I Don't Miss You - Poetry

Four years have gone,
Four years have passed.
I can't believe I just saw you,
And all I did was laugh.

Well technically I didn't...
I actually smiled.
And it was real to be honest,
I couldn't believe it for a while.

Please forgive my harshness,
My rudeness, for being blunt.
But sarcastically I actually thought you were dead,
That's just me being a ...(lol).

But in all honesty,
I thought you had gone away.
Forgotten this place, Hell forgotten me,
I'm clueless as what to say.

I was awestruck, dumbfounded, Even with that stupid smile.
But what caught me off guard,
Was what you did in that while.

Granted it was less than a moment,
You'd probably say you did not,
But it's the small things I think about,
And I'm sure that's what I caught.

You smiled!
You freaking smiled at me!
Even if it was just in my direction.
It was there for me to see.

All those years ago.
I had buried what I had.
Or so I thought I did. ...
Wait, was that your dad?

I mean, I saw the guy,
But my sight left lingered on you.
Infinitesimally I was carried back to that day,
... omg what did I do.

I mean, you could care less,
Frankly, so could I,
But to see you and know that's possibly forgotten....
Shit man I could cry (insert laugh/tears emoji)

Somehow In that moment,
Granted, it might just be me.
But I felt somewhat forgiven...
And I wish that's how it could be.

Since that day,
I've cursed every moment, every time we spent.
But never have I regretted,
Doing what I did ever since.

I told you already,
I know I've said it before .
How it hurts to pass your house everyday,
And wish you'd step out your door.

I've been thinking since then,
That's something I really shouldn't do.
But what if, genuinely asking....
What if I texted you.

I'll shut up,
At least for now anyhow.
I can't believe I'm saying this,
"How art thou."
