Great, a class that is boring and something that I don't love. I finally found the class and got lucky that I wasn't late, but there was still kids sitting in there seats. I walked up to the teacher and she signed and handed me a English book and I took a seat.
Madison walked in and she saw me and sat down in the front of the desk, a few minutes the bell ring telling us that class has started. The teacher told us to open our books and read in silent. An hour later the bell ringed and I headed to my third class, which is World History. I walked into the class and gave the teacher my slip and he gave me a World History book. I sat down at a seat and I saw Madison sitting close to the window. We opened our book and read a page, then a hour later the bell ringed and we had lunch.
I walked into the cafeteria and grabbed a trey and put a sandwich, apple, and vanilla pudding. I paid for it and I turned around and everyone was chattering with their friends and there were no open spots. I went outside and some people were sitting on the grass and there were benches under some of the trees. I sat down at a bench under the trees and started eating my sandwich, then I got a text from Charlie.
hey, how is your first day going? Have you talk to her yet?
I texted him back,
its going fine and no I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet.
I took another bite of my sandwich and I got another text from Charlie.
you need to get on it. Man up and talk to her. We are counting on you to do this mission, Riley.
I text him back again,
I know sir, I will talk to her. Just be patient, Charlie.
I finished my sandwich and went onto my apple. I got another text from Charlie.
okay, I'm trusting you.
I closed my phone and took a bite of my apple and looked around to see if Madison was anywhere. I saw her sitting at a table with her friends and some jocks. Great, so she is one of the popular people, this is going to be hard. I already showed that I'm geek in her math class.
The bell ringed and I headed for P.E. We were playing football, which was my kind of sport and so is baseball. The guys were playing football and the girls were playing volleyball. I had so much fun, the coach asked me to be on the football team as a quarterback, he said his quarterback got injured and they were looking for another player. I accepted, I could not turn that down. Maybe this will get me to be in the popular crowd and change the geek image.
After P.E. I had Biology. I walked into the class and the teacher signed it and gave me a book. I sat down at a table and grabbed my notebook and pencil out and set it on the table.
"What is up with you, you're in all of my classes?" A strange voice said.
I looked up and it was Madison, she actually talked to me. Now what did she say.
"What?" I said in a confused tone.
"Your in all of my classes. What are you stalking me?" She said in frustrated tone.
"What, no. They just gave me my schedule. I'm new." I said with a nonchalant tone.
"Oh, right... I'm sorry, I was just curious, because I kept seeing you in my classes."
"Its okay. I forgive you." I said with a smirk.
She smiled at me and put her hair behind her ear shyly, "I'm Madison Avery."
"Riley Mason."
We shook hands and she smiled again.
"So, would it be okay if I sat down?" She asked shyly
I looked at the seat and up at her quickly, "Yeah, you can. Its not like I have a partner, I'm new."
She smiled, "That's true. So, where did you move from?"
"Um...I actually live in this town, I just changed schools."
Her eyebrows pulled together, "Why, did you change schools?"
I cleared my throat, "Because, I kind of got into trouble."
Nice, now I seem like a bad boy. Smooth thinking, Riley.
"What kind of trouble? I hope it wasn't too big of a deal." She said in a gentle tone.
"Just grades and hanging with the wrong crowd." I said nonchalant.
Smooth again. I like my quick thinking.
"Ooh, that is bad, if it has to deal with grades. Well, now you can make a fresh start and hang with the right crowds. Hey, how about tomorrow you hang with my friends and I for lunch." She said with a little excitement.
I gave her smile, "Sure, that would be great."
"Awesome. Well, I better get back to my partner. I'm not suppose to sit here." She said with a little chuckle.
"Oh... Okay, see you later."
"Be looking forward to it." She said as she turned around to look at me and she gave me a smile.
I looked down at my book and my lips form into a smile.
After school I walked to the Administrated office and gave my slips to the women, then I was walking to my red 1968 Ford Mustang car and I saw Madison and she waved at me and I waved back. I got into my car and drove off and went to pick up Tyler and went home.
I was making cheeseburgers, when my mom walked in, "Oooh something smells good."
"What perfect timing mom." I said with a chuckle.
"I know, my stomach is thinking the same thing. I'm starving." She retorted back.
I gave her smile as I was putting the cheeseburgers on a plat, "Hey Tyler dinner is ready." I yelled.
Tyler got up from the couch and ran to the kitchen with a smile on his face. He gave mom a hug and she kissed him on the top of his head.
"Hey Tyler can you set the table?" I asked him, while I was getting the stuff for the cheeseburgers.
"Sure." He said as he was getting them.
He started setting the table and I put the cheeseburgers in the middle of the table and poured us glasses of milk and set the chips on the table. We all sat down and was putting stuff on our cheeseburgers.
"So, how was everyone's day?" Mom asked as she took a bite of a chip.
Tyler got excited, "It was awesome, my teacher gave me a 100% on my spelling test. She told me I should enter the Spelling Bee."
"That's great, Tyler. I'm really proud of you." Mom said with enthusiasm, "I think you should, that would be great for you to do."
"I know. I'm thinking about doing it." Tyler said with a smile as he popped a chip in his mouth.
"I think its really cool to Tyler." I said with a smile.
Mom turned to me, "So, how was your first day, Riley?"
"It was good. My P.E. coach asked me to be their quarterback."
"Did you say yes?" She interrupted.
"Yes, I did. Then my math teacher, Mr. Edwards asked me to be on the math triathlon, but I told him I would think about it."
Her eyebrows pulled together, "Why did you do that?"
"Because its not cool and I didn't want my first day to be known as a geek."
"Riley!"
"What! Its true." I retorted back.
"Riley, you enjoy math, you shouldn't care what people think, you should do what you like."
"I know, but the girl for my mission is popular and I need to be popular."
"Okay, its your decision Riley. I know you will make the right choice." Mom said as she took a drink of her milk and I took a drink of my milk too.
