Tuesday

The night before had ended in a way that Genesis couldn't possibly have imagined. Rather than wanting to create as much space between them as possible, Emily had done the complete opposite. She made the decision to help Genesis find amity and her first step was for them to live with one another.

When she had first suggested it, Genesis thought she were only joking. However, the serious expression on Emily's face told her otherwise. She was gobsmacked, it was unlike anything she had ever predicted. It caused her to wonder if perhaps Emily had a mental health issue, but Emily's perspective was that she knew how to make Genesis think about the impact her actions had on herself before making them; confronting her emotions was the key to her eventually finding peace. It was what she needed after all those years.

The subsequent afternoon, Emily and Genesis collapsed onto the sofa as the last of Emily's boxes were brought into Genesis' apartment, by none other than the Soldati twins. When Emily announced to her new boyfriend that she was moving, he wasted no time in offering to help with the process - despite Genesis' insistence that she had a very reliable service a phone call away.

"Alright. These were the last few - grazie al Signore. Why does one person own so many items of clothing?" Dominic complained, holding his lower back as if he were an old man with arthritis. Emily and Genesis gave each other a knowing look, before chuckling at his exaggeration.

"Hey, you've seen my closet babe. You knew exactly what you were getting yourself into." Emily teased.

"Besides, you are the one that practically begged to do this for her. Be a man and deal with the consequences." Genesis added.

Dominic scowled at the fact that nobody would take his side. "That's easy for you to say - we did all the heavy lifting while you two carried plastic containers and pillows."

"And whose decision was that, Dom? Quit whining, andiamo in palestra per una ragione." Dimitri finally interjected, slapping his brother on the back of the head.

"Grande. Now all three of you are ganging up against me. I hate you guys." He pouted.

"Aw, I'm sorry babe. Come here and let me make it up to you." Emily said. Dominic obediently trudged towards her beckoning finger, allowing her to give him a kiss in thanks. The smile that grew on his face resembled that of a Cheshire cat.

Genesis was glad to see her friend so happy; she knew Dominic would treat Emily right. Otherwise he was aware of what Genesis would do to him if he chose not to. Dominic threw his body down between the two girls on the sofa and wrapped his left arm around Emily, pulling her into his chest.

"You're lucky that you're so damn cute." He mumbled into her hair. Genesis took that as her cue to leave and give them some privacy, so she followed in the direction that Dimitri had already headed.

She entered her room to find him sitting comfortably on her armchair with his phone at his ear. After he had finished his call, Dimitri walked over to where Genesis had stood watching him intently from her dressing table. It had been a while since they had last been in her room together, but for the first time it was for a different reason.

He took her hand in his and led her over to where he had been sitting, allowing her to sit in front of him on the side of her bed. The two of them sat staring at anything but each other before Genesis decided to break the silence.

"How have you been?" She questioned. Dimitri's eyes squinted as he peered at her and smirked.

"We both know that isn't really what you wanted to ask. Speak your mind." He replied.

Genesis sighed. "Very well then, sta facendo bene??"

"He's coping, as well as he can under the circumstances." Dimitri informed her. His response failed to offer her any type of relief.
