I got into my car and drove to Madison's house, her car was already there. I walked up to door and knocked. She opened it and had a smile on her gorgeous face.
"Hey, come on in." She said as she had the door opened for me.
I walked in and in front of you is stairs and to your left is the living and to your right is the kitchen. She led me to the living, which had a dark brown couch and dark brown coffee table then to the of the right of the couch is a brick fireplace and above the fireplace mantle is a screen television. Behind the couch is a window with white curtains. We sat down on the couch and the books were on the coffee table.
"Do you want anything to drink?" She asked politely
"Um...Sure"
"What would like?" She said as she got up.
"Um...Do you have any ice tea?"
"Yeah, I'll be right back." She said as she started to leave.
Then I got a text from Charlie.
Are you in her house?
Then I texted back
Yes, I'm about to look around.
I got up from the couch and started looking around. I saw on the fireplace mantle that there were pictures. I gave them a close look. There was one when she was little and she was with her dad and her mom and they were at the beach. Another photo was with her dad and her laughing. Another photo was of her being a cheerleader and some formal dance pictures with her friends and her and one with Seth. they had their arms around each other, almost like they were a couple.
"Oh you saw the pictures." She said with a chuckle.
I turned around startled, "Yeah, there nice pictures." I said as I looked back at them.
"Yeah, some have good memories and some not so much." She said solemn tone.
I gave her a curious look, "Why is that?" I asked as I walked back to the couch.
"Oh its nothing. Let's get back to studying." She said as she opened her math book.
I looked at her and then I cleared my throat, "Um...before we start, can I use your restroom?"
"Yeah, there is one down the hall." She said as she pulled her hair behind her ear.
I gave her smile, "Thanks."
I stood up and walked down the hall, then I saw a basement door that said 'Keep Out' I looked around to see if she was there or her dad. I opened the door and press a button on my watch and then a light popped up. I walked down the stairs quietly. I saw that they have security lasers. I looked around and the ceiling had metal pipes and I grabbed a rope and hooked to the back of my pants and it had a magnetic at the end. I threw the rope and it magnetize to the pipe, it pulled me up. I looked to my right and there was a button to turn the lasers off. I started climbing, like I was a kid on the monkey bars. I pressed the button. Then they disappeared. I let my self down and I saw these blueberries and a chemical station. I grabbed my gloves picked one up and then the glove started smoking where my finger is at. I dropped it really quickly and I saw a hole. I couldn't believe what I saw. It looks like these blueberries have acid in them. This is what they are using. I wish I could put it in something but it will just burn through it. I will have to come back with something that won't burn through. Then I started to take pictures with my phone. Least I could show them something. I walked up the stairs and turned the lasers button back on and then turned off the light on my watch, then went into the bathroom and pretend to flush.
I walked into the living and she was reading the math book, then she looked up at me and I gave her a smile. I sat down, “So, what problem is hard for you?” “Um…this one.” She pointed at a polynomial.
“Oh okay.” I grabbed a notebook and pencil and wrote down the problem and showed her how to do it.
She started on another one and she showed me the answer and she got it right. She did another one and got it right.
“Wow, your getting them right. I told you math is easy.”
She nodded her head with a smile, “Yeah, your right, it is easy.”
I gave her smile back, “So, what else?”
She looked out the window, she’s been looking out there for quiet awhile, I looked at her curiously, “What is it? What’s out there that is so curious?” I said with a smirk. “Um…There is this guy in his car and he is always here everyday at this time.” She said in a frightful tone.
My eyebrows went down and I looked out the window, “What does he do?”
She shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know, all he does is just sit in his car and then when my dad shows up he leaves.”
“Well, I’m going to end this.” I said as I was about to get up.
She grabbed my arm and pulled me down, “What! Are you crazy. Lets just wait for him to leave.”
I took a breath, I know I can take this guy, but I can’t blow my cover, but I don’t like her being fearful. This isn't right, I don’t care about my cover, I want her to be safe. “No, I can handle it.” I said as I got up.
I walked out and knocked on the guys window, he rolled it down and he had a curious look on his face. “You, need to go, your scaring the neighbors. So, I would like it if you leave.”
He got out of his car and stood in front of me, like he was being a brave guy and wanting to fight. “Look, I don’t want to hurt you, but I will if I have to. So, lets just end this with no one getting hurt.”
“What are you going to do about it?” He said as he poked me in the shoulder, “Your too weak to fight me.” He said as he continued to poke me in the shoulder.
