Texts and Ferris wheel
The fair grounds were fifteen minutes away from Kevin's house if they walked. Joaquin held Kevin's hand intertwining his fingers with him while they walk, he was now confident about it, he loved holding Kevin's hand, he felt comfortable around him, for the first time in a long time.
Joaquin had brought his bag since he had his money and stuff there, "so you take photography class?" Kevin asked
"No, Southside high doesn't offer that, but I take pictures on my free time and well I help in the school when I can" Joaquin smiled getting closer to Kevin
They kept on walking "what ride should we go on first?" Kevin asked excited because they were close to the fair
"Well I was thinking maybe you chose? I haven't been on the fair before" Joaquin smiled shyly "nothing scary please" he chuckled putting his hands on Kevin's waist pulling him in for a quick kiss before they entered the fair.
Kevin pulled Joaquin to the ticket booth, he was really excited he had always loved the fair, since he was a kid. Kevin bought tickets for both of them and they started to walk around, "alright Keller, I am trusting you with my life" Joaquin chuckled "nothing scary at first please" Joaquin have Kevin puppy eyes.
"Alright" Kevin rolled his eyes playfully at Joaquin and walking to their first ride which was called 'the hurricane'
Thankfully there wasn't a lot of people which made waiting for the rides shorter, they got into a seat and buckled up while the other people did the same, the owner came and closed the gate, walking away
"so what does this game do exactly?" Joaquin asked
"it spins us around, and well, is fun you'll see" Kevin said smiling, the game started spinning slow
"oh gosh Kevin" Joaquin muttered grabbing onto the bar in front of him, Kevin chuckled and the game started going faster and faster, everyone started screaming and laughing except Joaquin who had now wrapped his arms around Kevin he was scared, when the ride stopped Kevin was still laughing and Joaquin unwrapped himself from Kevin, the owner opened the gates and let everyone out, Kevin and Joaquin started to walk "so how was it?" Kevin said smirking at Joaquin "it was fun" Joaquin chuckled "the truth is I was scared" Kevin couldn't stop chuckling "I noticed" he gave Joaquin a quick kiss on the forehead. "You were brave" Kevin joked.
They started walking to a dart game where you popped balloons and win a price "I suck at darts" Kevin said "I can try" Joaquin payed the lady five dollars "you know how it works right?" the lady said smiling Joaquin nodded and started throwing the darts, he popped the five balloons in one try "alright choose the price" the lady moved so that he would be able to see the different stuffed animals, Kevin stood beside him "the teddy bear" Joaquin pointed at the very far corned of the booth, the lady nodded and gave Joaquin the stuffed animal.
He pulled Kevin away from all the people "This is for you preppy" Joaquin gave the teddy bear to Kevin. Kevin took it and smiled "thank you" he hugged Joaquin putting his arms around his neck and Joaquin putting his hands on Kevin's waist.
Kevin's phone rang again, he pulled away from the hug "I'm sorry" he said getting his phone out, a text from Betty *hey Kev Veronica and I will pick Jug and Archie in about thirty minutes, just letting you know*
"It's just Betty" Kevin said, Joaquin took the stuffed animal and put it on his bag so that they didn't have to carry it, Joaquin waited for Kevin to text Betty back *thank you, we will leave probably when you get here, we'll see, thank you*
Kevin ignored Moose's texts and put his phone back on his pocket "she is coming to the fair with Veronica and Archie, and Jughead so" Joaquin nodded "should we keep going?" Kevin asked and Joaquin nodded.
Next they went to the next game called the 'the pirate ship'
They made the line behind some people, "okay so this game" Kevin's tarted saying and realizing Joaquin already had a terrifying look on his face, he chuckled "this game we sit down and the ship will balance from side to side it will go higher every time" Joaquin nodded and opened his mouth to say something but the owner of the ride interrupted "alright please be careful with the steps" the man yelled opening the gate.
