Upon returning home that day all it took was a glass of wine; a couple of hours on the sofa with Felicity softly purring in her lap and a power nap, for Genesis to regain focus. She woke up at six thirty; ate a dinner consisting of spaghetti and meatballs and made her way to her CDC. The
monitors whirred to life and the live feed from her sister's house appeared on the screen from when she had been watching her in the morning.
Her timing deemed impeccable as Genesis caught Jazmine in the act of sneaking out of the house whilst Tyler was in the shower. That oblivious man had no clue what kind of a person Jazmine really was, she thought. They may not have been related by blood, but Genesis wasn't the only person in the family that had a knack for deception.
She watched as Jazmine quickly slid into her Lexus and drove off down the driveway of their house. Genesis pinged Jazmine's cell phone from hers so that she could track where she was going and began to make her way out of her apartment.
Genesis had been following her car for fourty minutes before Jazmine pulled into an alley on the left. They had not long ago entered the parts of New York that weren't advertised in the media. What would she be doing in this area, Genesis thought? That girl couldn't even stand to chip her nail polish, this was much more her own scene than Jazmine's.
Genesis parked in the shadows on the curb and stepped out of her car, taking her gun from the glove compartment and tucking it into the waistband of her jeans. This was a time that she appreciated the fact that she wasn't one of those women who insisted on always wearing heels, the roads and pavement in this area were in serious need of repairs.
She placed her back against the wall, peeking around the corner of the alley to check if it was clear for her to move, before walking further down. When she reached where Jazmine's car was parked, there were two other cars facing towards hers. She was meeting someone.
Fortunately, by that time it was dark outside, so Genesis couldn't easily be seen. However, she did need to get within a closer proximity to listen in on the conversation. If she could make it to the dumpsters on the other side of the alley, she would be concealed from their line of sight as well as close enough to hear.
As Jazmine opened the car door, Genesis utilized the opportunity to run across the road and duck down behind the dumpsters, only leaning her head forward from the side to watch the scene unfold. The scent oozing from the rubbish inside of the bins was sickening; she tried her hardest not to gag.
Jazmine whipped her head around, she must have heard her footsteps in the eerie silence, but after not being able to see anyone - she turned her head back to face the person she was meeting and shut the car door. Bad idea Jazzy, Genesis thought, a closed door meant a more difficult task of escape.
Her sister took a couple of steps forward before the doors to the other two cars opened, Genesis couldn't tell who the men were due to the absence of light, but there were four of them in total. She took her phone out of her pocket and started recording the meeting. One of the men approached Jazmine, the others remaining a few meters behind.
"I hope you've obtained what I require, Falzone. My boss won't allow me to be as generous with you this time." She spoke, her voice came across unwavering. She was clearly the person holding the power in the situation.
The man Genesis presumed was Falzone retrieved a brown envelope from his back pocket and hesitantly passed it to her sister. He may have looked over fourty years of age, but he was scared of Jazmine.
The rustling of the paper could be heard as she shuffled through the envelope. "What do you call this? Where's the rest of it? This isn't even half of the payment!" Jazmine spat, her tone of voice rising with rage.
