Hide and Seek and Sulk

I used to believe I sought fulfillment
But time made me feel otherwise.
To what extent
Can someone flee
The dark side of the moon?

Misfortune lines the sheets at night,
Draining like a parasite.
Future plans I had to throw away
Make each moment a rainy day.

Novocaine and ibrophen
Cannot dull the ache within.
Dodging questions and frequent sighs
Fed my misled heart with lies.

Trudging through my darkest hour,
I refused to play into this twisted masquerade.
I unveiled the monster, ignorance,
And sealed it back in its cave.

And with its departure, an unwelcome stench crept in,
Lingering and rancid.
The disgusting truth had been revealed.

It truely was you I sought.
With old chains broken,
Gravity bound me to the dirt once more.
Because in the end,
I'm but a slave to loneliness.