They sat down and waited for the owner to make sure everyone was sited, Joaquin held Kevin's hand trying to be discreet "Keller if I die" Kevin chuckled "you won't die" Kevin said to Joaquin "I'll protect you"
the ride started, lifting people up in the air slowly, they were held in the air "oh this is not that bad" Joaquin said and then the game brought them down fast and up in the air again, from side to side. Joaquin screamed like the other people, but Kevin started laughing at Joaquin's reaction.
They got off the game laughing, "well that one took me by surprise" said Joaquin as they walked away from the game "I know it did" Kevin kept laughing, they decided to walk around for a couple of minutes until Kevin decided to get into the Ferris wheel "okay I know how this one works" Joaquin said as they got in the line for the Ferris wheel.
There were two people in charge of the game, a guy that controlled the speed and stops of the game and a girl who made sure everyone payed and buckled up.
Kevin payed the girl and they both sat down she checked they were buckled up and the wheel started to go around, slowly, when they got to the top Joaquin broke the silence "Kevin" he said looking at him "yeah?" Kevin said smiling, "I really like you preppy" Joaquin took a deep breath and Kevin blushed at his comment "you are so handsome you drive me crazy preppy" Joaquin reached for Kevin's waist and kissed him softly, Kevin kissed back holding Joaquin's hand.
The Ferris wheel started moving again and they pulled away, they kept holding hands until the ride was over. They got off the ride and stopped holding hands since someone called Kevin "I'm sorry it might be my dad Kevin said walking to a quiet place to check his phone, it was only a text from Veronica *we are at the fair, we will buy tickets and food first, have fun* Kevin sighed
"okay so they are here, do you want to go?" Kevin said
"sure, um, do you mind if I get you some food?" Joaquin asked
"sure yeah, let's go" Kevin smiled
"It's okay wait for me here and we will go to your house after, because your friends are over there" Joaquin pointed at Veronica, Betty, Jughead and Archie who were in line to buy tickets, Kevin and Joaquin walked behind a ride "okay I will wait here" Joaquin walked away and Kevin decided to see what Moose's texts said
*have you changed your mind yet Kev? I am still waiting for an answer*
Kevin rolled his eyes and read the next text
*I know you want to fool around, come on Kevin, maybe go to the fair with me?*
Kevin texted back
*listen, I have lots of homework I don't think I can go out right now*
He got a reply really quickly
*I am outside your house, where are you?* -moose
*what are you doing outside my house?! I went out to get dinner*
*should I wait here?* -moose
Kevin rolled his eyes, he couldn't be rude to Moose because he would suspect something and tell Kevin's dad
*I am coming back to the house with some friends, sorry, we have a project*
Moose texted back *alright but I will visit you one of these days ;)*
Kevin did not answer, he had to think of a way to let Moose know he wasn't interested in him anymore. In fact he had found someone better.
While Joaquin ordered the food he did as FP had told him, he checked up that Jughead was fine, he seemed fine, he was with his friends and it looked like he was staying at Archie's house, he kept listening to the conversation between Veronica and Archie, "Jughead is staying at my house the next days, we can work out in the songs later" Joaquin heard Archie say "alright" Veronica stopped talking for a few seconds "um I want popcorn" she stuttered and walked fast to another food place. Joaquin grabbed the food he payed for and walked away.
He walked back with a bag and two cotton candies "hey" he said as Kevin put his phone away "my dad just making sure I was alive" Kevin said grabbing the bag fool of food.
Veronica saw Kevin and Joaquin "hey guys can we go there" she started walking to the way opposite from Kevin and Joaquin, Betty noticed what she was doing so she followed along "yes I love that, um let's go" she stuttered and they walked a different direction.
Kevin started walking beside Joaquin, Kevin helped carrying the food and Joaquin didn't let Kevin touch the cotton candy. They walked making jokes about how Joaquin was so scared of the rides, once they got to Kevin's street, Kevin checked there was no one waiting outside "alright come on" he said quietly as they walked to his house. Kevin opened the door letting Joaquin come in, they took their shoes off and Kevin locked the door and closed all the blinds, he left the food on the living room and got some napkins, Joaquin took his jacket off and sat beside his bag on the living room. Kevin joined him and Joaquin started opening the food packages.
