily
"Yes. There is no way you are going with that moose guy" Joaquin chuckled and moved to the sit beside Kevin "you are my boyfriend. You go to dances with me" Joaquin smiled and pulled Kevin into a short but soft kiss.
They finished their meals and started walking to a park nervy.
"Alright I texted my dad and I will tell him tonight about you" Kevin smiled and grabbed Joaquin's hand
"Let me know when we do the dinner, um, s-should I bring something?"
Kevin chuckled "don't worry, just show up, I'll take care of the rest"
It started to get late and they both had homework so Joaquin started walking Kevin to his house. "I will see you later okay?" Joaquin kissed Kevin's forehead and pulled him into a hug
"See you later" Kevin smiled and gave Joaquin a quick peck on the lips before walking away.
Once he entered his house he headed to his dad's small office beside the kitchen
"Hey" Kevin said putting his bag down
"Hey Kev, you wanted to talk to me? Must be serious" Kevin's dad went into the kitchen and sat on one of the kitchen stools "so... what happened?" he smiled
Kevin took a deep breath and sat across from him. "There is this guy" Kevin looked at his dad who was smiling and nodding
"We have been, I guess, hanging out, he has been very nice to me, I would like you to meet him..." Kevin smiled at his dad waiting for an answer
"If he has been good to you, why don't you bring him to dinner, I would like to meet him" Kevin's dad smiled and got up "is Friday at 6 good?"
"It's great. Yes." Kevin got up too an dhugged his dad "thank you. I'll go do skme homework now"
"We will have pasta, he doesn't have to bring anything okay?"
Kevin nodded and walked upstairs with his bagpack
'Friday at 6 for pasta sound good?' Kevin texted Joaquin before pulling out his math book
'Sounds great preppy'
Kevin smiled and started doing his homework until his dad called him downstairs for dinner.
