I got home and threw on a different shirt. I put on a dark blue polo shirt and light blue jeans and drove to school. I got to my locker and grabbed my books. Then all of sudden I was slammed against the lockers. I turned around to see who it was and Seth, he gave me a evil expression, but his lips formed into a smirk. I just turned back to my locker. I took a breath to calm myself down. I did not want to get angry and start a scene. I closed my locker and picked up my backpack then headed to class.

I sat down at a desk, then Madison came walking in, she was laughing about something with her friend. In my head it was going in slow motion, she looked so beautiful, the way her blonde hair was moving. I could not look away. Then her eyes landed on mine and she had her gorgeous smile, then my lips formed into a smile. Wait, I can not be doing this. This is not part of my mission, I need to stop this. I looked down and grabbed my notebook and pencil from my backpack.

"Hey."

I looked around to see who said that. I looked to my left and Madison was sitting at the desk next to me with a smile.

"Hey." Then I looked at the front.

"Thank you for coming over last night. I had fun." she said with a sweet voice

I looked at her, then gave her nod, "Me too." then looked back at the front.

"Did I do something wrong?" She asked in a serious tone.

I looked back at her and she had a sad expression. I hated that look and I'm the reason that is making her have that expression.

"No. I'm just tired." trying to sound reassuring.

"Oh okay." She said like she kind of didn't believe me.

Then Mr. Edwards interrupted the class from their conversations. Then we started on our usual warm ups.

At lunch I grabbed some spaghetti, with a roll, and a milk carton, then for dessert rice pudding.

"Hey come sit with us outside." She said with enthusiasm.

"Okay. Lead the way." I retorted back.

We got outside we started walking, then Seth came up.

"Hello, Madison and...Riley." He said as he looked at me with distaste.

"What do you want Seth?" Madison said harshly.

"Just to do this." He said in a mischievous smile.

We both gave him a weird expression.

Then he pushed my tray in my face. I had spaghetti and rice pudding on my face and shirt. I lift my head up from the food and it was dripping on to my shirt. Seth was laughing and his crew was roaring in the background.

"Seth!" Madison said angrily. Then punched him in the arm, but had no effect on him.

I started whipping the food off my face with my hands. I grabbed his shirt and was in his face and Madison put her hand on my shoulder. I let him go and started to breathe in and out to control my anger.

I turned around, I notice that their were a bunch of people standing around watching to see if there was a fight. I walked off and went into the school. All I wanted to do was get away and wash this stuff off.

Madison was calling after me, she was trying to keep up but I guess I was too fast for her.

I went into the gymnasium. To throw off steam. I grabbed the rack of basketballs and started throwing them at the backboard. It was kind if helping me calm down.

Then the door open and she kept calling for me.

I turn around, "What?" I yelled at her.

She stopped like she was shocked. I did not mean to yell at her, I was just so angry.

I let out a exasperated breath, "I'm sorry Madison. I-I didn't mean to yell."

She walked up closer to me, "I know your sorry. Seth is a jerk."

She was looking around and then grabbed my hand and pulled me to the benches. Then she grabbed a towel and was whipping my face.

We were so close I couldn't look away. She was so beautiful.

"Thanks." I whisper.

Her eyes slowly look to mine, "For what?" She whispers back.

"For this, always being there for me."

She is slowly wiping my cheek and looking at each other, "I will always be there for you."

"Why?" I asked.

She looks back to where she is wiping on my cheek. She takes a breath and slowly looks back at me, "Because..."

We were looking at each other, I wanted to kiss her so bad. My pulse was increasing rapidly. My heart was telling me just lean over and kiss her, what harm would it be, but my brain was telling me to think of the mission and not be falling for her. We were inches from each other. Then the doors opened, but we were still looking at each other.

"There you are." A loud, harsh voice.

Then I lifted off the seat and Seth was in my face. I wanted Madison still in my face, not him.

"Seth Stop this! Let him go." Madison yelled at him.

"Fine."

Then he threw me on the ground and I was rolling, he threw me pretty hard and fast. I was on my stomach, coughing and trying to get the air back in my lungs. I heard Madison started hitting him. I got up on four still trying to breathe and coughing. I slowly got to my feet and Seth had his arms wrapped around Madison.

"Let her go!" I said groggily.

"Seth!" Madison pleaded.

"Shut up!"

"Hey! Don't talk to her like that." I yelled.

Then Madison elbowed him in the stomach and stepped on his foot and he let go. I grabbed her hand and we ran away. We got to the parking lot and got into my car.
