"Let's eat here!" Con said as we reached the outside of 'Boom'
"Are you sure here's okay?" I asked him, I had just seen Leah's car parked outside of the cafe. She had bullied me since the start of high school because of my figure and pretty much just because of everything about me. She was training to be a model. She was the girl that every other girl wanted to be at school.
"Yeh it's fine!" Con replied
We walked through the doors of 'Boom' and as soon as I waked through the doors she saw me. I saw her sniggered to herself before I pulled Connor into a corner and told him about her. All the girls already knew about her and about my scars, but I wasn't ready to tell him about them yet.
"Listen Con, don't look behind you but that girl... she was well, um, she bullied my at school," I told him, "ever since our first day of high school, the first thing she ever said to me was 'Whale girl, if I were you I'd skipped lunch, you could do with losing some if your thighs.' I spent the rest of that day locked in the girls toilets, um... crying. The next six years of my high school life were spent hiding from her, even though I tried my very best to avoid her, everyday she managed to come up with another fat joke, and another." I told him, "After the first few years I started to believe what she was saying, it was really stupid I wasn't even fat for gods sake, but I didn't never at breakfast or lunch all of the way through third year, I was swimming more than twenty hours a week, I turned from a size 10 to a size 2 in a year. I put the weight back on the following year with the support of my family and friends but I still hated myself. And honestly there's more but I don't feel that you'll ever want to see me again if I tell you. I'm sorry."
He immediately pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear, "Your perfect, don't ever forget that. Never change for anyone, I really like you. I don't just like you, I mean I really like you in a more than friends way." He said before he pulled out of the hug and kissed me on the cheek.
I smiled at him not really knowing how to reply. He took my hand and we went to sit at a table which the rest of our friends were already sat at. He kept my hand in his whilst we sat looking thorough the menu, he was one of the loveliest people I had ever met in my life.
"I'm just going to the toilet," Emily said, "someone come with me?" She asked directing her question to me.
"I'll come." I said loosening by grip from Cons hand and standing up.
As soon as we reached the toilets Emily smiled at me and asked "What did you say to Con then?"
"I told him everything about Leah, the bullying, third year." I told her
"You didn't tell him about, the you know." She asked me looking down to my wrists which were covered by my usual collection of twenty or so bracelets.
"No I couldn't, I didn't want to throw it all on to him in one day," I said "I've only known him for a weekend, I'm not going to tell him that."
We walked back to the table, Kayla and Jeanne smiling at me obviously knowing what Emily had asked me.
"Are you okay?" Con asked me, I nodded in reply, smiling at him.
"What the fuck is this?" Leah asked as she walked over to our table holding a note pad and pen, obviously directing her comment towards Con and I.
"Excuse me?!" Con asked her back sounding extreamly shocked.
"I asked what the fuck is this, why are four hot boys with a group of fat, ugly girls?" She said this time directing her comment towards all of us. Looking from Brad and Emily, to James and Kayla, then to Tris and Jeanne and then glaring at Con and I. "Excuse me boys," she said fiddling with her hair, "but I think you've stumbled upon the wrong group of girls, you see these three are completely fine except for there awful choice in friends. That little fatty Grace sitting next to that hot one, well you see, she's got 'mental health issues.'" She said using her fingers as brackets when she said 'mental health issues'
"Shut the fuck up you bitch! Oh and if you continue to twiddle with your hair like that I think your hair extensions will fall out." Kayla said before standing up and slapping her so hard that she fell to the ground.
"What did you just say to me?!" Leah shouted at her holding her cheek, looking up to her from the black and white tiled floor that she lay on.
"I told you to SHUTTHEFUCKUP!" Kayla said whilst she picked up her bag and stormed out of the cafe. The rest of us followed her out the door each of the boys giving her a look of disgust as we walked out. I tried to hold in the tears so hard but as soon as we stepped out the door I couldn't stop myself. I crumpled myself into a ball on the pavement and burst into tears. I couldn't take it anymore.
