A/n: this chapter will start in Ryan's pov
It's been about 3 more hours since I went to the front desk. My mom went back home and Cj's family is back at the hospital with me. We still don't have answers to anything. We all had so many questions. What's happening in that OR? How much longer will this take? Is she even going to make it? When will we be able to see her? What happened? Why was she rushed to the Operation Room? So many unanswered questions.
We all sat in silence. Another hour pasted, and another. It's 10:00 am right now, they took her at 3:00 am, that means she's been in surgery for nearly 7 hours. How can her body be dealing with this? Just as that thought crossed my mind a doctor came in, he looked exhausted. "Are you Cj's family?" He asked. Her father stood up. "Yes sir. Do you have an update on her, can we see her soon?" He asked. The doctor sighed. My heart skipped a beat, she's gone I know it. "Stop thinking that, Ryan!" I yelled to myself in my head. "Yes. Come with me, all of you may come if you'd like." He said and motioned for us to follow. When we got in the elevator he spoke up once again. "Before you'll be allowed to see Cj I will be taking you toy office and explain what happened and what will happen from this point." We all silently nodded.
When we got to his office we all sat down and he began to explain what happened. "So everything that happened was a complete accident, and we couldn't be more sorry about it. For now on Cj will have a different nurse. So what happened was first, Cj's air tank malfunctioned which caused her to have to work harder to be able to breathe. So then her heart rate picked up, it was not enough to alarm us, it was almost like she was having a nightmare and she was just scared so we let it slide. Then she did a complete one-eighty if you will. Her breathing slowed way town and got shallow, he heart rate slowed way town and that's when we came to check on her. When we got there we checked he IV, he had gotten clogged somehow, we are still look into that. And this is when things took a complete turn for the worst. She quit breathing. We got her breathing again with in a minute with an air bag. That's when we decided to take her to the OR just to evaluate everything to make sure everything else is ok. And that's when we found it. A second and Third tumor was found, one on her lymph nodes and one on he lung. Both are cancerous, we removed all of the tumor on her lymph nodes but as we went to remove the one on her lung that's began to fill with fluid. That's what took us in the OR we couldn't find where the fluid was coming from. When we found it we had drained her lungs and stopped the fluid. We were not able to remove the tumor, her body would be under way too much stress. We will monitor it for a few days until she is well rested and then go back in and remove it. Once again I'm truly sorry for this unfortunate situation." I had finally gotten the answers I needed.
It took us a minute to take in all that he said. Then Cj's mom broke the silence "Please do not apologize. If her equipment didn't malfunction then y'all wouldn't of found the tumor." The doctor just nodded. "Would y'all like to see her? She still asleep and won't wake up for a while, her body is exhausted. She is in the ICU for now." We all got up and followed him to the ICU.
There she was. She was alive. She had so many machines hooked up to her, but she was still beautiful.
