Saturday
Genesis had spent the night procrastinating the viewing of the contents of her backpack. To think in the spur of the Moment she was so insistent on finally finding out the truth. The planning of her mother's fake death, the operations of the gang in New York - everything. Now that she had all she required, she was conflicted as to whether she should even bother reading through the information she retained.
It wasn't as if it would change anything, what had happened was complete and the only thing she could do now was move on. That was something Genesis had always struggled with, clearly shown by her old habit of becoming the self-proclaimed vigilante Harmonie. She was good with grudges, it gave her something to fuel all her pent-up malice on, whether that was directed towards others or herself.
One thing she could never go wrong with, however, was a little retail therapy. She couldn't be bothered to drive and she didn't want to bother Hann on his day off, so Genesis called a taxi and once again headed over to the mall to shop her worries away, at least temporarily. When she reached the mall she strode past McDonald's, it reminded her of the last time she was there, with Damon. Unwanted emotions began to stir inside of her and she had to quickly push them down before she had the chance to start re-living those memories. Ever since she had found out that her parents were still around she had completely shut off her emotions. Hence why she willingly had a one-night-stand with Dimitri.
Speaking of the devil, two familiar figures were noticeably walking towards her. They were both holding bags from a variety of different outlets and seemed to be laughing at a joke that Dominic had told. He saw Genesis first, nudging his brother and nodding her way to gesture that she was there. They came to a stop in front of her with warm and welcoming smiles.
"Ciao boys." Genesis greeted. She was unexpectedly pulled into a hug by Dominic, in spite of the many bags he was holding at the same time. She laughed, "Someone is in a cheerful mood."
"Hell yeah, I am. Entrambi siamo. It's going to be our twenty-sixth freaking birthday and our wildest party yet. I'm thinking supermodels, strippers, and the whole lot! Fratello giusto?" Dominic replied excitedly, he sure was eager to celebrate his birthday - she couldn't relate.
"Sure, Dom. Whatever you want." Dimitri replied, then turned his attention to Genesis. "So, how have you been since... the other night?" He asked as the three of them walked into a quaint café nearby and took a seat.
"Better, grazie." She cleared her throat, the sexual tension in the air was incredibly thick as she recalled the blissful night they had spent together, not to mention Dominic was staring at the two of them as if he hadn't a clue what they were talking about. Which he didn't.
"What was the other night?" He asked dumbfounded. Dimitri and Genesis both looked at each other as if to say 'keep it between us'.
"Non importa. It was work related - boring as per usual." She quickly averted the topic of conversation away from herself. "So what day is your birthday?" She questioned, generally curious. There were still a lot of things she didn't know about the men; she soon found herself relaxing in their company.
"Saturday, a week from now. I am so hyped, I can't wait." Dominic replied.
"You mean the sixteenth of September?"
Her heart sank just a little.
"Si. Perché, do you have something going on that day?" Dimitri inquired with a hopeful look in his eye. Genesis forced a smile upon her face, she wouldn't be selfish and ruin their excitement because of her own demons.
"No, per niente. Just being sure."
"You should come along then." Dominic invited, though she hadn't been in much of a party mood lately.
