Spy on A Mission

Chapter Seventeen

The next day at school, I walked down the hallway and our eyes glanced at each other, she looked away and closed her locker, she started walking away. I open my locker and slowly grabbed my books for my first class, which is math. I walked into the class and Madison looked up and saw me and quickly looked back down at her notebook. I sat down at my seat. This is very hard, I feel like not doing anything. I can't get through today, I really don't know how I am going to do this.

She gets up and walks out of the classroom.

"Madison!" Says Mr. Edwards.

I look out the door, wanting to go after her, but I know I shouldn't, because if I did all I want to do is kiss her and tell her everything is going to be alright, when it won't be. But I have to check on her, I'll go look and see and she won't even notice. I get up and walk out the classroom. I see her running down the hall, it looks like she is running to someone, I move slowly and in the sunlight she ran into Seth and he wrapped his arms around her. That was really hard to see, I'm in love with her, I want to be with her so bad, but I can't for this mission, I need to keep her safe and I can't get attach, but I think its too late.

The next day at school, I walk up to my locker and I look to my left and I see Seth down the hallway, he walked up to a group of guys and did a hand shake with them. they all looked around and Seth pulled out a baggie and gave them the baggies. Then I see them move to a room. I closed my locker and walk over there. I looked through the door window. I couldn't hear anything. I grabbed my headphones and hooked to my phone. I have a app where I can hear through doors and walls. I put my phone on the door and I hear Seth.

"Guys we are doing great. Madison doesn't even know. I have her in the palm of my hand. She trusts me and she is all mad at that Riley guy. So its perfect."

" And the blueberries are ready to sell." said another guy.

"yeah thanks to Madison's father." Seth said. "We need to sell these at the party on Friday. They will be a huge hit." Seth acknowledged.

The other guys shook their heads up and down.

Oh Shit, this is horrible. I need to go to this party. I need to see what else they are going to do. The bell ringed and I see them moving towards the door.

I started walking away and hear Seth say, "Meet you guys later."

Then I felt someone turn me around and Seth shoves me against the lockers.

"What did you see?"

"I didn't see anything."

"I saw you by the door. don't play dumb with me Riley."

I pushed him away, "I was just walking by, that's all."

He shoves me again against the lockers. Now I'm really mad. I punch Seth in the stomach and he clenches his stomach and i grabbed his right arm behind him and I had my other arm wrapped around his neck. Seth was struggling and grunting. He was trying to get out of my grasp.

"Riley?" Madison runs up to Seth, I let him go and she puts her hands on him, "What are you doing?"

"Madison its not what it seems." I said trying to reassure her.

"What I see is that you punched him." She says angrily.

"Yeah he did it out of no where." He says through pain.

"He started it first shoving me against the lockers." I said with anger.

"What is wrong with you!" She said out loud.

"Nothing is wrong." I said through clenching my jaw and I walk away going out the building.

Madison catches up to me, "That was not you Riley."

"Who are you going to believe. Him or me?" I said with a little bit of calmness.

"I don't know right now, you are acting different." she said softly but with toughness.

I just kept walking, she moves in front of me, "I want to know, what made you do that?" She puts her hands on my cheeks.

" He was the one who shoved me against the locker-"

"So you decided to punch him?"

"Yeah, it was wrong, but I was angry, I can't help it if I'm angry."

"What is going on Riley?"

"Nothing." I sighed, "I have to go."

"Don't tell me its nothing. Just tell me the truth, why can't you do that?"

"I already told you. It's dangerous for you to know." I walked away.

"Bullshit Riley!" She yells out.

But I just kept walking to my car. I have to have her mad at me, so she can at least move on. Even though I don't want her with anyone else. Its so confusing.

Later this week its been really hard seeing her and I know it has been for her, she hasn't looked at me or talk to me. This has been the longest time we haven't talk to each other. James asked me to hang out at this party by the lake. Which is perfect because what I overheard Seth say and plus I can forget about Madison and focus on the mission. I'm sure something will go down at this party.

I got dressed, wearing a plain white shirt with a blue plaid shirt over it, with black jeans and my converse. I get into my car and drove to the party. I parked in the dirt where all the other cars parked. I walk down to the lake, it looks like those typical parties, with the bonfire going and some people drinking.

I see James and walk up to him, "Hey, what's up?"

"Hey." He nods to me and takes a drink of his beer, "You know Madison is here." He nods to where she is.

I clear my throat, "Yeah, I assume." I said as I look at her.

She looks so beautiful in her light blue dress, she is with her two friends and Seth is right there too, which is really pissing me off especially what he was saying about Madison.


I look away and look at James.


"So what is up with you two?" James asked.


"Nothing, just trying to figure out my feelings."


"Alright man, but you better decide, because I know Seth really likes her." He nods towards them, where Seth has his hand on her lower back.  That was hard to see that, then she moves a little, then I see him give her some of those blueberries and I run to them and knock the bag out of her hands, "Don't eat those!" I yell.

"What was that for?" Madison says in anger.

"They are poisonous."

"How do you know Riley?" Seth looks at me sternly and suspicious.

I look sternly back at him, "I just do."

"I knew you were there." Seth whispered and looked at me with anger.

"What are you talking about Seth?" Madison looks at Seth.

"Its nothing." Seth said with a chuckle.

"Its something." Madison says seriously and she folds her arms across her chest.

I touched her shoulder, "I will tell you later." I said softly.

She turns and looks at me, "alright." She said with understanding.

I took my hand off her shoulder quickly and we were looking at each other.

"Yo, Riley you have to check this out." James yells out.

"Well, I better go." I walk away

I reached to James, "hey." I nodded to him. 

"Look," he points straight ahead.
I see someone sledding down the sand and he falls off and James and I laughed. I look  over where Madison and Seth pulls her closer and he kisses her, my smile slowly faded away.
I look down and when I look back up Seth gave me a smirk, but Madison pushes him hard, he stumbled a little. Madison sees me and she starts walking to me.
I start walking away and head towards the lake, I put my hands in my pockets and just look out to the lake. I hear someone come up to me, but I really want to be alone right now.

"Riley?" A soft voice says my name.

I turn to see who it is and its Madison and when I see her I look away.
