Shades of Amber

Sweetness,
Fill my lungs with your delightful helium,
Overload my eardrums
To the point of lovely static,
And wash warmth over my face.
Rain may fall in the cities
And the widows may weep for me,
But shades of amber can cure my lonliness.

Golden eyes and golden skies;
Bronzed years and bronzed tears.
The silent pleas of brown leaves
Can be soothed and eased by me.
Beauty in a light beige,
With laughter rolling in soft waves,
Would you dance with me under the stars
Even though I'm no charmer of hearts?

Shades of amber, fill my mind
And rejuvenate my smile.
I'd rather fall from unknown heights
Than see my shades of amber cry.
