hamburgers and walks
Joaquin had asked Kevin to meet after school, as usual Kevin would go behind the trees so they wouldn't be seen.
Joaquin received Kevin with a single rose and a letter "hey Kev" Joaquin wrapped his arms around Kevin's waist "hi" Kevin replied bringing Joaquin to a kiss which he broke due to the lack of air "so... why did you want to see me before tonight?" Kevin asked as Joaquin pulled the rose and letter towards him: "open it".
Kevin took it and opened the letter after putting the rose inside his bag pack, the letter said:
'Kevin,
You have been there for me when I needed someone, you are a very sweet and caring boyfriend who I really hope to be with always'
Kevin folded back the paper and hugged Joaquin bringing him to a passionate but slow kiss "thank you" Kevin said hugging Joaquin's neck "I will see you tonight at seven" Kevin said before pulling away from the hug, Joaquin nodded "I'll see you at seven" he smiled and walked away.
Kevin's dad was running a Kevin's the house trying to clean everything perfectly "dad don't worry is just a dinner" Kevin smiled at him as they both put plates on the table
"Is not just a dinner, is my first dinner meeting your boyfriend" The sheriff sighed "it's important to me" Kevin finished putting plates on the table and approached his dad "thank you" he said before hugging him.
"Kevin I forgot go get the ice cream for dessert , can you please go get some?" Sheriff Keller yelled from kitchen, Kevin walked to get his jacket "I will be back shortly, Joaquin will be here soon so get ready" Kevin hugged his dad and walked outside.
Joaquin walked to FP's trailer after he was ready "hey, do I look okay?" Joaquin said entering FP's trailer, "looking good kid, here I will drive you" FP hugged him and they walked to FP's truck "do you think we could stop by the flower shop before getting to Kevin's house?"
FP nodded and they started driving.
Kevin came back with the ice cream to find his dad running around the kitchen and the smell of burned food "what did you do?" Kevin laughed helping his dad clean the mess "I went upstairs to get ready but didn't turned the stove off and now it's all burned" Sheriff said as he cleaned the kitchen "you are not supposed to leave it unsupervised" Kevin laughed "I'll call Veronica don't worry just get dressed" Kevin moved his dad away from the kitchen.
After a couple of minutes sheriff Keller was upstairs getting ready, Kevin was downstairs cleaning the rest of the kitchen.
Sheriff Keller walked downstairs and the doorbell ringed "remember to stay calm" Kevin said to his dad before opening the door.
"Hello" Joaquin said as he walked in and shook hands with Kevin's dad "I'm Joaquin" Joaquin took his shoes off and Kevin closed the door, "this are for you" Joaquin said handing a bouquet of flowers to Kevin "you didn't have to" Kevin hugged him.
"Let's go to the living room, before dinner" sheriff Keller smiled and lead the way. They sat and sheriff explained he had burned dinner but Kevin had ordered something,
"Don't worry about it" Joaquin chuckled, the next few minutes were spent on Kevin's dad asking questions about Joaquin and how they met, "we did met at the drive thru"
Veronica arrived half hour after with a bag of Pop's Diner, Kevin received the food and thanked Veronica before walking to the dining room
"Food is here!" Kevin cheered "hope you guys like hamburgers and fries" Kevin chuckled as he put the bag on the table
"We should sit" Sheriff Keller said, they did as told and Kevin opened the bag to pass the hamburgers, they had a conversation as they ate, the dinner wasn't uncomfortable, Kevin was relieved that his dad seemed to like Joaquin. After dinner Kevin picked up the dishes and took them to the kitchen with Joaquin's help.
"do you guys want some ice cream?" Kevin's dad said as he entered the kitchen, as Kevin washed the dishes his dad served the ice cream into the bowls.
After the kitchen was clean they all say on the kitchen counter and let Kevin's dad do some more questions about their relationship
"Well Joaquin, I like you, you seen to really care about Kevin and that is very important to me" the sheriff stood up and Joaquin followed "you two promise me you will keep this relationship safe right?" The sheriff said looking at the two,
"I can keep Kevin safe sir" Joaquin said firmly; Sheriff Keller smiled and hugged Joaquin "I'm glad to hear that" the sheriff backed away from the hug "well it was a pleasure to meet you Joaquin, I hope I see more of you around the house. And I will be in my office but feel free to call me if you two need anything"
Joaquin nodded "thank you sir" Kevin's dad smiled and walked away.
Kevin and Joaquin decided to go for a walk since it was nice outside,
"We will be back in half hour" Kevin said to his dad before walking outside. They walked to the park nervy Kevin's house "it wasn't that bad right?" Joaquin asked as he took Kevin's hand
"It wasn't, he actually likes you, and now you can come over any time you want" Kevin smiled. They say in a bench, Joaquin kissed Kevin's cheek "I truly meant it" he said, Kevin smiled and questioned "what?" Joaquin looked down "I wanna protect you, and keep you safe in any situation even if it means I get hurt, I just couldn't handle if you got hurt"
Kevin smiled and pushed Joaquin's head up gently "listen, you don't have to worry of me getting hurt, I have you and I'm safe" Kevin kissed Joaquin's forehead
"I'm so lucky to have you" Joaquin whispered turning to face Kevin and hugging him "I'm lucky to have you to" Kevin broke the hug and kissed him on the lips softly,
"We should get you home soon" Joaquin smiled and got up, Kevin followed his actions and grabbed his hand.
They walked home slowly and in silence, once they were outside Kevin's house Joaquin stopped "I should go home before it gets later' Joaquin said letting go of Kevin's hand "I'll come tomorrow, we can watch a movie or something" he smiled at Kevin, "alright I'll see you tomorrow" Kevin kissed Joaquin on the lips and waited for him to walk away, Kevin walked back in his house and went to his dad's office "hey" he said as he opened the door to find his dad putting papers on files "so did you like him?" Kevin asked as he sat down in front of his dad.
The sheriff put the papers down and looked at Kevin "he is an amazing person, and he really cares about you, so yes, I like Joaquin, he seems like a good boyfriend" the sheriff smiled
"Thank you dad. For tonight" Kevin smiled and got up to hug his dad "I'll go upstairs now, call me if you need anything" Kevin said letting go of the hug "goodnight Kev" his dad answered and smiled.
Kevin went to finish homework from other classes, worked of how he would handle being with Moose for his project.
