sweaters and fries
Wednesday Kevin woke up by a knock on his door "yeah?" He yelled half asleep trying to find a way out of his sheets "I'm taking you to school today Kev, um I also made breakfast" his dad said from the other side of the door "okay I'll be there dad" Kevin yelled back and stayed in bed staring at the ceiling, he got up and went to his closet, grabbing skinny black jeans, a black shirt and a yellow sweater, he did his bed and headed downstairs "morning" he said hugging his dad and sitting down on the counter "I made pancakes" the sheriff said handing Kevin a plate with two pancakes, Kevin put syrup on them and started eating, "it's starting to get cold, but it will be nice this weekend, I'll miss you" the sheriff said serving himself pancakes too "I'm sorry I had plans with Veronica" Kevin said smiling sadly towards his dad "is fine Kev, we will go out another time, I understand is harder to be with your friends when you don't even know if you are safe" the sheriff got up and put some dishes on the dishwasher "I appreciate what you do dad" Kevin said hugging him again, "I'm going to get ready" Kevin sprinted up the stairs, brushing his teeth, getting dressed and running to get his backpack downstairs.
The sheriff drove, he didn't talk a lot, it was quiet, once they were close to the school the sheriff stopped, "here you go" the sheriff said giving Kevin ten dollars "that's for your lunch" "thank you, I will see you after school" Kevin smiled putting the bill on his back pocket and walking to school, the school was kind of empty, it was earlier than Kevin usually came to school, Kevin crossed the street and started walking to the school's entrance as his dad drove away.
"Hey" Kevin heard a familiar voice, he turned around and saw Joaquin leaning against a tree with a grey hoodie on, "what are you doing here so early?" Kevin asked approaching they boy, "I wanted to see you" Joaquin said with a shy smile, Kevin looked around, there was no one outside just them, Kevin grabbed Joaquin's face kissing him softly, Joaquin out his arms around Kevin's waist, pulling him closer to him, they kissed for a few seconds until Joaquin's phone went on, Joaquin pulled away "sorry" he said picking up "yeah? No... I can't fine I will" Joaquin hung up and put his phone on his jean pocket, "listen, I'm sorry, I have to go deal with something" Joaquin looked down putting his hands on his pockets, Joaquin could see the sad look on Kevin's face, "what time is your lunch?" Kevin looked at Joaquin smiling "twelve thirty to one fifteen" Kevin said softly grabbing Joaquin's hand "meet me here okay?" Joaquin kissed Kevin quickly on the lips and walked away, Kevin went back to the school.
Kevin went to his first classes, his hands were cold and he couldn't wait to see Joaquin, the bell was going to ring soon so Kevin took his phone and texted Veronica *hey Ronnie I won't eat lunch with you guys today, see you later?* Kevin's teacher kept talking about some equations and numbers, Veronica replied right away *where are you going to be?* Kevin didn't know what to reply so he had to lie *my dad is taking me out for lunch* he typed and sent the text, Kevin payed attention back to his teacher "alright class you can go early for lunch" the teacher said sitting on his desk.
Kevin grabbed his books and went to his locker, he had ten minutes until he had to meet Joaquin outside, when he got to the hallway where his locker was he saw Veronica standing up beside his locker with her arms crossed "well, Mr. Keller, what is up with you?" Veronica said as Kevin opened his locker and putting his books inside, "so where are you actually going?"
Veronica said when Kevin closed his locker "with my dad" Kevin stutter, "Kevin?" "Alright alright I will tell you later, I just really need to go" Kevin said closing his locker "alright go, but be safe okay?" Kevin nodded and Veronica walked to Betty's locker, thankfully she was already there "hey" Betty said when she saw Veronica "um I think something is up with Kevin" Veronica whispered "what do you mean?" Betty asked confused "he has been a bit, mysterious? I don't know he said he will tell me later" Veronica said walking with Betty to the cafeteria "well now I have to know too" Betty chuckled and walked with Veronica into the cafeteria to join Archie and Jughead.
Kevin walked outside the school, once he got near the tree where he had seen Joaquin that morning, Joaquin was standing there, he had change clothes, Joaquin was now wearing black Jeans, a grey shirt and a jean jacket. "Hey" Kevin said grabbing Joaquin's face and kissing him softly "so where are we going?" Joaquin asked walking beside Kevin, "Pop's?" Kevin asked "um is it busy?" Joaquin looked at Kevin "there is an event at school many people stayed in for lunch, shall we go then?" Kevin stopped while Joaquin thought about it "alright let's go, just saying I have never been there, so you will tell me what to order" Joaquin chuckled, Kevin nodded "this is going to be fun" they both chuckled and kept walking trying to not be seen, thankfully Joaquin didn't have his serpent jacket so people didn't questioned the two boys walking.