I grabbed his hand and twisted it and pulled his hand behind him and then kicked him in the face, I flipped him and he landed on the ground, he was knocked out. I walked up to the porch and into her house, I locked the door and went back to sitting down next to her. “I don’t think he will bother us anymore.” I said with a smile. She looked at me with a shocking expression, “H-How did you do that?” She asked as she stuttered.
“Um…I was in a karate class.” I said nonchalant.
“Wow, your really good. Thank you, Riley.” She said as she gave me a hug.
Then we pulled apart, “No, problem.”
She looked at me, “Um…I have to tell you something.” She said shyly.
“What is it?” I asked curiously.
“I actually pretended that I didn’t know how to do math.”
“Why?” I asked curiously.
“Because I wanted to hang out with you. I hope that’s okay?” she said gently.
I gave her smile, “Yeah, that’s fine.”
Then she gave me a smile back. Then someone came through the door, it was her dad and Madison got up quickly so did I.
Her dad looked at both of us frantically, “What is going on?” Madison looked at me and then her father, “Um… We were working on math. He was helping me.”
His eyebrows pulled together, “I thought you knew how to do math?”
“I do, I just couldn’t figure something out.” She said quickly.
“Well, I wish you told me, then I wouldn’t come home surprise.” He said sternly.
“I’m sorry sir. I’m Riley.” I said as I stuck my hand out to him. He shook my hand.
“Is it alright if he stays for dinner?”
I looked at her, “Well, I don’t want to intrude.”
She looked at me, “Your not. Is it alright?” She said as she looked at he father.
“Yeah, its alright. I’ll order Chinese.”
“Thank you sir.” I said politely.
He turned his head back at me and gave me smile, “No problem.”
Madison and I sat back down on the couch and she smiled at me with happiness.
Then her father walked in. “I order the Chinese, so it should be here soon. I will be down in the basement working for awhile, just open the door and yell for me for dinner. Here is some money.” Then he leaned down and kissed Madison on the top of her head, then walked out of the living, then you hear a door shut.
She puts the money on the diner table, then looks at me, “So what would you like to do?”
“Um…anything, I don’t care.” I said nonchalant.
She walked up to the entertainment center and opened a cupboard full of movies and she was looking around for a movie.
I was looking at her, then a question popped into my head, “So, what does your father do?”
“He’s a scientist, he is always working. The only time we get to spend with each other is when he walks in and says ‘how was your day’ then I tell him, then he tells me, he has to work down in the basement, like always. The other time is dinner time, we get to talk a little bit. But after dinner he goes back in the basement and works.” She said as she was rummaging through the DVD’s.
“Do you ever get to see his work? Have you ever been down in the basement?” I asked.
“No, I’m not aloud, neither is anybody. He has a sign that says ‘Keep Out’.”
My eyebrows went up, “Wow, sounds really serious. ”I lied, because I've already seen the signed.
“Yeah, I guess so, but I’m guessing its really dangerous so maybe that’s why he doesn’t want me down there.”
“Yeah, maybe.” I said quietly.
She was still looking at the DVD‘s “Um…” She paused, “What about this one?” She said as she got up from squatting and came over to where I was sitting on the couch. “Sure. That looks like a good movie.” I said as she was walking towards the DVD player, “I’ve never seen it.”
She turned around quickly, “Really? This is my favorite movie.”
“Well, I never really watch too much movies, I’m usually busy, so I don’t have time to go see a movie or watch it at home.”
“Well, I’m glad I can be the one to show you this movie. It’s really good. I think you might like it, it has a lot of action in it.”
“Sounds great to me.” I said amusingly and she laughed too. After the movie and Chinese, I told her I had to go because it was getting late. “Well, I’ll see you at school tomorrow. I had a fun time.” I said with a smile.
“I did too, we should do this again.” She smiled at back at me, “I mean, if you want to, it’ll be a friends thing, unless you…”
I gave her an overwhelm expression, “Madison! Its fine. I would like to do this again.” I said in a calm voice and a relax smile. She exhaled a breath and nodded. “Are you going to be alright?” I said with concern.
“Yeah, as long as that guy doesn’t come around.”
“Well, if he does. Here is my number.”
I said as I gave her a piece of paper with my number on it. She grabbed it and looked down at it and smiled, then grabbed my notebook and leaned over and I can smell her vanilla lavender shampoo, which smelled really nice on her. Then she leaned away and I notice seven digits on the notebook. “There is my number too. See you tomorrow, Riley and drive save.”
I walked out the door and was on the porch I walked close to the stairs, “I will.” and waved goodbye as I walked down the stairs and headed to my car.