When they got to Pop's Kevin walked in first while Joaquin held the door for Kevin, Kevin started walking to the very back of the place, they sat in a booth facing each other, the waitress came, a young woman that Kevin hadn't seen before, she gave them the menus and walked away, "okay Kevin what should I order?" Kevin didn't even looked at the menu, he raised his hand and the waitress came back "what can I bring you boys?" She said smiling "okay, we will have two milkshakes" Kevin turned to Joaquin "strawberry?" "Whatever you like" Joaquin smirked, this made Kevin blush "well, um" Kevin stuttered "two strawberry milkshakes, two fries and two cheese hamburgers" Kevin smiled "alright, I will be right back" the waitress walked away "we have thirty more minutes until you have to be back" Joaquin said looking at Kevin "oh yeah, don't worry, we come here all the time and we make it right in time" Kevin looked down at his jeans, so Joaquin slid beside Kevin on the booth, Joaquin placed his arm around Kevin's waist, and looked to check no one was paying attention, thankfully everyone was minding their own business, so Joaquin reached to Kevin's face with his other hand, kissing him, Kevin reached to Joaquin's back pulling him in closer, the door's bell rang and they pulled away, there were two girls, around Kevin and Joaquin's age, Joaquin stayed beside Kevin, Joaquin startedthe waitress came with two plates placing them in front of the two boys "enjoy" she said happily approaching the girls that just walked in, Joaquin started eating his fries "this are so good" he said as he kept eating "I'm glad you like them" Kevin chuckled, they finished eating, Joaquin finished first and drank his milkshake as he looked at Kevin "what?" Kevin said worrying he had food around his mouth "you are very cute" Joaquin said shyly and went back to drinking his milkshake, Kevin blushed "um well we should start going then" Kevin got up and headed to the counter pulling the twenty dollar bill out, Joaquin got up and followed Kevin "I'll pay" Joaquin said reaching for his jean's back pocket "I got it" Kevin said handing his twenty dollar bill to the waitress "you can keep the change" he said smiling and holding the door for Joaquin, "thank you Kevin, um that was really amazing" Kevin smiled "so you liked the fries?" Kevin said brightly "yes I loved the fries" they both chuckled and kept on walking until they got close to the school, with five minutes before Kevin had to go back to class.
"Today was fun" Joaquin said walking to a tree that was near the school, "and it was, amazing being with you" Joaquin said looking at Kevin not knowing what else to say, Kevin was looking down at his shoes "you alright?" Joaquin asked as he softly lifted Kevin's chin with his hand "I have just, well" Kevin shacked his head looking back down "I have never had this, the go out and have fries, or sneak outs and you are so amazing and I don't even, know" he paused "why would you hang out with me? You can get anyone and you..." Kevin had a sad look, once again Joaquin checked that no one was looking, so he pulled Kevin in closer, and smacking his lips on Kevin's, he kissed him softly until he needed air "listen Kev, I don't know what others have told you, but you are a really cute guy, and I do all this with you, because, well, Kevin Keller, I really like you" Joaquin kissed him again, Kevin blushed "I really like you too" they both had one last kiss "I think I should go, before I'm late" Kevin pulled away from Joaquin's arms, "I will call you tonight" Joaquin said as Kevin started walking into his school.
Kevin got to his class right in time. He went to his other classes and kept trying to focus on the lesson, his thoughts just kept wondering off to Joaquin, and how nice and special he made him feel. The bell rang, "class dismissed" he heard and everyone started to get up, he had zoned out for an entire period, he grabbed his binders and walked to his locker, once he got to the hallway his locker was in, he saw Betty and Veronica standing beside it and talking, he took a deep breath and kept walking over to them, "hello" he said opening his locker and getting his bag out, "so are you telling us?" Betty said smiling "okay I'm going home, but we can meet somewhere later tonight?" Veronica and Betty glanced at each other "Kevin you promised" "I know I did, I just have homework" "okay we will pick you up at seven?" Veronica asked "okay, yeah that works" Betty smiled and Kevin smiled back, walking away.
